Naina's POV
"I am sorry for yelling at you,” he said as we were entering the mall.
"It's okay."
Today I don’t know why the mall was so crowded.
We were getting inside when I felt someone pushed me and I stumbled.
"Sorry,” the man who pushed me said and walked away.
"Are you okay?" Ranveer asked standing behind me.
"Yes,” I said and he stood behind me protectively.
"Let's go,” he said as he kept his hand on my shoulder and was behind me protecting me from everyone.
That small touch on my shoulder gave me goosebumps.
We were walking towards the ladies section.
"You will wear gown, right?" he asked.
"No I will wear a saree." I said.
"What?" he asked.
"Yes, now I know how to wear a saree as someone taught me. You know who he is, right?” I asked and I could see a hint of small smile appearing on his lips but he quickly hid it.
"You should have told me. We would have gone to the saree shop near the mall. Anyway let's go,” he said as he held my hand which gave me tingles.
We were going outside the hall when both of our eyes landed on something.
Lingerie section.
I remembered our last encounter here and I looked at him to find him already looking at him.
"Let's go,” I said and we went out and he crossed the road and we were standing in front of a papri chat stall.
"Two papri chat,” he told to the bhaiya and I was shocked.
"I don’t want it,” I said.
"But I have already asked him to make it and look at how happy he is,” I looked at him and he was making the chat happily with a smile on his face and that made me shut my mouth.
It was as if nothing has changed even though everything has changed.
Why he is pushing my hopes up?
Why is he making me feel the things which he can only make me feel ?
He gave me my chat and took one in his hand.
I was having chat after so many months
I have one bad habit, I want someone with me always.
If I am alone I will not go anywhere and even if I go somewhere to buy something I will not eat anything because I always want a company with me and Ranveer had put my high hopes because we were always together.
After our marriage I never ate or went anywhere without him.
Firstly when I left his house I felt lost as if someone has left me around thousands of strangers but then I remembered about what he said about my ability of painting and I should teach children who need it.
I felt his hand on my lips and he was wiping something.
"Sorry there was a piece of papad on your lips,” he said and my eyes widened when he ate that piece instead of throwing it.
Why Ranveer ?
Why are you making me feel like nothing has changed?
He used to always do things like this and said that he loved making me blush.
I concentrated on finishing the chat and after our chat finished he gave a 100 rs note to bhaiya.
"Keep the change. Take something home for your family,” he said.
"Thank you sir ji. May god's grace shine upon both of you forever,” he said making us smile.
"Thank you,” we both said at the same time and left the place.
Then we were walking towards the saree shop which was few minutes away from the mall as per Ranveer said.
We were walking on the road and a truck passed by me making me scared that I would have died if I moved an inch.
"Are you okay?" Ranveer asked and I nodded in a yes.
"I would have died if something happened to you,” he said as he pushed me to the side and was walking through the road,” he said making me surprised for the second time.
Still my heart was beating fast thinking that I would have died.
He held my hand tightly and I relaxed under his touch.
We walked towards the saree shop and we went inside.
Ranveer asked the shopkeeper to show me sarees for the party.
"This will look beautiful on you,” he showed me a beautiful saree.
"And see this saree, you are so beautiful and this saree will increase your beauty,” he showed me another saree and I smiled at the choice of his words.
"Let's go,” Ranveer said and pulled me outside the shop.
"But we have not bought anything,” I said as I pulled my hand out of his grip.
"Let's go Naina,” he said each and every word slowly as if I was a child.
"But those were so beautiful,” I told him.
"Have you seen how the shopkeeper was clearly flirting with you?" he asked.
"Flirting? That's his job Ranveer."
"His job is to show his customers saree, not flirt with them,” he said.
"Okay then from where we will buy saree?" I asked.
"I will buy a saree for you and bring it to your house,” he said.
"You are crazy!" I sighed.
"I can't tolerate someone flirting with you Naina,” he said.
"But I didn't think he was flirting. He was doing his job of showing me sarees and complemented me. That's it,” I said stubbornly.
"So is it okay for you that he complemented you? And even if it is okay for you it is not okay for me. I can't tolerate it. Now let's go,” he said walking towards the car and this time also he put me at the side and walking through the road holding my hand.
We went towards his car and he opened the door and I sat in the car and he went on the other side and sat on the driver's seat.
I could sense he was very angry by the way he was clutching the gear tightly.
"Ranveer it's okay. I will wait for you to bring saree to my house,” I said as I removed his hand from the gear and took his hand in mine and I felt him relaxed as I took his hands in mine.
It felt so natural.
As if nothing has changed even though everything changed.
