Nate's POV
I sat down at lunch, unable to eat my lunch because I was thinking about how bad today went.
Honestly, I don't regret breaking Troas's thumb, what I regret was that I should've broken more than just a thumb - at least that would be worth the punishment I'm getting.
"Tory is a game-changer" I said to myself.
For two years I have remained unpunished because Mr Jenkins feared that if he punished me, I would keep to my word and expose his dirty little secret - his disgusting sex tape that I found in Tiffany's bedroom.
That was what I threatened him with two years ago when he had called me in for almost assaulting a teacher. He was so shocked that I had it and he had just gotten appointed principal of the school, I knew the last thing he needed was for me to leak the sex tape and destroy his image.
What he didn't know was that I honestly wouldn't have the guts to post something that could implicate Tiffany in as much as I love to hurt her, I wouldn't go that far.
The bell had been rung for the end of lunch and I still didn't eat a thing. I tossed the tray aside and walked to my locker, dropping some notes in it before I made up my mind to skip the rest of school, that's when I saw Tory.
She styled her hair differently, it was straightened completely and left freely as it reached her butt. She was talking to Joanne and she suddenly smiled showing her dimples. Her hips were swaying from left to right as she and Joanne headed for her locker.
She didn't even look at me, not that I wanted her to anyway, but, I just couldn't understand why I was so attracted to her. When she eventually looked at me, a mixture of anger and desire hit me as she smirked. Obviously enjoying the fact that I'm literally the assistant janitor now.
" Hey janitor" she taunted and I glared at her.
" Aww, you're not going to mouth off as usual?"
" Tory, I'm clearly trying to not get pissed at you"
" You know, you deserve way worse than washing the piss in the toilet"
I lost my mind and moved forward to her, " if you're not careful, I'll start hurting your other friends and it won't be me breaking just a thumb, it'll be way worse!"
She didn't even move, nor did she get frightened by my threat. She just leaned forward and as her lips slightly brushed my ears, my body felt hot, damn I really wanted to kiss her.
" If you do that then I'll tell the whole school what a suicidal psychopath you are."
I moved back in shock, how did she know about that?
" Yeah, I saw you that day Nate. I'll tell everyone, so you better not come near any of my friends" she said, her face seething with satisfaction as she walked away.
Just then Rex came down the stairs that lead to the chemistry lab and immediately went to kiss Tory.
I was angry that his hands were on her hips, but I didn't know why. Though I looked away, when I heard the sound of a door opening and closing as well as soft moans, I could tell that they were having sex in the janitor's room.
So they had to make me witness that huh?
Payback is a bitch.
I turned around and started to head out when Isabella called my name. Right, I had forgotten that I have a girlfriend.
I turned around to face her and she looked at me with so much hurt in her eyes, I had stood her up some days ago and I didn't even apologize for it.
Yet, when I had set my room ablaze that day and was taken to the hospital afterward, Isabella was by my side all day.
I'm supposed to love her the way she loves me but I just can't get myself to do it.
" Nate, you've been avoiding me" she said.
" Umm, I'm sorry."
" Can we talk?"
" No, I can't. I'm in a bad mood, I need to go home"
" Nate, why are you pushing me away?" She said, tears gathering in her eyes.
Damn, I'm a douchebag.
" I knew it, you were just.... Using me" she said as a tear dropped from her eyes.
" I'm sorry"
" You don't even deny it"
" Isabella, you've been an amazing friend to me and I can't just tell you how much I appreciate your help but... I'm not in love with you"
I had wanted to sound more emotional when I said those words to her, I wanted her to feel my emotions pouring out through my words but all I could do was say it like a dry, boring, recital.
" You clearly prepared a speech for this" she said wiping a tear from her eyes.
" I-"
" You're gonna regret this. She is too" she said, her eyes seething with anger.
" What?"
" Tory, you like her, even though you want to hurt her for some bullshit reason, you fucking like her, you're infatuated with her!"
I stood there, though I was shocked at her declaration I didn't show it.
" You want her so bad but she's madly in love with Rex. Let me tell you something, there's never gonna be anyone who would love you no matter how messed you are like I did" she said before she walked away in a half run.
