The Sky Jellyfish emitted an intense, low roar; its transparent umbrella edges curled and billowed. The glass of skyscrapers shattered in response, and the tremendous booming made everyone in the convoy feel numb in their skin, instantly creating an overwhelming sense of oppression as if quelled by some colossal creature!
"Run, don’t slow down, watch out for the railway towers, don’t break formation, everyone else shoot at that beast!"
Xu Jin shouted, and the Gatling mounted on the truck also took aim at the sky.
Bullets rained down, and numerous armed personnel in the convoy also opened their windows and fired into the sky at the massive creature.
"It’s coming this way!"
At this moment, as the train and the convoy drove onto the elevated tracks, Sha Sha in Carriage 7 of the Infinity grabbed the walkie-talkie and yelled.
The horizon seemed to be obscured by a colossal shadow, as the gigantic Sky Jellyfish headed straight for the convoy, sweeping over with its myriad tentacles along the railway.
An off-road vehicle was unlucky enough to be swept up and crashed into the rail fence, thunderously falling onto the street below the elevated bridge—flipping over and smashing dozens of zombies it carried along!
A woman in the rear of the off-road vehicle managed to survive, opened the window crying and tried to escape, but in the next instant, a dense swarm of zombies overwhelmed the vehicle, and the hand raised in the air for help was quickly silenced amidst screams as it fell.
Shu Qin roared into the walkie-talkie, her eyes reddening. Clenching her teeth, she fiercely floored the gas pedal. "You bastards, focus!!"
Thump! Thump! Splash!
As the Sky Jellyfish passed overhead, countless bullets bombarded its body. Many of the jellyfish’s tentacles and tissues were shredded, immediately sending a rain of gray-white tissue fragments and fluids descending from the sky like rain.
Many vehicles suffered damage, and people who couldn’t dodge in time were splashed on their arms and bodies, immediately starting to fester and heat up. Agonizing screams came from within the convoy, causing the formation to nearly break apart.
At 18:45, just as everyone faced grave danger... darkness fell!
The convoy, already deep within the fog, was now engulfed in pitch blackness. All the vehicles turned on their lights to illuminate the path ahead.
"Lin Xian, there’s another one ahead!!"
KIKI’s voice at this point came through the walkie-talkie. Lin Xian, in the driver’s cabin, looked up only to see an even larger one slowly emerging from above a tall building!
"This will be the end of us if it goes on !"
Lin Xian’s face was grave, as if facing a formidable enemy: "KIKI, call that flame-throwing guy over!"
KIKI, having heard Lin Xian’s words, immediately rushed to the driver’s cabin, while Lu Xingchen was still cowering in a corner, eyes devoid of spirit, muttering with desolation, "My car... my car..."
"What are you still squatting here for? Big trouble’s upon us, come help!"
Lu Xingchen looked up at her, "Do you know how important that car was to me? It was my companion, my destination, my support along the way..."
KIKI’s face immediately turned sour upon hearing this, struggling to suppress the urge to curse, she angrily said to him,
"Stop wasting words! Come with me to take down that jellyfish, and afterwards, we’ll have Lin Xian set up a private carriage for you, all done up as your boudoir! Happy now?"
Little did she know, hearing this Lu Xingchen suddenly stood up, chest out, his face full of calm determination,
"We must not delay, let’s go now."
His demeanor at this point drastically contrasted with the woeful figure from before, even KIKI was taken aback.
"Come on, it’s time to show that fiend the might of my Fire God’s... hey hey hey!"
KIKI rolled her eyes, unable to endure his self-performance, didn’t let him finish; she snapped her fingers and with Telekinesis plucked him by the ear towards the driver’s cabin.
"Lin Xian, I’ve brought him here."
KIKI entered the driver’s cabin with urgency, dragging Lu Xingchen with her. Lin Xian turned to glance at Lu Xingchen, then asked, "Still able to move?"
Lu Xingchen was a bit frustrated, about to say something, but as he looked up past Lin Xian, he saw the enormous Sky Jellyfish in the distant sky, his expression turning serious. He nodded to Lin Xian, "I can."
