The next day both Ash and Rose meet with Mrs. Khan. They were talking when Rose got the text that John was here. She said, "I will be right back." She went outside. John was standing in front of his car. Rose went near him and said, "You are late."
John looked at her and said, "You look beautiful."
Rose looked down at herself and saw she was wearing a red shirt with black color formal pants. She is wearing a pair of black high heels. She was confused if she was looking out of the place but pushed that thought. What is important is to get information from John.
"Thank you. Let's go in."
"After you"
Rose was shocked to see his manner. But then she remembered they were in a public place. Paparazzi could get pictures and spread false rumors. If it happens, Rose will be in a more dire situation. So she simply smiled and went inside.
Mrs. Khan looked happy to see her brother. Even after all these years, they never acknowledged each other in front of the world.
"Welcome, Mr. Aster. I am glad to meet with you."
"Thank you, Mrs. Khan."
"How are you, son?" John asked.
Ash looked at him and thought of punching him, but before he could, he felt a soft hand touching his large hand. He took a deep breath and said, "I am super fine. After all, I am getting married to the girl I dream about. "
Rose became shy. She knew it was a lie. Suppose anything Ash might want to poison her to death. But Rose didn't point it out. Instead, she asked, "How is mom?"
"She is fine. Just missing you."
"I hope she attended my wedding," Rose said.
"It will be tough as she is sick. I don't want to push her."
"But it's her daughter's wedding," Ash said.
"I will try to bring her. Of course, she will come."
Ash and Rose were about to smile when he added, "Well, after all the procedures are done. We will hold a grand wedding. She will attend it."
Mrs. Khan said, "Oh, I remember. Mr. Aster, please check the document I sent to your office this morning. If I knew you were going to come, I would have personally submitted it to you."
"That's very kind of you."
"What document?" Ash asked.
"About shares of Khan Group. I draw the deeds and send them to, Mr. Aster's office. I am sure his lawyer would check it."
"Why are you rushing?" Ash asked.
"Of course for your marriage." She smiled and continued, "If I don't, your father will scold me."
Ash didn't speak. Mrs. Khan looked at Rose and said, "I am thrilled to see a new member of my family."
Rose was speechless. Who wants someone that tries to kill her son?
But Rose maintained her smile and said, "I am glad. I thought someone might have misunderstood your love for your son was fake. But now I am sure it's true."
Mrs. Khan understood the meaning behind Rose's words. So she said, "People might have misunderstood all kinds of love, but a mother's love was the purest of all love. So no one will misunderstand it."
Rose nodded. Ash said, "I will send the documents regarding my company's share today. Please review it, and we will proceed."
"Don't worry. By tomorrow, everything will be ready. And the next day, you will be getting married."
Rose looked at John.
"What do you mean?"
"I meant to say you will sign the contract. And we will arrange the grand wedding next week."
"Okay," Rose agreed. Ash and Rose hoped that before the week, they had to find her mother.
"That's great. I will see you tomorrow." John said.
"Bye"
"Bye, see you soon," Ash said.
Ash got up to attend a call. Rose and Mrs. Khan were sitting. Rose said, "Do you know him from before?"
"Why did you say that? This is the second time I saw him."
"No, I thought you knew him. And when you both sit together, you look kind of similar."
Mrs. Khan laughed. She said, "Maybe he was my long-lost brother." Though the word was humorous when she spoke, there was sadness in it. Rose could not point it out, but she felt like she was missing something.
"I wish my daughter was like you."
"Pardon-"
"Alina is different. It's hard to understand her. And I think I am a failure as a mother." She gave a downcast look.
"No, you are a fine mother. You did your best to raise her."
Mrs. Khan smiled. It was a warm smile, but somehow Rose shivered.
Ash came and hugged Rose from behind. Rose jumped a little, but the familiar smell of Ash touched her nose. So she calmed down.
"I have to go. Something came up in the office."
"It's alright. I will see you at night."
Ash touched Rose's head and kissed her hair.
"See you soon," then he left.
Rose and Mrs. Khan drank the coffee. They shopped for a few dresses and left.
Rose came back and saw ash was sitting in the drawing room.
She sat beside him and said, "Why are you here?"
"I got the location of Leo and will meet with him soon."
"That's great," Rose said.
"Yes"
"Will you be alright? I mean, it's not dangerous, is it?"
"No, Roy and I will be going."
Rose thought about something and said, "Ash, don't you find it strange?"
Ash raised his eyebrows.
"I mean, Mrs. Khan readily agreed with the preparation. And from their interactions, I have a strong feeling that she knew him from the past."
"I know about it. She was with the east faction. However, I do not know if she was related or not. But it's something to look into."
"She was with the East faction. Then why did my uncle still let her be?"
"I don't know. I tried, but he never said anything."
"Do you think it's related to your mother?"
"Possibly."
"We have to find out."
"Yes,"
Just then, they heard the doorbell. Rose opened it and saw Mr. Khan.
"Hello,"
He only nodded. Rose knew he would not forgive her.
"Why are you here?" Ash asked.
"Sit; I have something to discuss."
Both sat. Mr. Khan looked at them and said, "We need to find proof about his drug dealing. But more than that, we need to find out about the money laundry."
"I know, and I tried to find the trace. But his money was not in his account or Leo's account."
"Then how did he use his money?" Rose asked.
"I know," Mr. Khan said.
"Who helped him?" Ash asked, but he had already guessed whom.
"My second wife, his sister, is helping him."
Rose took a sharp breath.
"I knew it. There was something about the money in your company. So he was using his sister to put money in our company. Now with his daughter and with his sister, he will take all the money he put into this company. Also, for extra, he will have my company's share and Rose's company's share."
"Yes. He planned it for a long time. I think that's why he planted his sister with us. But he didn't know Rose would be his child. So it's a blessing in disguise."
"When did you learn about it?" Ash asked.
"I had my doubts, but like you, I couldn't find any trace of the money. Finally, yesterday when she came with the deeds, I came to understand. But sadly, I don't have any proof."
"I can help," Rose said.
They looked at Rose, and Rose said, "I know someone who can help with it."
Ash was confused. But remembered Rose knew about him being the leader of Night Sky. Therefore, she might be able to find the Intel they could not.
"Okay. But remember you have only two days. If before that we couldn't find anything, we have to proceed with John's plan."
"Don't worry. I will try my best."
Rose said with determination.
