DC Comics: The Bookstore Witch Chapter 72

The rest of the Forest of Death part of the exams had gone almost exactly as it had in canon. Naruto had woken up a little later, slightly sore but healed up within the few minutes it had been. Sasuke had gone berserk trying to protect his team, using the cursed mark for the first and only time before it had faded. They made their way through the forest and met up with Kabuto who Naruto was openly suspicious of thanks to his increased senses and the training that Wanda had put him through, training that helped with sensing lies and trickery. Important training basically. The trio eventually managed to make their way through the forest and had gotten the last of the scrolls needed, allowing for them to finish the test with nothing more than a few bruises, and in Sakura's case, cut hair. The trio had obviously reported what had happened to Hiruzen, who had a...questionable reaction to the entire thing. As he didn't really do much about the fact that Orochimaru was obviously within his village. No lockdown, no hunt, nothing. Just...helping Sasuke with the mark that was no longer there and that's all. Wanda couldn't help but question how the man had been the Hokage for so long, and how more people hadn't begun to question why the man was even Kage still. As he was obviously awful at his job, and way too old for his position. He didn't take enough action. It was the first round of the tournament part where things had really changed. As thanks to his training under Wanda, Naruto and Kiba's fight had gone completely differently, to the point that it was practically a night and day difference. Naruto had absolutely crushed the boy in battle, effortlessly dodging and parrying every strike and blow that was thrown at him, and had thrown his own strikes that hit a lot harder and hit in much better areas, more damaging areas to hit. Naruto had won the fight within three minutes, and had completely crushed the arrogant boy that thought it would be an easy fight. Afterall, Naruto had been the dead last, so of course it would be easy. Of course he was completely wrong, and paid for his arrogance. Hinata had been awed by the complete crushing of her teammate, and the fact that the boy that she was in love with had gotten so strong without anyone even realizing. Wanda was proud of the growth of her son, but knew that it was far from enough. He would need dozens more times this power in order to battle with the future threats like Pain, Obito, Madara, and of course Kaguya. The other fight that had gone differently to a surprising degree was the fight between Sakura and Ino. Sakura had grown a decent bit more in this universe thanks to the help of Naruto, who had helped train her to a higher degree in comparison to canon. She didn't initially accept the training, but eventually was forced to once she realized that she was behind, very far behind. The books and knowledge she had received from Wanda's shop had helped as well, as she had started to learn proper techniques for building muscle, and human anatomy as well. As Wanda had suggested learning about pressure points and chakra points, attacking those points could prove very strong. And thanks to this, she had defeated Ino soundly, which was...embarrasing for Ino's father, as she was...weak, very very weak. It was almost laughable how bad she was, as her taijutsu was nonexistent, her physical attributes were pitiful, and even her Yamanaka techniques were weaker than they should be at her age. Basically, she was kind of a joke at the moment. But she would be able to improve, that much Wanda knew. And if she knew her son at all, she knew that he would be inviting his friends to her shop in order to get new techniques and books to learn from, that way they'd be stronger than in canon, and much more skilled as well. The rest of the fights had gone pretty much exactly the same, with Sasuke defeating his foe a bit faster than in canon, thanks to the cursed mark not being a problem for him. Wanda had noticed that Anko had been watching Sasuke closely, shocked that the boy didn't have the mark anymore even after receiving it from Orochimaru directly. Wanda decided she'd help the woman out soon. With the preliminary exams finished and done with, Naruto would now have a month to train before the next part of the exams, and to prepare to beat the snot out of Neji who had hurt Hinata in an extreme manner. As well as Gaara for the horrific damages he had caused to Rock Lee. Wanda would need to find the perfect moment to help Gaara with the seal, as no child deserved to go through what he had been. Which included quite literally never sleeping, which was obviously completely screwing up his mental state. Milim who had watched the entire exam, couldn't help but comment once it was all said and done. "Wow...some of those guys suck" Milim said, remembering Ino and her "Skill". "Yeah...yeah they do. But, they're also the product of terrible teachers and a severe lack of training. It also doesn't help that the academy that they learn at has fallen from what it used to be, making them weak and unable to adapt to the world around them like they should be" Wanda responded with a nod, agreeing that they were weak. "I thought little bro was weak, but I guess he's only weak to me, huh? Cuz he beat the snot out of that mutt" Milim said, happy that her brother had won his fight, even if it was a little underwhelming in her eyes. "You're the second strongest person in this universe right now, Milim. So of course he'd seem weak to you. But I am certain that once he goes to your world and obtains some skills, that he will be able to grow to potentially even rival you, at least, after some time" Wanda replied, knowing that Naruto would undoubtedly be able to develop his own ultimate skills. She wasn't sure what they would be, but they'd be enough to make him stronger than any other person in his home universe, giving him the key to defeat Kaguya. But that would have to happen later on, as for now, he had a lot of training to do. "Really? He can get that strong!?" Milim asked with sparkly eyes, excited with the idea of her brother becoming a proper sparring partner. There weren't many people out there that she could fight with and go all out on. And Wanda wasn't one of them, because her Mama was so strong that it would be a waste of time on her end. "Mmhmm, trust your Mama on this one" Wanda said, as they heard the front door open, and in ran Naruto. "Did you see my exam Mama? I was awesome wasn't I!? And I beat up that mutt Kiba, and I'm going to do the same thing to that Teme Neji, dattebayo!" Naruto asked with sparkly eyes of excitement. "Of course, I saw the whole thing. And you did incredible, sweety, you've made me very proud" Wanda replied with a smile as the child beamed at her praise. "Still a weak brat though" Milim commented on the side as Naruto glared at her. "What'd you say pinky!?" Naruto snarled, as the two of them glared at each other, facing off as they looked like they were about to fight. But upon seeing the face off, Wanda narrowed her eyes as her fists bonked them both on the top of their heads. "Ouchie! That hurt Mama!" Milim whined as Naruto rubbed his head with a sheepish expression, especially once he saw the glint in Wanda's eyes. "If you two keep fighting then you'll get no dessert tonight, and no ramen" Wanda said as their eyes shot wide in horror. "Wha-" "Now apologize to one another" Wanda cut off their complaints as they both pouted and looked at one another. "Sorry for calling you a weak brat" Milim said with a big pout on her face. "Sorry for calling you pinky" Naruto replied with a crossing of his arms, as Wanda looked between the two with a sigh, one thought on her mind as she saw them give each other another glare thinking she wouldn't see.
