" She couldn't accept that it was over between you two. She said if she couldn't have you, then no one will " Ava explained, her voice laden with the weight of the truth.
Jack interjected, his tone grim. " She set up a situation where Ava was in danger, using her childhood friend to get to her. You, Alex, you risked everything to save her "
Alex frowned " Angel? " He mumbled to himself and to them, he asked " Her friend is Hunter? "
Ava nodded " Yeah, I'm sorry. You did warn me to stay away from Hunter but I thought... I thought... " She couldn't look him in the face and kept her head down in shame.
Alex's eyes widened in realization, the pieces slowly falling into place. " I... I remember now, flashes of that day. But what happened after the accident? "

" Please Alexander " She said with pleading eyes.
