Affinity: Chaos Chapter 1913

Chapter 1913: A Marvel At the moment, Grey knew there was nothing he could do until a Gnome was found. He decided to take a stroll around Red City. When he left his room, he noticed Luthera was nowhere to be seen. After asking around he found out that she went with Klaus and Void and did not find it odd. Thinking of the fact that they just got married before coming here, he could not help but feel bad that the newly married couple did not have time to themselves. ‘Once this war is over, I should think about finding a partner too.’ He thought to himself. Alice and Reynolds both had partners, although they were not yet married like Klaus. As he took a stroll around the City, he soon got to the place where he came for the test to see if he had any elemental affinities. He recalled how despondent he was when leaving the first time he was told he did not have any element, the stares, the murmurs. As a twelve year old who had dreamt of becoming a top expert, he felt like his entire world shattered that day, even till now that he tried to live past it, he realized he still has not been able to heal from that trauma. Did he blame his parents? A little, but at that age, he was almost certain if they told him not to go, he would not have listened. The few friends he had became distant, avoiding him like a plague. As he strolled a saw a few of them already had families. He hid himself in the void, away from the eyes of the public, so even while he was standing in the streets, it was impossible for these people who were barely at the Peak of the Origin Plane would notice him. It has been a long time ago, yet it still felt like it was yesterday. The loneliness he felt during that period shaped the person he became today, a cold and distant figure. If his Teacher did not take him to Lunar City to pick Klaus up on the way to the Academy, and if Klaus had been proud and did not speak to him, he was not sure he would have been friends with him. His Teacher is a very important figure in his life as he was the one who introduced him to Klaus, his crazy best friend. Red City was not big, yet it took Grey hours to stroll through it. He left the City and headed for the mountain he used to train in during the next three years of his life after failing to awaken an element. On the way, he saw the place where he had a clash with some of the youths from the City then. He got to the top of the mountain and sat down cross-legged, taking in a deep breath. As soon as he sat down, he felt his state of mind seemingly going blank as his years of experience started to flow through his eyes. A second felt like a lifetime as all the memories came crashing into him, he did not show any discomfort or distaste, this was a part of his life, a part of his life that he did not want to remember. Since he left Red City, he had always tried to act or pretend like those three years did not exist. If they never returned here, maybe he might have been able to live on with the delusion that those three years of his life were only a dream. A day went by without him moving, he stayed rooted in the same position, both eyes closed as he felt a strange sensation wash all over him. Lucas was having a discussion with his wife when he suddenly paused, raising a brow he looked in the direction of the mountain Grey was seated on. “Huh?” A surprised expression appeared on his face. Martha noticed the change and asked curiously, “What’s wrong?” “It seems someone is touching the threshold of the God Plane.” Saying so, he stood up, holding his wife’s hand, “Come, let’s go take a peek. It will be beneficial for your breakthrough attempt.” The duo disappeared from the room they were in. Lucas was not the only one who sensed this strange aura, the other top experts noticed it. As time went on, even those in the Sage and even Origin Plane could sense this strange aura. The aura was soothing, giving everyone a clear sense, and some people who had been stuck in a bottleneck in their cultivation sensed it loosening, as soon as they sensed this, they hurriedly sat down and started cultivating. Red City was not how it used to be, and with the increased essence, they noticed breaking through each cultivation stage was easier than before. They could not understand why the essence suddenly increased, and to be honest, they did not care. Knowing they can grow stronger, easier and faster made them all elated at the time. Grey did not know he had caused a strange phenomenon, he stayed in the same state of mind, reflecting on his years of life, gaining from it with each simulation. The process was a continuous process, going over and over again. The morning dew cascaded his body, making him give off a unique glow, a small halo spread off around his body, giving him an otherworldly look. Lucas and Martha were the first to arrive, as soon as Lucas laid his eyes on Grey, he felt the side of his mouth twitch slightly before letting out a wry chuckle. Grey only recently broke through to the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane, this was something he knew from Grey’s aura, not just that, Grey also told him this. “Martha, our son is so special.” He commented softly to his wife. Martha nodded, saying matter-of-factly, “Of course! He’s our son, if he was shabby I would have died from embarrassment.” Lucas chuckled when he heard this before lightly giving her a kiss on her forehead, “Stay close by, try not to make any sound. I’ll ensure you two are not disturbed.” After saying this, Lucas’s figure disappear, appearing in the sky, he looked around, staring at the void he said softly, yet his voice spread out reaching its aimed target, “My son is in an important part of his cultivation and should not be disturbed.” He stayed silent in the sky, staring at the void, even though no figure could be seen. A voice arrived in Lucas’s ear a second later, “Congratulations on birthing such a marvel.” Lucas knew the owner of the voice, it was none other than the Old man who the Bunny Leader was familiar with. Lucas bowed in the direction as if thanking the Old man. Of all the people present in Red City, this Old man was the only one he felt a little apprehensive towards. When he overheard the conversation between him and the Bunny Leader, he felt a little worried and even asked Grey about the identity of the Bunny Leader after they returned from their mission. Grey told him of how he caught the Bunny Leader and realized the Bunny Leader might be right, Grey indeed did kidnap it. Everyone can see the Bunny Leader was not restrained in any way by Grey, however, the Bunny Leader did not lie, Grey did in fact kidnap him and even threatened to cook him on a few occasions. Lucas was amazed by his son’s ability to have such powerful people and Magical Beasts around him. Void is the most mysterious Magical Beast he has ever laid eyes on, and he had even tried on a few occasions to see if he could figure out what species of Cat he was, all his investigations had been futile. No one has ever seen or heard of a Cat like Void, they are even more shocked to hear that he came out of an egg. If Grey had not repeatedly told him with certainty that Void hatched out of an egg, he would have never believed it. His son had a strange Bunny that seems to have the ability to compel other Bunnies to be his underlings while being completely unable to fight, while there was the mysterious Cat that came out of an egg. There are also his friends, according to Martha, Klaus is the most outstanding ice user she had ever seen. This was someone who came from one of the top Ice Elemental users Family, yet she was stumped by Klaus’s use of the ice element. Even the Space Elementalist who went with them mentioned Klaus’s prowess with ice. Then there was Reynolds, a high grade Summoner who had suddenly been able to merge with his Elemental Warrior. Alice also had a Seelie. The more he thought about them, the more shocked he was.
