Zaira's POV:
My eyes widened as I realized how strong he was. He was the strongest wolf I have ever met. The strongest wolf that might have ever existed and I didn't even know if that was his full power.
Alpha Blake's hands trembled and the grip on my neck relaxed. Gasping for air, my vision cleared and the dizziness gradually subsided. I tried to muster enough strength to tug at his grip and free myself, but I was too weak. My hands just brushed his and didn't do anything.
A low growl shook the area as footsteps came closer and closer behind me.
Alpha Blake's face froze in shock before he regained control and all visible emotion vanished.
Although my whole body was still in pain, the butterflies in my stomach increased and my wolf raged with anticipation.
"Don't you dare come any closer or I'll kill you!" Alpha Blake growled, but his trembling hands around my neck, still lifting me off the ground, betrayed how scared he was.
The only thing I heard was a derisive snort before he lunged forward, digging his claws into Alpha Blake's arm. With the other paw gripped his neck, his claws digging a little bit into the skin, causing blood to trickle down his neck.
Completely surprised by his quick action, Alpha Blake released me and I slumped down. But to my amazement, I never touched the ground.
Two strong arms encircled my tortured body and gently laid me down behind him. I looked up at him but was denied a glimpse of his face, it was all happening so fast and my senses were still dulled with pain.
Nevertheless, I was able to admire his tall, muscular build. His hair was dark brown, almost black, and slightly curly, and his skin was an olive, suntanned tan.
Unable to take my eyes off him, I saw him loom up in front of the alpha and snarl at him.
"You can't take her away from me. She's mine! I found her first!" Alpha Blake's voice sounded angry, but if you listened closely, there was a trembling undertone.
The stranger clenched his fists as Alpha Blake fell to his knees gasping for air. Alpha Blake's fingers gripped his own neck and his eyes widened in shock.
"That- That can't be.." he said hoarsely while still trying to catch his breath. "You g-don't exist.."
"Oh yes?" Curly hair tilted his head.
"But that's im- impossible!" he slumped to the ground as the realization hit him.
"We will see." With that he raised his fist and with it Alpha Blake rose into the air. I froze. How was that possible?
"Let me go. You can have her, do whatever you want with her! Just let me live!" Alpha Blake's voice was filled with panic and he looked pleadingly at the tall werewolf.
"I should torture you, make you bleed to death!" his voice was far from any emotion, "But I don't have time for that."
"Please! Please, I'll do anything! PLEASE!" he begged for his life, begged him. I had never seen alpha Blake so scared, but I didn't feel sorry for him one bit. No, on the contrary, it gave me a certain satisfaction to see him suffer as well.
"Too late, Alpha. " At the same moment, Alpha Blake fell to the ground and lay motionless.
There was until.
Alpha Blake was finally dead.
No joy filled me and certainly no sadness. But a quiet calm returned to me, knowing that my worst nightmare is now gone.
With a small swipe of his right hand, all the bodies of the pack members fell lifeless. I winced and looked around anxiously. Nobody was still alive, nobody but me and curly hair.
I gasped in horror as a warm, hard torso gripped me and lifted me off the floor. I bit my lip to keep from moaning in pain and turned my gaze to the alien werewolf's chest.
My wolf rubbed her fur against the walls of my interior and whined, pleased to be near her mate. Everywhere his body touched me it tingled and made my breathing shallow.
"You may look at me." his voice was harsh and cold, yet his words gave me a warm, woolly feeling, for it was a rare privilege that he permitted me.
Normally only wolves were allowed to look the alpha in the eyes, which also belonged to his pack and were therefore also under his order. Otherwise, a higher-ranking predator would take the open eye contact as a challenge and respond aggressively, resulting in death in most cases. And that reaction was twice as pronounced in powerful werewolves like Alphas.
This, of course, did not apply to Mates.
Since it was my omega wolf's nature to submit before any higher-ranking wolves, I figured it would take a lot of strength to get the courage to face him squarely.
But it turned out that my wolf supported me. She also wanted to look at him as much as I did.
So I slowly raised my head and slowly let my gaze find his.
Immediately, his glowing green eyes drew me in and held me captive.
My Mate.
I could stare at his perfectly formed face for hours and not feel a moment of boredom.
I really found him.

Well, theoretically he found me.
I stifled a sigh as pure joy coursed through my body. I didn't know where he was taking me, but I didn't care.
I trusted him.
I closed my eyes and snuggled deeper into his strong arms, causing his grip on me to tighten, bringing me closer to him.
I suppressed the pain pulsing through my body and tried to concentrate fully on him. At the warmth his body gave off, at his steady heartbeat. I breathed in his scent deeply, it smelled of forest and wildness, yet it had a calming influence on me. I frowned in confusion, however, and inhaled his scent one more time. His own distinctive scent was not included, how could that be? Every werewolf, no, every creature had her, she was the little drop that identified you, so why didn't curly hair have one? But before I could pursue this train of thought any further, I dozed off into a deep sleep and for the first time in a long while I felt safe.
