Chapter 30
Lucia Lorenzo's POV
We are raised with the belief that there are two kinds of people in the world. Those who are good and those who are evil. What is good, though, and what's not good?
Is a guy good or evil if he murders a lot of people to win his one true love? Was he a self-destructive man, or was he a horrible man who had lost his meaning in life?
Ronaldo was a villain, but I'll never know if he was nice or terrible. Which, given that I can't tell if he's nice or terrible, I'm sure is perplexing, but I'll do my best to clarify.
Because a hero considers the greater good, they will sacrifice their love to save the world. When it came to spending more time with his partner, Ronaldo Matteo was the type of man who would burn down the entire planet. Considering that I think the individual had good intentions, this doesn't necessarily make him a horrible person.
Who knows? Maybe too much research is being done on this.
"Hey, Lucia! Are you even focusing on this?"
I was startled by my mother's high-pitched voice, and as I looked up, I saw her glaring at me.
"Lucia, this is a huge occasion! This is not only the Lunar Glow event—this is your first event as a Luna!"
I try to look interested, sighing. Please understand that I adore the Lunar Glow. When we were younger, Valerie and I always kept track of what the alpha families were wearing and the event's outcome.
The Matteo/De Lombardi family and the Dickson family are very similar. They hold this event as an homage to their forefathers, who were among the original Lycans. Normally, I'm more thrilled about this spectacular event, which requires millions of dollars to meticulously organize.
But now, Blaine is the only thing on my mind. He's been pushed to accept a Luna that he doesn't want and into this predicament. Someone who feels compelled to be with me is not someone I want to be with. How come I can't have someone who desires me?
"Am I interrupting?"
Greg entered the space with his arms folded behind him. He smiles awkwardly at me and then turns back to look at my mother.
"Well, obviously not! I'll take this out of your hair; we were just looking at some outfits for the event," she replies. Greg got a little closer to me the moment my mom left the room.
"Are you okay?"
"Greg, I'm doing just fine. What are your desires?"
He inhales deeply before moving on.
"Ok, I know Blaine is my cousin, but I have to tell you this."
"What is it?"
"Blaine and Mirabel appeared to be a touch too close when I saw them together. I suppose I ought to be shocked, but I'm not. They have been together for an eternity, and now I am destroying their bond. Even if my heart is tense while Greg speaks, my head is aware of this. Will this be my entire life? My partner is always chasing another lady while I'm in the corner.
"I don't want to do this Greg," with tears welling up in my eyes. I detest the way it makes me feel when he stares at me pitifully. I'm Lucia Lorenzo, and I don't need sympathy. I'm a strong warrior, a renowned runner, and a potential healer. With a sigh, I resolve to at last speak my mind.
You know, it's simply awful. I have been in love with my partner my entire life. I've imagined that upon meeting, we would get enamored. All he would do was gaze upon me and love me solely. Everything would be perfect in the world if I were his and he was mine.
I hesitate, noticing that Greg now seems much more pitiful.
"But here I am. Just when I thought I was free of the tie when my partner sent me abroad, the goddess threw this reincarnation nonsense on us! Is it too much to ask for love, Greg? All I want is love. All I want is to find someone who makes my heart race, and I will reciprocate. I want to be old with them and raise a family, but there's no turning back now."
I'm relieved to finally share the ideas I've been holding inside.
"You'll find it one day, Lucia; I know it." He gives me a cheek kiss and a smile.
"You should rest."
I reclined with a nod. As he walks out, I hear the door click. I burrow my head into my pillow, ignoring the fact that I preferred sleeping in Blaine's room due to its signature scent.
How wonderful would it be if I were to find eternal love? That's when I nodded off to sleep.
I jolted out of my sleep with a low growl. I barely stay awake as Blaine quickly pricks me to the bed.
"What the fuck, Blaine!"
He threatens me by baring his teeth. Normally, my wolf would have cowered, but now that I'm Luna, I'm on par with him, and he can't control me.
"Get off of me, you psycho!" He pushes me back down with his wolf speed after I push him away. My arms are pinned above me this time. He sniffs me and has both my wrists locked in his right hand.
His nose tip slowly runs up and down my neck. He's cautious not to put too much pressure on me because I'm still bruised from yesterday.
"Blaine..." I whimper and uncontrollably shift my hips upward. I'm powerless to stop myself. His aroma fills the air, and his body is so close to mine that I can't help but be tempted.
He looks at me angrily and instantly pushes my hips down.
"Hurt my pride?"
"Why was Greg in your bedroom?"
"Um, what?"
Once more, he growls.
"I can smell him on you; why was he this close?"
He tightens his grip on me as I hesitate to respond.
"Nothing; he was just checking in on me."
His eyes betray a lack of trust in me, but when he lowers his face back to my neck, I'm taken aback.
He seems to be punishing me as he slowly runs his tongue down my throat.
"Blaine.."
He sucks in as his lips curl around the skin next to my mark. His hips start to beat in time with my hips as they rise once more. He's determined to hold onto my hands even if I try to release them to touch him.
"Tell me the truth, Lucia."
My hips move more quickly, and the friction gets even worse. He moves his mouth toward my ear, catching the lobe in between his teeth.
"Tell me, Lucia!"
I ignored him and concentrated on the situation. He abruptly comes to a stop.
" Why did you quit, damn it?"
"Tell me," he whispers, swiveling his hips to tease me.
"Nothing." He takes down my tank top, his lips curling around my breast, and I gasp. He flicks his tongue quickly, then lets up once more. The same pattern applies to his hips, and I'm so irritated I could cry.
"Alright, he gave me a polite peck on the cheek," I exclaimed.
He lets forth a loud snarl. He looks at my mark, his eyes getting darker.
"These fuckers don't get the memo."
"What?"
Blaine smacks me across the neck, leaving a trail of hickeys in his wake. He finally stops tormenting me, and his hips begin to move again. Through my skimpy shorts, I can sense that he shares my desire for this. My movements pick up speed in tandem with his.
I caught him muttering to himself. He looks at me with furrowed brows. Our gazes meet in front of his dazzling gold. He lowers his fangs and presses them into my mark.
This time is much more enjoyable than the previous one. I felt my release travel through my body, jutting forward my hips. Blaine remains motionless for a few moments as my leg tenses up.
Although I've slept with a few males here, nothing has ever felt quite like this. Even though the majority of our clothes were still on, he forced me to approach closer than I had ever come.
When I turn to lay my head back on my pillow, Blaine covers me with the blanket. I hear him go before the darkness takes hold of me.
