Jael didn’t bother going through the trouble of waiting for the main gates to be opened up for him, parking outside, and walking in through the side gate.
He went straight for Asher’s bedroom, he could already picture what he would come to meet but a small voice in his head was trying to convince him that Asher couldn’t actually break free of his bonds.
He really hoped that was the case, he wanted to believe that the Alpha wasn’t just letting himself be held captive.
Jael nearly broke down the door to Asher’s room, he could already hear Asher dryly scolding him for his brashness.
It was all in his head though, because the Alpha was nowhere to be found. The leather straps had been wrenched free off the chain links, only his ankle straps left behind.
Jael scratched his head, of course, of fucking course.
He wasn’t worried about the safety of the Mafia King, but if Asher were to lose control and hurt Caspian badly, the Alpha would take the hardest hit.
He wasn’t even going to go after Asher, he would hate to get between him and the fools who had chosen the worst possible time to pull this move.
Jael lit a cigarette as he walked out the door of the bedroom, he would have to arrange for maids to come clean up the room.
He had to admit, he was relieved to go back to his previous duties, there was nothing fun about being a Mafia King.
Once again, he hadn’t been able to prevent Asher from doing something crazy... back to damage control, it was.
Caspian looked around at the unfamiliar faces when his blindfold was taken off, making a face. "Where’s Nikolai?"
He wouldn’t be this confident in front of the Alpha but it was rather startling to open his eyes to find himself in a warehouse instead of a fancy private room like the last time.
And even worse, the crazy Mafia King was nowhere to be found.
"M-Mafia King Nikolai?" A scrawny man stuttered, whispering the name like if he said it too loud, the Alpha would materialize right in the warehouse.
"Yes," Caspian patiently answered.
"Why the fuck would he be here?" He scowled, shucking his leather jacket closer.
Caspian fell silent at that, starting to realize that he might have had a misconception about what was going on.
Mafia King Nikolai had nothing to do with this, and he might actually be in real danger.
"The real question should be why you’re a guy," The scrawny man went on, inspecting him as he walked around the chair he was tied to. "Did you losers grab the wrong person?"
The group of men around shared confused looks, looking just as stumped.
"That’s impossible," One spoke up.
"We’ve kept tabs on the Omega since she... he was at the mansion."
The scrawny man returned to inspect him, "You’re a male Omega, aren’t ya?" He asked, reaching out a hand to confirm for himself.
Caspian didn’t hesitate to chomp on the intruding hand, eyes flashing. "Don’t touch me!"
The Beta grabbed his jaw cruelly, "Don’t make me fucking gag you..." He materialized a gun out of thin air, "With a gun."
That made Caspian stiffen, flinching when the greasy man fondled his chest to his satisfaction.
"I didn’t think Mafia King Asher swung both ways," He chortled, thankfully retreating.
Caspian pressed his legs together although he wore cargo pants, his eyes stinging with unshed tears.
"Just sit pretty like that," His captor lit a cigarette, shifty eyes appreciatively taking him in. "I just need Jael to send me my due and I’ll let you go."
Caspian doubted that Jael would do that, the Beta had been rather eager to get rid of him.
"Already sent the message?" He directed at the men hanging around, a cloud of smoke obscuring his features.
"Yeah," They gave him a response.
Toma grinned, his false gold teeth flashing. The Omega was barely important if he had been sent out of the mansion, which meant he was the perfect tool to nudge the stubborn second-in-command to accept his offer.
He wasn’t asking for much, considering that they had thrown away twenty-five million on the railroad-thin Omega in front of him, they should be able to afford him.
He approached the Omega again, blowing smoke in his pretty face... he was really pretty...
If Asher was done with him, maybe he would be able to buy some time with him. He also knew Mafia King Nikolai so he probably wouldn’t come cheap.
But with his incoming paycheck, he would be able to afford him with ease.
Caspian scrunched up his nose at the constant barrage of cigarette smoke.
He never imagined he would prefer Nikolai over anyone else, but at least the Mafia King’s cigarette smoke didn’t smell like the interior of a power plant.
"How much do you charge?" The Beta drawled.
All Caspian could focus on was his teeth, having a difficult time processing his words.
"No need to act coy now." He held his face again, his grip gentler this time. "Whores get nowhere acting coy."
"I don’t know what you’re talking about," Caspian denied, frightful now.
His captor let go of him, clicking his tongue angrily. "Feel like you’re too good for me?" He asked, rifling through his jacket for something.
Caspian really hoped it wasn’t a gun. He was completely lost, he couldn’t follow what he was talking about.
Fortunately, he just brought out a little jar of pills, popping a couple in his mouth.
He thought that it was a pretty strange time to be taking meds but he just sat back and waited for what he would say next.
But his captor didn’t say anything more, closing the distance between them.
The only warning Caspian got was the Beta’s oddly dilated pupils, right before the man kissed him roughly.
He knew it was a bad idea considering that the greasy man had a gun on him but he couldn’t stop himself, biting his lips hard enough to draw blood.
His captor drew away in disbelief, backhanding him across the face.
"Toma!" A chorus of voices called out, horror in their tones.
The sound of someone slowly clapping rang loud in the mostly empty warehouse, "Don’t stop now," A painfully familiar voice said slowly, promising a world of pain.
