Sam's pov:
I was still far away from Jack, but I had this weird feeling that something was not right. Silence engulfed the room as everyone in the hotel were fast asleep. The two of us stood in our respective places for a while.
Taking a deep breath, I started slowly and steadily walking up to him, only I knew how nervous I was. I had no idea what made him look this tense. And something was telling me that something bad was about to happen.
As I was walking within his proximity, he turned to me and just stared at me with a confused look while taking deeper breathes than normal.
"J-J-Jack" I began to murmur but he immediately opened his mouth, thus cutting me off.
"Where were you?" he asked firmly like he had bottled up a lot of anger within him for a long time.
Before I could even respond to his question, he walked up to me and demanded, "Answer me!" I noticed how he was very eager for a reply from me.
"I-I was at a par-party with Olivia." I answered as softly as possible as I didn't want this to escalate as we were in a hotel and I didn't want to disturb anyone at this time of night.
"What party?" He was determined to know my whereabouts suddenly while squinting.
"Nikita threw a surprise party for Erica and the rest of us YouTubers, and... it was for a few hours" I replied truthfully while giving a confused look to Jack.
Why was he behaving so weird? I had never witnessed him like that in a long time.
"You forgot, didn't you?" he said while he lowered his head in disappointment.
After initially being clueless and scratching my head at his statement, everything struck me! How could I forget?
I forgot that I had promised to hang out with him today to make up for that day's incident. I was shocked! How could I forget that? I was so invested into the party that I forgot my promise?! That had never happened to me before.
This was such a big deal 'cause Jack had experienced a lot of trauma along with me in the past and me betraying him like this, affects not only him but me. I felt ashamed of myself, I lowered my head in shame. I never had broken a single promise before in the past! I always kept Jessica and him at the top of my priority list.
I wonder how I could slip up so randomly now.
I did not have anything to say, I was speechless.
Just then, I noticed that Jessica marched into the hotel at that moment. She walked past Jack who was still silent with his eyes looking at the marbled floor, and she took me to a corner of the lobby near a pillar.
"You better fix this Sam! You know you did wrong." She whispered into my ears, trying to remain calm herself to avoid creating a scene but I could sense her anger and disappointment in me. It was very evident that I messed up and hurt the both of them.
"Come with me" she said before she yanked me by my hand and took me towards Jack. She then placed Jack's arm onto her hand and dragged us both to the outside of the hotel.
We sat in the car while Jessica then put the keys into the ignition and drove us home. The whole ride was as silent and as awkward as it could be with raising tension in Jessica and Jack both!
In India the same day (It was 1pm there) ~
Michael's pov:
It was silent and gloomy; the polluted wind of the city blew some dust across my face. I stood on an elevated, deserted land. I was keeping a close eye on the 10-story building which was standing tall in front of me with my binoculars.
At that very moment, I felt my pocket vibrating. Looking at the phone screen, I realized I got a call from my assistant. I picked up the call.
Phone conversation~
"Yes Ruby?"
"Michael, have you reached the location?" asked a deep voice.
"Yes, I'm right in front of the building, should I initiate the plan now?"
"Yes! Whatever the plan is, Madam gave the go ahead"
The phone call ended, and I got the "go ahead" so I proceeded to enter the building by jumping over the spiked wall-like fence bordering the back of the building where the security guards weren't looking.
I walked casually towards the front of the building, trying not to look suspicious to anyone. I scanned the entire compound and noticed that the building didn't have any security cameras, maybe it's because it was an old building. Glad things were working in my favor.
I walked up towards the elevator situated at the far end of the well-lit lobby in a very calm manner.
There was one lady who was carrying a shopping bag filled with an abundance of groceries waiting for the elevator too.
I saw the security guards resting under the shade of their cabin while waiting for the elevator.
"This will be too easy!" I smirked. I heard the ding of the elevator and the lady and I walked in. The lady got off the sixth floor while I had to go to the seventh floor to get my work done.
The elevator door opened to the seventh floor, it was about to rain so the entire floor was gloomy and dull. I was searching for the apartment "710" after searching for a while I narrowed my eyes towards the flat located at the far corner.
The plate read "Adams, 710". That was it! I found the flat! I walked silently towards the door and carefully knocked the door. As I waited for someone to arrive, the sound of the roaring rain filled up the eerie silence of the floor.
Grace's pov:
I was busy preparing some snacks for my mother, sister and brother while they were resting like they always do in the afternoon. Baking was something that I loved to do!
I was making a chocolate cake while humming my favorite pop music like any 20-year-old would do. It was such a beautiful and relaxing day. The dull gloomy scenery that the rainy weather bought was absolutely amazing. I felt calmed and relaxed while listening to the rainfall.
Suddenly, while mixing the thick chocolatey batter, I heard a knock on the door, I didn't expect anyone, so I was a bit confused. I was thinking of all the people who could show up! The mailman, the neighbor.....
I quickly washed my hands as they were caked in flour. I never claimed to be a neat baker, ok!
I pat my hands dry on my apron and then proceeded to open the door with a smile on my face.
After opening the door, my smile immediately vanished as I saw a huge man wearing a black puffy jacket with leather boots and mask covering his face. Not to mention his hands were covered with black gloves.
I was so nervous that sweat was dripping on my face, my body was shaking with fear and my heart was beating like crazy!
He just stood there giving me a blank look and just then my eye fell to his pocket where I saw a gun!
Immediately after seeing that I attempted to scream as loud as I could to alert the neighbors who are usually asleep during the afternoons.
But I unfortunately couldn't succeed doing that as he swiftly entered the house, caught me and placed his hand on my mouth with a tight grip, preventing me from screaming. My life flashed before my eyes, was this a nightmare? I couldn't believe what was going on!
He closed the main door of the house; I tried my best to escape his grip by wiggling and kicking his leg but to no avail. He was so strong that resistance made me weaker and weaker.
He took me to the living room and since I was moving my legs in attempt to escape, I accidentally kicked the mirror we had in the room. Shards of glass painted a portion of the floor, but he didn't care at all. The noise of the impact wasn't that loud as well as it wasn't a very large mirror.
He tore the bedsheets that were placed on the couch after they saw the dryer and demanded me to tie my hands with them. He looked at me with red eyes when I shook my head to refuse.
I was scared, confused, and desperate for help. I finally gave in and tied my hands, after doing so he took some duct tape and put it on my mouth with immense force that left bruises on my face.
I was unable to speak or move, I felt defeated.
I was very scared for my family who were sleeping in their respective rooms, unaware of the intruder. I just hoped that he was just a robber and would take whatever he wanted and would leave.
He proceeded to search every corner of the house, my heart started beating so much when I saw him remove his gun from his pocket and went to my brother's and sister's shared room. I was praying to God so much to spare my siblings from this intruder.
I heard the doors click one by one which meant he opened the doors of my siblings and mom's room.
I could hear them letting out a muffled faint scream, so he must've covered their mouths too like what he did to me.
I was frightened, my body was shivering, and I felt like I couldn't breathe anymore.
What was that intruder going to do to us? What does he want from us?
