Tory's POV
After the lunch break, I and the rest members of the school's committee had already planned out everything needed for the fundraiser. Mr. Jenkins was excited as he went upstairs to the studio to announce the date of the much-awaited fundraiser.
I sat down with Rex at my right side in the next column and Nate at my left side on the other column. They kept having these staring contests that confused me.
Before our chemistry teacher came into the class, the intercom came on.
" Good afternoon students!" Mr. Jenkins' thunderous voice said through the intercom.
" You know who is speaking!" The students yelled in excitement, some laugh out hysterically as they could picture him hitting his face with his palm. It was the student's sworn duty to say that line for him whenever he gave his announcement.
" Well, you guys already know. Anyway, I am thrilled to be announcing the date for the much-anticipated fundraiser for this year's maiden edition of the Date-A-Thon!"
The whole school went wild, I mean, I knew they'd be thrilled about the fundraiser thing especially since Rex, Nate, Jake, and the rest of the popular kids had said they'd be going - I just didn't expect people to react this way.
" Two weeks from now, the Date-A-Thon will commence at the JK event center. So come with your friends from other schools, to have a date for a day with the student whose name you spin!...
" I hope I get you Tory!" Trent said as he walked past our class and immediately made a run for it - thinking Rex would get all possessive.
" There's a movie theatre, video games, lots of unnecessary rides in my opinion like the Ferris wheel -"
That part got some students laughing.
" - there'll be food, drinks, whatever you need to have a magical night with your date. So don't miss this for anything. Who knows who your lucky boyfriend for a day - or girlfriend for a day will be?"
" Who knows?!!" A loud yell from the senior class kept ringing.
" Also, let's not forget the brains behind this amazing project - Victorya Williams!"
The students in the class started clapping - an act Zach started which eventually morphed into people chanting " Tory!!!" In some classes.
I covered my face as Zach started dancing to the chants of my name and laughed when he blew me kisses. Rex didn't care about it, neither did Nate - by the way, he seemed so grim all of a sudden.
" Yes yes, that's okay now. Let me do well to remind you that right after that is your continuous assessments!"
The whole school launched into a loud groan.
" Yes yes, school is more important than fun, so enjoy the fun while it lasts. P. S don't you dare bring alcohol to the fundraiser, anyone caught will have me to deal with, thank you!"
The classes went into immediate chattering as everyone talked about the much-anticipated event. I was proud of myself, this whole thing started as a way of me getting back at Nate for including me in a football match I never wanted to be in. Now, it's something everyone's looking forward to - well everyone except Nate.
I'll have to talk to him later, I don't wanna talk to him about it in a place where Rex can see both of us. I don't need two jealous guys fighting over me.

" Hey!" Penny said standing with her two minions as I stepped out of school. School had ended and I was looking for Nate but I couldn't find him, there were no football practices today so where is he?
" Hi, Penny" I said smiling at her.
" So, I'm still waiting for my apology." She said with a dramatic frown.
" I'm sorry, I totally forgot. I Tory Williams is officially sorry - for real."
" Wow, that sucked." She said with a laugh.
" I know, but it also rocks because I don't apologize much."
" Obviously, so are we cool now?" She asked.
" Yeah we are but if you don't mind me asking, why did you apologize to me? I mean, what's the REAL reason"
She pursed her lips and then sighed.
" That whole drama with you made me realize how much people don't like me and that's not good."
" That's it?" I asked, unsatisfied with her answer.
" Just tell her Penny, it's no use hiding it now that you're friends." The brunette said with a pixie cut said rolling her eyes.
" Fine, I wanna be prom Queen." She said and then I nodded getting it now.
" Don't we all?" I said with a smirk, " anyway, no worries, we're still cool"
" Are you competing?"
" No, probably when I'm a senior."
" Or I could put your name in the list." She said with a mischievous grin before she walked away while I yelled " don't you dare! " at her.
I didn't exactly believe the whole we're cool thing but I'll play along just to see how true or false it is.
I tapped my foot on the ground impatiently as I looked for Nate's number and smiled when I saw that he had saved it on my phone as " Sexiest Man alive" - dork.
" Where are you? Aren't we going to see your therapist?" I texted him.
He immediately replied - " be right there, just had to handle a few things. Tell your driver to stop at the place we talked about earlier and I'll come to pick you up there"
" Okay," I replied and started to find our car when I decided to relieve myself in the restroom first before I go.
Walking briskly, I entered the ladies room but unfortunately, all the stalls were occupied - what the hell?!
I groaned in frustration as I knew I would pee right there and then if I wait for these girls. I turned around and headed for the boys' restroom and it was empty! Thank God!
I ran into one of the stalls and quickly urinated but just as I started peeing, I heard someone enter, I prayed he would leave soon so I decided to wait for him to finish peeing before I leave.
Curiosity got the better part of me when another person entered and I started hearing sounds of kissing. Oh my Gosh!
I knew I shouldn't have looked but I wanted to see the gay couple but when I opened my stall slightly, it took a lot in me not to scream.
It was Toni! Kissing some nerdy looking fellow passionately. When she eventually broke the kiss, he moved a little to the right giving me a better view of his face - shit! It's Troas!
Wait, that's absurd she's never mentioned anything good about that boy before. All she does is.... complain about how nerdy he is! And how he'd been much hotter if he'd dress more like the " cute guy he is"
So she's liked him all this while!
Troas and Toni stood there staring at each other as if they were surprised that they just kissed each other passionately.
" Well don't look at me like that, you asked for it when you kept staring at me like that at lunch," Toni said as she arranged some of her hair and removed it from her face.
" I wasn't staring at you, you were staring at me!" He argued as.
" Whatever, okay? What am I supposed to do when I'm in love with a nerd!" She said her eyes suddenly filled with tears.
" You're the one who is embarrassed by me, I don't see what's so terrible about me."
Toni's eyes widened in fear, " no-no, nothing's wrong with you. I - I'm just not, I can't just date you because I don't know if people would mock me - you know."
" Neither could I Toni, I told you how I felt about you but - you're way out of my league....it's okay. Let's just pretend this never happened."
" What! No, look Troas don't do that. Just give me some time, I need to think.
" You said that a month ago"
" I know, please. Okay, you know I love you."
" I love you too"
He pulled her in for an embrace and then he kissed her one last time before he left and then after a while of her stalling, she left too.
I immediately rushed out of the restroom and then I found Nate waiting by his car with a very irritated expression on his face - shit.
" Hi" I whispered as I tried to walk past him to join my sisters in our car but he pulled me back and carried me on his shoulders before he put me in his car and sped off.
" Nate!" I shrieked as I tried to rearrange my hair and glare at him.
" We need to talk!" That was all he could yell back.
Great, he's back to being an ass hole now.
