Chapter 40
Blaine Lombardi's POV
"Lucia requires assistance alpha Blaine."
I nearly tripped when I got a message from Anthony via the mind link.
"How come?"
We arrived at the deserted training facility when Lucia's body temperature started rising.
He was by her side.
Anthony, get the fuck off of Lucia.
I'm making an effort.
I'll skin you alive the moment you touch her.
Yes, I am aware. Move quickly.
Instead of answering, I transform into a wolf and sprint in the direction of the building. With each step, the icy dirt rubs up on my paws. Even at this distance, I can already smell Lucia's heat from the facility. Like the sailors who were feasted upon by the lovely creatures, it beckons to me like a siren, and I can't help but give in.
I can now make out the dilapidated building as I got closer. It's getting very urgent, so I transform back into my wolf form and think of going nude. But I believe I'm going to need all the layers I can get if I want to have even a remote chance of avoiding my mate. I hastily put on my jeans and headed over to the shack.
It appears as though Anthony is about to turn feral. He's got his hands clenched around a bar that was probably meant for pull-ups. He clings to it with all of his strength. He bolts into the woods as soon as he spots me, the dirt creating a cloud in his wake.
"Nice guy."
"I murmur Lucia. In an instant, I find myself facing her. Though it may appear unsightly, the coating of sweat covering her body has the opposite effect. Her lovely scent comes from the sweat that clings to her body. My wolf is trying to go loose and take charge, but if there's one thing I've learned in the last three years, it's to exercise restraint.
Even though Lucia's hair is all over her head on the filthy floor, all I can think of is snatching it up and shoving myself right into her. I lift her so she's kneeling and sinking onto my haunches. I reach around her back and put my body against hers because she can hardly bear her weight. I then stood up and encircled her legs around my waist. A sigh escapes her.
"More," she weeps.
Goddess, grant me courage.
I carried her in my arms while I made my way home. Since it's a little remote, I don't think anyone will be there at this hour.
"Just give me a moment, little wolf; everything will be fine," I reply.
She said, "It hurts," pointing to her neck.
"I apologize," I said sincerely. I try to calm her by giving her a gentle hand rub on her back.
Her hips started to spin. Even though it's a tiny movement, it still affected me. I grounded myself by biting my bottom lip. Lucia makes a satisfied noise, and I begin to doubt my ability to reach my home.
Now, her limply arms that had been supporting my back are tracing up to my neck. She lifts her body with a tight hold, bringing her sex up to my belly button and brushing against my pelvic bone. She keeps herself there, her face emerging from the nape of my neck to stare right at me. My eyes implore her to refrain from what I believe she is going to do.
She didn't listen, as usual. This time, as she grinds down on my stiff cock, I'm not even able to control my reaction.

"Blaine, it feels too good," Lucia remarks.
"I know, baby."
I raise my hands, grab her ass, and gently move her hips as they sway back and forth. She even traces my mark with her tongue at one point, and I return the favor. Her smell grows stronger and stronger, and I can't even remember why I shouldn't be doing this since I'm so engrossed in what we're doing.
There should be an exhibit of Lucia's face in every museum, but is it at this time? Goddess, she's so damn attractive that I can't help but fasten my movements. She's too far removed from this world of reality, immersed in her pleasure.
With her face a mess of blood, she's lying in my arms. Her eyes are vacant, and her outfit is covered with blood.
I almost dropped Lucia because of the image, but instead, I awkwardly lowered her to the ground and put some distance between us. I try to collect my thoughts as I run a hand through my hair.
"Why'd you stop?"
I turn to face the woman, who seems to be on my mind constantly. As I look at her, my heart thumps in my chest. What should I say, exactly? I'm not comfortable speaking the truth aloud at all.
"I can't do this."
Even as I speak, my mind is doing the exact opposite thing.
Without you, I will perish.

I nearly think Lucia will stomp her foot on the ground and insist that I take her since she seems so irritated.
"What is wrong with you, for heaven's sake? You act in this way all the time; I mean, I'm putting myself in front of you, yet you still refuse to acknowledge me. Do you know what this does to my self-esteem?"
As I process what she said, my breath catches. She is not the issue; in fact, she has never been the issue. I've always been the issue.
"It's not you, Lucia."
Oh, don't give me such nonsense. This isn't your typical corny romantic film."
"Lucia-"
"What do you know?"
" No. I'm not going to feel this way. It's not worth the suffering, so if you won't do it, I'll find someone who will."
As she turns to go, the furious way she moves makes her dark hair sound like a whip.
I brought her to me by grabbing her wrist. I shift my hands to her hips to hold her in place as her ass grinds up against mine.
"What did you just say?"
"I promised to look for someone else. Anthony wants to, as we both know."
She groans as I tighten my grasp on her.
"You're going to regret that little wolf," I said in a hushed tone.
I made an effort. I tried pretty hard. Certain things, I suppose are unavoidable.
