~Arian Storm~
I finally arrived at the pack house a little later that night.
I really needed to talk to Lou. Whether there is salvation for both of us, I don't know. I'm also aware that I'm right back to square one, but in the end she broke her promise too.
Still, I can't just let her go now. The feeling of having to protect her is now even stronger than it was at the beginning.
Finally I stood in front of her locked room door and knocked.
"Lou? Lou can I come in? Can we talk?"
I tried a few times, but there was no answer. There was no other emotion either, so I decided to just go in.
"I'm coming in now!" I warned in case she should be sitting in front of the door.
I entered the room and looked around. It was really nice here with all the fairy lights and roses. Hopefully the chocolate cheered her up because it's no longer on the bed.
'I FEEL NOTHING FOR THE FUCK FOR YOU!'
The words burned themselves into my head again. They hurt just as much as before. Why did I want to talk to her again? Perhaps hoping her words weren't meant to be taken seriously.
Oh man, I have no idea what I'm feeling anymore.
On the one hand I'm so disappointed and mad at her, but on the other hand I still have feelings. Feelings that urge me, even after this conversation, to seek their closeness.
"Lou?" I asked into the room, noticing that she wasn't there. Was she in the bathroom?
I quickly checked this room as well, but no sign of her. Then I suddenly remembered my order earlier.
FUCK!
That had been said out of blind rage and frustration. I would never have said that if I had been in my right mind. Send my little wolf out there alone? This could be her almost certain death. For other stray males she would be found food.
Fearing for my mate, I ran to her closet to check it out.
Whew, her stuff is all still here by the looks of it.
I took a red sleep shirt out of the closet and sniffed it. Even when it was washed, it smelled like my mate. She smelled of roses, but not so much that it was too much, just faintly.
The smell calmed me even more.
I'm sure she was just having dinner or something...
"Arian?"
Caught.
I jumped up, still holding the sleep shirt in my hand. My beta stood in the doorway looking confused but also kinda pissed off.
"What are you doing here?" he asked. You could clearly hear the restrained anger in his voice.
"I was looking for Lou. We had a really bad argument earlier and I said things I might not mean... Do you know where she is?"
"Oh man, Arian..." Somehow his gaze got colder.
„Was?"
"I got back maybe 5 minutes ago." What did he mean by that? Where was he? He didn't really...
"From where?" I frowned. He shouldn't always speak in riddles.
"I dropped her off at the pack boundary, as your orders earlier required."
NO!
My breath caught. Up to the limit of the pack, you ran at top speed for 2 to 3 hours, depending on which side of the pack house you were on. You had to drive even more slowly by car because the forest was uneven. But how do I get there so quickly?
My mate is out there alone. Unguarded and defenseless!
"I have to find her!" I gasped, breathless. Why am I always so stupid? Why do I make such mistakes when I was about to pour my heart out to her? I confessed my feelings to her, but I sent anyway she gone. I'm the hypocrite of both of us. Not her. She was just being honest. After all, she always admitted to herself that she needed time. So why couldn't I just give her that time?
"Where did you dump them?" My voice was powerful and angry. But there was also concern in it.
"Southern border."
I didn't need more because I was already transforming and stormed off like a madman. If I was fast before, now I was fucking Flash. So I made it to the southern border in record time, which I walked in the hope of picking up the scent here.
But nothing. There was no trace of her anywhere.
What if I can't find them? She didn't deserve this. I don't deserve her. Lou where are you? I could never forgive myself if something happened to you...
I walked the border for a while, but then I smelled it.
It wasn't the familiar scent of roses as usual, but the sickening stench of fresh blood.
My heart stopped and my breath caught.
