Colt watched as the last wrestler was heading to the ring. Holly threw the fire from her mouth and the crowd erupted. It was clear they were all rooting for her. Colt looked over at Wraith and the big man gave him a nod.
As Holly got in the ring, she strutted around and looked like she was ready to destroy the place. Colt almost shivered seeing her that way. Sexy and intimidating, wrapped up in one small little spitfire of a woman, and he loved her to the core.
Wraith handed his title belt to the referee who placed it in a small cage with Colt’s. Then hoisted above the ring. The winner had to climb to the top of a ladder to reach it, then unlock the cage to get the belts. If they did, the person would be declared the winner. But not before a huge beating came their way first.
As the three stood sizing each other up, the ring bell tolled. Wraith went for Holly, unforgiving and ready to fight. She dodged his move and Colt went in for the attack on Wraith. Letting them battle it out, she rolled from the ring and grabbed a folding chair from the announce table. A little equalizer to even her odds.
Wraith threw Colt out of the ring, and Holly went on the attack, hitting him with the chair. Wraith jumped down and slammed her into the announce table.
Grabbing her side, she winced from her hip hitting the table.
She looked back at her brother, egging him on. “That's all you got? Bring it on, princess!”
“Oh, little sister wants to play. Well, by all means, let’s play.”
Wraith went toward her, and she swung the chair, hitting him in the head with it. Wraith stumbled back, grabbing his now bleeding forehead. He reached up, feeling the blood flow, and smiled. He lived for this.
He maniacally looked up at Holly and a sting of fear hit her. But only for a second because in that same moment Colt hit Wraith from the side. The two rolled into the barricades, hitting each other with fist of fury. The three went at each other like rabid dogs. Over and over hitting, punching, and using everything available to incapacitate their opponent.
The crowd, and everyone backstage, was in shock. Holly was going toe to toe with two of the toughest wrestlers in the business and wasn’t missing a beat.
Wraith had broken from the brawl to leave Colt and Holly to fight each other. He went straight for the ladder placed on top of the ramp. He grabbed it and turned back, seeing Colt running toward him. Wraith went full speed, hitting Colt with the ladder. Wraith rolled into the ring to set up the ladder as Colt and Holly made their way to the mat.
Holly, Wraith, and Colt looked at each other in a standstill. The ladder was in place and it only took climbing to get to the belt. Holly stepped back, looking scared to approach them. Colt and Wraith took that as a chance to take advantage, and both took separate sides to climb up. Once at the top, the two started hitting each other, forgetting the woman on the mat.
Holly watched and realized neither of them had a good grip on the ladder. She knew what to do. She started shaking the ladder, and they both looked down at the same time to see what was happening. Wraith and Colt head-butted each other, accidentally knocking them off the ladder onto their backs, stunned silly.
Holly saw it knocked the air out of them. She ran to the ladder and quickly made her way up. Opening the cage and grabbing the belt. She jumped down and looked around. Suddenly Wraith and Colt sat up and looked furious. Her eyes got wide as terror took over.
Holly wrapped the belt in her arms and ran from the ring, up the ramp, and past everything backstage. She ran past the crowd of wrestlers, not stopping for anyone to congratulate her. There was no way she was going to let her angry boyfriend or brother catch up to her. She was sure they were ready to kill her. She didn’t stop until she reached the parking garage to catch her breath.
Wraith and Colt finally realized what happened and started laughing. Wraith flopped back on the mat like a starfish and chuckled. His little sister beat him. He was proud but also a tad annoyed she got one over on him. But she did it. He knew she could.
Colt nudged Wraith. “We better get backstage.”
Wraith nodded, and they left the ring, boosting up the crowd as the cameras for the main event shut off.
Colt and Wraith followed the seas of wrestlers, telling them where she headed. Cyrus was following not far behind.
“Holly? Babe? Where are you?”
“I’m not coming out! You both will kill me!”
Wraith laughed. “No, we won’t. We’re proud of you. You won fair and square.”
“Promise?”
“Promise, little one.”
“Pinky promise?”
“Pinky promise.” Wraith laughed.
Holly walked out, dragging the heavy belts behind her. She looked up with her big doe eyes and smiled a huge grin. “I beat you.”
Colt smiled at her. “We know. Cheater.”
Holly stuck her tongue out at him. She lifted the heavyweight belt to throw it over her shoulder when she noticed something duct-taped to the back.
“What is this?”
She pulled it off and saw a diamond ring taped to the back of the belt. She got wide eyed as she looked up at Colt in awe. Colt gave her a wink and walked to her with a gentle peck on the lips. He placed the ring on her finger, sealing it with a kiss.
Cyrus stepped up behind Wraith, checking out what was going on. “What is that?”
Colt felt his blood run cold, and he looked over his shoulder at Cyrus glaring at him. “Um.”
“That better not be what I think it is, Wesson.”
Colt laughed and ran as Cyrus darted after him. They ran around the cars and through the garage, swerving right and left.
Colt made a U-turn and ran past Holly, laughing. “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”
Holly laughed as Cyrus caught up, and Colt used her as a human shield. He kissed her fast and ran away again.
“WELL… WILL YOU?”
Wraith and Holly were cracking up laughing as Cyrus chased Colt around the parking garage. Now most of the IWX roster was standing around watching and laughing at the commotion as well.
“HOLLY! I need an answer before he destroys me.”
“YES! YES! I’LL MARRY YOU! YOU CRAZY MAN!”
“I LOVE YOU HOLLY!”
“I LOVE YOU TOO COLT!” Yelling to him across the garage.
Colt slid over a car to avoid Cyrus. “Can’t catch me, old man.”
“You’re a dead man, Colt Wesson!”
Isis and Gage pushed through the crowd and hugged Holly. “Congratulations.”
Holly and Isis laid their heads on each other as they always did. They watched Cyrus chase his soon to be brother-in-law in amusement. Cyrus was now laughing along with everyone else and was just teasing with Colt. In reality, he was happy for his sister.
Wraith joined in the group hug and just chuckled at his crazy family’s shenanigans. Nothing was ever normal with them, and he wouldn’t change a thing.
His wife wheeled up next to him in her chair and looked up with pure love. Wraith kneeled next to her with a loving kiss.
Finally, Cyrus caught up to Colt and tackled him to the ground, attacking him with little playful pecks of kisses all over his face. Colt tried to dodge the creepy affection at all costs, covering his face.
“Gross! Get off me!”
Cyrus hugged him like a teddy bear. “Welcome to the family, brother.”
Colt wiped his face in a grossed out look, trying to push Cyrus off him. “Help me! He’s going to take my soul!”
Cyrus just laughed while continuing to hug Colt with a big cheesy grin. “Give in to the love, my brother. Give in to the love!”
Holly and Isis looked at each other with pure peace and joy. It was a crazy family, but it was theirs.
