"Today's my schedule for fitting my gown. Are you free? Can you join me?" Maeve asked as she carefully chooses what suit September should wear today.
She was torn between the ash-gray glossy suit and the dirt-brown one.
September silently watched her solve her mini dilemma with a smile. He was leaning by the closet waiting for his wife to finally decide what would be his outfit for today.
"So? Are you free?" She asked looking up to him for a few seconds before returning her attention back to the clothes she was holding.
"I can squeeze it before lunch,"
"Great. Then you should wear this," he chuckled when she finally put the brown one back to the closet and neatly placed the ash-gray suit on the bed.
Maeve turned to him and clinged her arms around his nape. She rested her forehead to his and let their noses meet.
"Love you..." She whispered which made September smile.
"I love you more," he said caressing her waist.
Maeve groaned with his action and snuggled her face on his nape.
"I still need to bring Fiona to the kindergarten..." She whispered as September's hands moved around her body.
"Uhuh?" September responded while nibbling her earlobes.
"And you shouldn't be doing this," she said as she half-heartedly push him away.
September chuckled after seeing her frustrated face.
"I'll make it up tonight!" He called out as he watched her walked out of their room. Probably to help Fiona get ready for school.
"Bye Daddy!" Fiona said after kissing his cheeks.
"Goodbye baby. Be a good girl, okay?" His daughter nodded. He then turned his attention to his wife and gave her a quick kiss.
"Should I fetch you later?" He asked.
"No need. Let's just meet at the shop. I'll send the address to Falcon later." She said smiling.
"Sure. I'll get going first. Drive safely. I love you," he said and kissed her on the cheeks this time before finally getting inside the car.
"Sir," Falcon entered the meeting room and September immediately ended the meeting in understanding.
The car ride was quiet. September busied himself watching the streets they passed by. Falcon sighed deeply and moved the car to the side before finally setting the engine off.
"You really won't do anything?" Falcon asked without looking at him.
September chuckled humorlessly with his friend's worrying.
"I can take care of myself. Just promise me one thing Falcon," the butler finally turned a bit to face him on the backseat.
"Please take care of them. Please take care of Maeve and Fiona when what we fear the most actually happened." September pleaded with a serious expression as he looked at his most trusted person.
"You would right? You would look after them?" Falcon just stared at him before returning back to his position.
"You can take care of them yourselves." The butler responded which made September smile sadly.
He knew that the butler would do it even without him asking. Falcon wasn't just a good butler, he's also a good friend.
The ride towards the shop address Maeve had sent them were still awfully quiet.
"September," Falcon called out when he was about to step out of the car.
"I hope you know what you're doing and not regret it when it's too late," The butler said as he stared directly at him.
He smiled and tapped the butler on his shoulder before finally stepping out of the car.
He immediately dialled his wife's number as he entered the dress shop.
"Hon? Where are you?" He asked after Maeve picked up the phone.
"Almost there. How 'bout you?"
"I'm here already. I'll just wait for you then," he said, nodding at the receptionist who welcomed him.
"Sir, do you have an appointment or..."
"My wife had an appointment today, under Maeve Miller's name," he said. The receptionist typed in something on the computer before she looked up to faced the handsome client.
"There's no appointments with Maeve Miller set for today sir, but we have a certain Maeve Thorne scheduled for bridal fitting. Was it the same person?" September's lips parted as he heard his wife's name with his surname attached.
It was a small detail but it means so much to him.
"Yes, that's my wife." He said with a soft smile on his face.
The receptionist smiled back professionally before calling out someone to assist him.
September was ushered into an open area with white couches ready for the shop's clients.
"You can wait here sir. May we ask what you prefer to drink?"
"Water would do. Thank you," he said before he settled on the couch to wait for Maeve.
While waiting for the drink, September browse through the magazines. He immediately smiled when he felt Maeve kissed his cheeks.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting," she said while hugging September's nape.
"It's alright, should we get started?" He asked and Maeve obediently nodded. She left her handbag beside him before she went with the assistant to try her dress.
September's gaze fell on his wife's bag. He took it and placed it on his lap. He contemplated a bit before finally deciding to open it.
"No." He muttered to himself when he was about to rummage inside the bag. He took a deep breath before zipping it close once again and carefully putting it back to it's place.
September's eyes lingered on Maeve's bag for awhile before his attention was drawn to the opening of curtains in front of him.
He saw Maeve standing gorgeously and perfectly in front of him. The white off-shoulder gown accented all her curves perfectly.
"How do I look?" She asked.
"You looked perfect," he said staring at her adoringly.
"Your husband looked so in love with you ma'am," the assistant pointed out while smiling.
Maeve smiled at her before shifting his attention back to her husband who still looked dumbstruck staring at her wearing her wedding dress.
"And I'm in love with him too. So much and I hope he knows about it," she replied as she tried to smile back at him.
