It was still early in the morning, but I decided to try and talk to Steven. So I hobbled to Steven's room with my splint, which was a little broken. He also showed me this during my first tour of the pack house.
On the way I thought about how best to apologize. Will he forgive me? Hopefully it will go back to how it used to be. I don't want to lose my friendship with him. It's the most important thing and the only thing I have left.
Arrived in front of his room door, I hesitated. Maybe he's still asleep? Should I wake him up? But before I could even knock, the room door was thrown open. Steven stormed out and gave me a tight hug, which surprised me quite a bit. I still have to get used to the fact that he's a werewolf and that he can hear me with his good wolf ears.
"Shit man, Aurelia. I got worried yesterday when the Alpha said you were gone." He said upset.
"A good morning to you too."
"It wasn't until late in the evening that the news came that you were fine. But when I went to see you to apologize, you were already asleep."
Did he want to apologize? With me? I took advantage of him.
"Why do you want to apologize to me? I should apologize to you because I'm sorry I dragged you into this."
"And I'm sorry for overreacting." He pulled away from me and cupped my face in his hands. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, just a few scrapes and bruises. Oh, and I think my splint is gone," I said, pointing to my right leg. "I guess I was lucky that I was already injured, otherwise the wolf would have bitten my leg off."
I decided to take it all lightly and started to grin because of it. Also, I didn't want Steven to feel bad in any way. Steven just looked at me with a pitying smile. Then he pulled me into his room and we sat on his bed.
"I'll take you to the pack hospital later, provided the Alpha doesn't mind, as he doesn't seem to like it when I'm around. I'm just wondering why?"
"Well, I think he wanted me as a fuck doll," I said, which made Steven growl.
"You really should stay away from him. Alphas can be quite dangerous. So I don't understand why you wanted to tease him yesterday morning?" He rested his hand on my thigh and started drawing circles with his fingers. It didn't bother me. Steven was my closest confidante anyway.
"I don't know myself, but I do know that it was really a stupid move." I gave him an encouraging smile. Then I took his hand from his thigh in mine. "What is this between the two of us?"
Steven put his other hand on my cheek and I leaned into it. "I'm still trying to find out." But then I remembered this mate thing. No matter how much I like Steven, I don't want to get hurt.
"What about your mate?"
"I haven't found her yet and I don't want to either. I don't need nobody else All I ever wanted was you." Towards the end his voice dropped to a whisper and he leaned his head towards me.
His lips drew closer to mine and I knew what he was up to. I just couldn't. Not now. I don't know why, but I couldn't get arsenic out of my head. It always stings my heart to think about him and how happy he is with Savanna.
Why am I just jealous?
So I turned my head away from him and stood up with a start.
"I can't do this right now Steven. Please give me time to think." Then I left Steven's room again.
I walked down the hall to my room. Just as I was about to turn the corner and see Arsen and Savanna standing in the hallway... I quickly leaned back against the wall to listen, hoping they couldn't smell me or hear my over-excited heartbeat.
"We used a condom. So how could this happen?" Arsen snapped at Savanna.
"Do you really think that's 100% protection? Condoms can burst." Savanna said, also upset.
"Fuck," Arsen cursed. Wasn't he excited about becoming a father?
"Arsenic baby, hey look! I saw a doctor at the pack hospital yesterday. He did an ultrasound. Here's our pup, the next alpha of this pack." Then it got quiet and I assumed she was showing Arsenic an ultrasound.
"It's going to be a boy?" Arsen asked, clearly calmer now, although desperation could be heard in his voice.
"I don't know yet, but I would like to."
"FUCK," it sounded again and then I heard a loud bang. "If it's a boy, I'll of course do my duty as an alpha. But that doesn't apply if it's a girl. Then you're on your own! "
Then I heard another bang. Only this time it sounded like a door slamming shut. Next steps were heard in my direction and then Savanna turned the corner. She looked at me naturally and smiled at me with a victorious smile. What does she have against me?
Then she disappeared, leaving me here a little overwhelmed. When I went to my room, I noticed a hole in the hallway wall.
Why did arsenic hit the wall? However, I shouldn't be interested in that. I shouldn't be interested in arsenic. So I went to my room and put on new clothes. I noticed that I was only wearing Arsen's T-shirt and my panties.
Oh god, who changed my clothes?
