I had to go away for a few days to set up new territory boundaries with the Blackshadow pack. I actually wanted to do this a week ago, but Aurelia intervened.
Since the meeting took place in my pack last time, it took place in the other pack this time. Fortunately, this matter was now resolved and I had time for Aurelia again. I had forbidden that idiot Steven to go out with her, so now I could show her the rest of the village in peace.
I hoped that maybe she would finally talk to me again and that I would get a chance to get to know her better. Of course I could just ask Steven for information, but that would probably be too obvious. He would immediately notice that something was wrong with me.
When I got to Aurelia's room, I unlocked the door and entered. She was sitting on her bed bored and when she saw me a small smile came to her face.
I didn't want to rush it right away and, as always, started with simple questions.
"How are you?" I asked and she started to smile, which looked awfully cute.
"Fine and you?" she answered me. It made me happy that she finally answered my questions.
"I see you finally found your voice again" but then it occurred to me that it's probably thanks to Steven, which made me jealous. This made my already deep voice even deeper: "Is that because of your new guard ?".
"Perhaps."
That was enough for me and I almost lost my temper. Why is she happy around him?
"You're taking me for a walk now!" I clarified in my alpha voice.

Since I still wanted to go out with her, this time I tried a simple question: "I wanted to ask you if you would like to go for a walk with me? Then I could show you around the grounds a little."
At first she didn't answer. I was about to start to leave the room when I finally heard a hesitant nod.

Arsen led me out through the many corridors of the pack house. I still needed the crutches, after all a break like that doesn't heal that quickly.
Together we walked around for a while between the smaller wooden log houses. In the meantime, I memorized everything out here in case I wanted to flee later, or had to. Who knows what those werewolves are going to do to me.
For once, pack members that we met from time to time didn't stare at me, but made themselves small and showed their necks. This confused me. However, I think that's because arsenic is the so-called alpha and thus something like the king here, as he explained it to me.
Finally we were a few meters away from the houses and were now walking around in the forest.

My heart started beating a little faster at that thought. But then I saw how the trees around us began to clear and we finally stood in a clearing. There were also some other people here who were fighting, so I dismissed my previous thoughts.

But I didn't want to watch this show any longer and stand there stupidly, so I decided to hobble closer to the fighting characters. There were two boys, I guess about my age. A third person stood next to them and watched the fight attentively.
It was the one who was briefly in my hospital room. If I remember correctly he was Arsens Beta, whose name was Costa. I also remembered that he wasn't too happy about my presence.
When I finally got up beside him, all I could manage was a soft "Hi."
"Hello Aurelia, it's an honor for me to finally get to know you properly," he said in a surprisingly friendly tone. I was surprised that he was so nice to me at all, after all he demanded to 'eliminate' me at the time.
"I'm glad too," I said shyly.
"Why are you out here alone? Where's Arsenic?" he asked, looking around until his eyes finally settled on Arsenic and his dolly, who were still clinging to each other and almost looking like they were about to devour each other. At least, that's what she looked like.
"Ah I see... Savanna must have gotten jealous. I can imagine how that must be for you."

I stubbornly crossed my arms across my chest and stared at the fighting boys. Suddenly, however, their bones began to crack and they made strange contortions.
The next moment two wolves faced each other and growled at each other. One had dark brown fur and the other gray with black spots.
That should probably be proof enough for me that werewolves really existed. The last spark of doubt has now disappeared.
I gaped at her, my heart beating faster than usual. How to turn from a human into a wolf. How is that possible?
They started fighting again. Only this time it looked much more aggressive than before. They jumped at each other, tried to grab each other and kept fighting. Until then suddenly the brown wolf's eyes shot to me and this time he started growling at me.
"Cody!" Costa said, now standing protectively in front of me. But the wolf's gaze was still fixed on mine.
That can't be good? I knew they didn't want me here.
"Don't move!" Costa said, walking towards the brown wolf.
However, when he jumped and avoided Costa, I started to run. Unfortunately, I still had the splint on my right leg, so progress was slow. I wouldn't get away from him for long. In addition, it hurt with every step that I landed on the injured leg.
I knew the wolf was behind me because I could hear its large paws hitting the forest floor. And the next moment his heavy weight landed on me and yanked me to the ground.
It didn't do my still broken ribs any good, as they started hurting like hell again on impact.
I cried out, it hurt, and I also sense that this must be the end of me.