Lin Xian immediately said, "Kid, smash all the gasoline we stored in the rear carriage over to me. The one surnamed Lu, you two cooperate, I want to burn the squid!"
"That’s a jellyfish!"
KIKI immediately understood Lin Xian’s intention. Without waiting for Lu Xingchen’s complaint, she turned around and rushed towards the rear cabin.
Lin Xian opened the cockpit door and clanged together a makeshift steel staircase, allowing Lu Xingchen to climb directly from the carriage onto the roof.
Lu Xingchen looked at Lin Xian’s skilled operations and bizarre abilities with a surprised expression. His face changed slightly, but then he stopped wasting words and, rolling up his sleeves, stepped onto the staircase and climbed onto the roof.
Meanwhile, Lin Xian had thought KIKI would use Telekinesis to bring over the dozen barrels of gasoline. To his surprise, when he looked over, he saw those barrels floating in mid-air, with KIKI excitedly standing on top of them, occasionally hovering in the air.
This kid, she really could fly.
The Telekinesis Ability had such immense potential for expansion; Lin Xian had speculated before that it could be used for flying. After all, if she could lift a train weighing hundreds of tons, how could her own weight of just a few dozen pounds not be movable? It was just a matter of proficiency.
On the high-speed Infinity, Lu Xingchen was standing on the roof, and KIKI, fluttering from the side of the vehicle, landed somewhat nervously on the roof.
Her first flight was inevitably thrilling, but with the looming threat in the sky, there was no time for joy. She quickly waved her arms, lifting the dozens of gasoline barrels into the air.
"When I throw them up, you ignite them with fire. The bigger the blaze, the better!" KIKI said in a soft and clear voice.
"You don’t need to remind me; burning is an art form!" Lu Xingchen said with a stern look, flipping his fingers in a warm-up gesture.
Inside the cockpit, Lin Xian grabbed the intercom and said, "Lao Mo, I’m going to ignite that jellyfish. After I do, hit it with a few missiles. Everyone else, don’t fire your guns, close your windows, and watch out for falling embers!"
Hearing Lin Xian’s crazy plan, Shu Qin and Xu Jin were shocked and quickly responded.
"Understood, understood!"
"Everyone, be on guard!"
On the other end, Lao Mo’s voice was excited, "Good lad, burning the squid, that’s some plan."
He then clicked several buttons on the console.
"Alright, since that’s the case, let’s fire all our stock. We’ll either live or die!"
The train drew nearer.
The giant jellyfish in the sky emitted a loud, muffled roar, as if it had spotted its prey. Its transparent edges curled and it drifted quickly toward the side of the train!
Lin Xian shouted to the rooftop!
Hearing Lin Xian’s command, KIKI focused her mind and held her breath. The light of her superpower flickered wildly in her eyes. She grasped at the air with both hands, fiercely pulling the barrels of oil together before hurling them with all her might toward the Sky Jellyfish.
The cluster of barrels, carrying immense kinetic energy, howled through the air.
On the other side, Lu Xingchen stood on the front of the roof, stomped hard with his feet, clenched his teeth, and his hands spewed a massive amount of flames, gradually forming a huge fireball in front of him.
In an instant, flame waves surged, and the light of the fire illuminated the whole street!
"God Flame Emperor!!"
His pupils trembled as if he put all his energy into it, and he fiercely pushed the fireball toward the sky.
The huge fireball rose along its path, illuminating the exterior windows of high-rise buildings, and then, it collided with the cluster of barrels thrown into the center of the jellyfish!
In that moment, a scorching massive fireball exploded, and the fire lit up the sky. The exploding gasoline further intensified the flames, spraying outwards.
A huge fireball blazed in the sky, as if the flames wanted to burn through the heavens, instantly swallowing half of the vast jellyfish’s body.
Big Fire scorched the heavens!
The shock wave from the explosion carried over, and the charging convoy below felt a jolt in their vehicles, a heat wave blasting in their faces.
