Cursed System Chapter 84

RAGNA POV... I kept running without slowing down, my grip locked around Oge’s wrist as the village lights blurred behind us, and even when she gasped out. "Where are we going?", her voice trembling with confusion and fear, I didn’t answer, because if I opened my mouth too early—if I let my guard down for even a second—I knew everything I was trying to protect might collapse right there in the open. She didn’t understand why I wouldn’t just tell her whatever plan I had back at home, and honestly, neither did I expect her to, but that didn’t stop her fear from growing heavier with every step, nor did it stop my own heart from hammering harder as I scanned the surroundings again and again, making sure we were still within the village premises and, more importantly, that no one was following us. To be safe, I activated Dash, not once but several times, my body surging forward in short, violent bursts as I deliberately twisted our path, erased our tracks, and abused the fact that my growing power now let me use it four—maybe five—times a day. When I finally slowed, my voice came out low and sharp, every word pressed with urgency. "First, don’t get scared. Second, do not scream. Third, do not ask any questions. I don’t want to draw any unwanted attention." She swallowed, her shoulders shaking. "You’re a cursed child... and I think our life might be in danger." "...Wait. What?" I already knew she would react like this. Bei The bad parts could wait. For now, I clung to the advantages. So for the next hour, I talked—nonstop—about my theories, about what demons truly were, about awakening, about abilities and evolution, about strength that wasn’t given by gods or blessings but seized by will itself, and even though I could see the unease in her eyes, Oge still tried to push it down, because she trusted me with her life. Even so, this was too big, too sudden, and no matter how calmly I explained it, I could tell her mind was struggling to process something that shattered the rules of the world she knew. I didn’t know if she had a system like mine, so I simplified everything, stripped my questions down to the basics. "Oge... after the treatment some time ago," I asked carefully, watching her face, "have you been feeling strange? Like seeing blurry things when you open your eyes?" "Not really," she said slowly. "Other than getting better after your treatments, I don’t see or feel anything unusual." She hesitated, clearly holding something back—but whatever it was, she chose silence. "I see..." I sighed inwardly, relief loosening my chest. I pointed ahead into the darkness. "Can you see that tree over there?" She squinted, her brows knitting together. "No... it’s too dark. I can’t see anything." That confirmed it. No system. "Are you ready?" I asked, summoning my interface as the familiar translucent panels bloomed before my eyes. "If so, I’ll explain everything I know about Cursed child abilities." And so I did. I walked her through each attribute, each skill, each terrifying advantage—heightened perception, overwhelming strength, reflexes sharper than thought itself, speed that bent distance, awareness that pierced the dark, and finally the most dangerous part of all: the mind, the ability to influence, dominate, and crush weaker wills. I demonstrated everything right in front of her eyes, and I watched her expressions change—from surprise, to shock, to utter disbelief—until she couldn’t stop gasping, her breath coming faster and faster as her entire world flipped upside down. Then her knees buckled. "Dammit..." I caught her just as she collapsed. "She fainted on me." ’I would have loved to stop here,’ I thought grimly as I crouched beside her, tapping her shoulder. ’But I don’t have time. Those people might arrive sooner than expected.’ After a few moments, her eyes fluttered open. "Oh my God... I just had the weirdest dream..." she muttered—until she saw my face, stiff and serious, and reality slammed back into her. I helped her sit on a patch of leaves, placed my hands firmly on her shoulders, grounding her. After a long, silent minute, she whispered, "Everything you showed me... it’s all real, isn’t it?" "Calm down, sister," I said softly. "Don’t let it crush you. And yes... but that was only the first part of the truth." I drew in a breath. "The second part is why I’m called a demon child. At first, I thought it was just the ouroboros mark on our backs, the extra eyes appearing as we grew—but that explanation isn’t enough. Think about it. Why would people suddenly start taking children away, calling them demonic and evil, promising ’cleansing’... and never bringing them back?" Her hands clenched. "What’s going on...? Are we going to die?" Panic finally broke through her composure, and before it could swallow her whole, I pulled her into my arms, holding her tightly, letting her feel that even though I was younger, I was still here—that she wasn’t alone. I stayed like that, silent, until her trembling eased. "Nothing is going to happen," I said firmly as I let go. "We’re going to be fine." Then my voice hardened. "But we need to prepare. I’ll need your help. There’s too much we still don’t know, but I’m certain those taken children were special—just like us." I met her eyes, unwavering. "So don’t be afraid. If anything happens, I’ll be right by your side. I swear it—on my life. I’ll protect our family. You, sister Ada, Mother, Father... all of you."
