ARIAN STORM: CLAIMING HER Chapter 60

~Amy~ In the middle of episode four, we were interrupted by someone unlocking the door. This person, who from the footsteps could only be Mason, rushed into the kitchen and turned on the water. I didn't know exactly what he was doing either. I didn't care either, as long as he didn't have a girl with him, killed himself,.. Where did the first thought come from? I couldn't care less who he brought into his house. In 11 days I would be 16 anyway and look for my mate. I could live with him and not really be a burden to Mason and his family. "Do you want to watch?" asked Faye with her mouth full. "Finish your chew first and then ask again." Mason said with a mischievous smile on his face. I would have liked to have received the smile. Ok stop brain. What shoud that? Before my thoughts could go any further, Faye had eaten and now asked again. Mason agreed and sat on my right. Clearly too close. Now I could only focus on Mason and no longer on the series. Thank you Mason, really. His left hand placed itself on my thigh and I gasped for air. Mason glanced at me before pulling his hand away. What exactly was that supposed to be? At eight o'clock Faye went home and Mason and I had dinner. He was as still as before, but not so cold. I didn't know exactly where this change of mood came from. That's when I realize I don't know a lot. Why Mason did this to me. Or why my body behaved this way around him. I probably wouldn't have really bothered any boy if he had ignored me, but the way my body reacted the way it did, it bothered me. It not only bothered me, it rankled. He should stop doing that. Still, I was a little too proud to admit that. Let him continue to be so distant from me. Ok no, then I would only be lying to myself.. "Amy" Mason snapped me out of my thoughts. "Hmm" I said and turned to him. I hadn't noticed that I had turned. "I said it might be good if we got to know each other better now that we're roommates," he said. It might have been a good idea, but a kind of queasy feeling spread through me. Ignoring that, I agreed and we started some cliche question and answer stuff. "Let's start easy. Favorite color?" Mason asked me. i grinned I meant "cream white". He raised an eyebrow questioningly. "Why creamy white?" I shrugged my shoulders. Why creamy white? Maybe because my room was that color, or maybe because I couldn't get a wolf from the forest out of my head. More likely the latter. "I saw a creamy white wolf once. The color stuck in my mind forever." I admitted. Now I was faced with a question. "Favorite Food?" I asked him before he could comment on my previous answer. "Schnitzel" he meant. Why didn't I even ask. "Why can't you turn into a wolf yet?" It was clear that this question came up. "I lived near the Rocky Mountains and since it's always very cold there, we transformed for the first time when we were about 16 years old. Apart from the packs in Greenland, those in the Rocky Mountains are the only ones who have this trait If we didn't have that, the puppies would probably die from a common cold." I explained to him. Mason kept looking at me until he took his eyes off me. "Can you show me your wolf?" I asked shyly. I know it's not really a question to ask, but my brain wanted to ask it. And I mean.. it doesn't cost anything to ask, right? "Okay" he replied and confessed to undress. Sure, it wasn't anything I hadn't seen in him when I thought back to the night before last, but it was uncomfortable nonetheless. So I turned away and waited for a sign from him. I heard his bones crack and covered my ears at the sound. I also closed my eyes. A nudge against my leg startled me again. I suddenly opened my eyes and stared into the blue of my counterpart. His blues met my browns. I could only stare at them at first. They were so incredibly blue. So intense. Almost as if I could see into his soul. I had to blink and only now understood that a wolf was standing in front of me. A black wolf. His fur was the same black as his hair. Very slowly my hands ran over the fur on his cheeks. I took his head in my hands and scratched behind his ears with my fingertips. He let out a noise that sounded a bit like purring. My fingers continued to wander through his soft fur. Mason turned so I didn't have to get up to touch his back. A small smile graced my mouth and Mason looked at me. I could see a twinkle in his eyes. His fur was shaggy and strong, but at the same time incredibly soft. I laid my head very slowly on his soft fur and snuggled up to him. Whatever the reason, it felt right. Mason took a step forward to get my head up. The butterflies had receded a little and I jumped for a moment. Mason gave me an apologetic look and then lay down on the couch. Then I started giggling again. "Wolves on the couch?" I asked and he rolled his eyes. Giggling, I fell back and laid my head on his stomach. Mason breathed calmly and evenly. I could easily feel his heartbeat through his thick fur. My right hand was on my body and my left, absently wandering through his beautiful fur. Somehow I wished to get a skin like that too. Black as the night. So many would overlook you if they weren't as proficient at smelling as I am. White wouldn't be bad either, it would be elegant and beautiful. However, it would be disadvantageous in the dark. My fur would probably be brown. At least all of my old pack have a brown coat, sometimes this can vary, but on average it was more of a chestnut brown.
