Affinity: Chaos Chapter 1905

Chapter 1905: Red City The trip to Red City went without any mishaps, getting there in only a few days. On the way, Grey made sure to create teleportation arrays. One of the reasons traveling in the Azure Continent was slow was due to the lack of teleportation arrays, an issue Grey did not want to encounter if they were leaving. He even made one in the forest where they arrived, knowing it would make their return journey easier. When they got to Red City, they noticed the presence of multiple experts. While the others were interested in the experts present, Grey felt nostalgic as he stood at the gates to the City. Red City was not that big, being only about a kilometer square radius, compared to the size of major Cities like Lunar City and other Cities. Grey stood staring at the City gate for some time, recalling his experience when he was younger. His memories of Red City made him not enjoy coming here even though it was the place he was born. Klaus seemed to notice Grey’s mood and walked over to him, nudging him by the shoulder, “Will you go in or just stare at the gates forever?” Grey chuckled before taking a step into the City. He could sense where his parents were staying in the City, and from his memories, it was exactly the same house they lived in when they stayed in Red City. As he walked through the streets, he recalled how he was shunned by his peers after he failed to awaken his element at the age of twelve. It has been well over ten years since then, yet the memories were still fresh in his head. Shaking his head, he threw the thought to the side, focusing on what was important, and that was going to meet his parents and to see if he could help fight against the Gnomes. On the way to their house, he noticed Eisendrache flying in the sky, a figure seated on his back. If his guess was accurate, then that was definitely Cory. At the same time he raised his head to look at Eisendrache, Eisendrache roared and dived down in his direction. Luthera was taken aback when she saw a Dragon diving their way and she instinctively moved closer to Klaus. Klaus grabbed her hand and comforted, “Don’t worry, he won’t harm you.” Luthera felt a bit relieved hearing Klaus’s words. Dragons were creatures she had always seen as majestic and fearsome beasts. She had gotten the chance to see a Dragon once when delivering an item to a Faction, but it was a long time ago and it was from a distance, so she did not get the chance to get close or witness the majesty of these amazing Beasts. Before Eisendrache got close, they could hear the cheerful voice of Cory calling onto Grey from on top Eisendrache. She jumped from where she was seated, diving into Grey’s arms. Grey hugged her, patting her head softly. Eisendrache landed beside them, bringing his large head over. Grey had no other choice than to also pat his head. “How have you been?” He asked as they continued their journey. Cory immediately started telling him of their journey to this Continent and how his mother was ambushed as soon as she got to the Azure Continent. Luckily she was able to force the assailants back and even kill one of them in the process. The others were able to escape. Grey snorted coldly when he heard this, heaving a sigh of relief after that nothing happened to them. He had the option of coming here with his mother and Cory, and chose to come with his friends. If anything had happened to his mother and Cory, he would have not been able to forgive himself. By the time Cory was done with her stories, they had arrived at the front of the house. Eisendrache’s roar alerted everyone when he was diving to meet Grey, so his parents and a few other people he was not familiar with were waiting for them in the yard. He was about to take a step inside the yard when he paused and looked at the figures standing behind his father. ‘It’s them.’ His gaze locked onto the duo, easily recognizing them as the duo who blocked their path in the forest. The young man and the lady who was a Space Elementalist. Lucas noticed Grey’s gaze and chuckled, “What took you so long?” “We had to make some stops.” Grey did not go into detail, only telling him of the few teleportation arrays he made on the way. Lucas was aware of Grey’s abilities as an Arraymaster, so he did not find it out of place that he could create teleportation arrays. The lady who was a Space Elementalist on the other hand was shocked at the information. Creating a teleportation array is not simple work and from what she knew, it took a few days to make one that covered a few hundreds of kilometers. This made her even more impressed by Grey. Klaus and the others hurriedly stepped forward and bowed to the group, introducing themselves. Grey followed suit, after all, he was also not familiar with these people. Even the young man called Lewis and the Space Elementalist by his side were strangers to him. Lucas introduced everyone present, and Grey’s eyes stayed on the figure of an old man who seemed ordinary. Void and the Bunny Leader appeared during the introduction, and the Bunny Leader seemed frightened by the old man Grey was staring at, he was even shaking in fear. The Old man smiled gently at Grey, before giving the Bunny Leader a strange look. “So you ended up with him?” He asked casually. The Bunny Leader rushed to his side, trying to be as amiable as he possibly could, “He kidnapped me.” Grey’s expression turned dark when he heard this, and he shot a glare at the Bunny Leader. The Old man snickered and said, “Even this Old man could not stop you from leaving, do you think I’d believe you?” “I swear! You can ask him if you don’t believe me.” The Bunny Leader said righteously. “I’m not interested in what you’ve been doing. Did you keep it safe?” The Old man did not really seem to show any hostility towards Grey, only focusing his attention on the Bunny Leader. “Yes, it’s safe.” The Bunny Leader nodded his head hurriedly. While the Bunny Leader and the Old man were having these discussions, Lucas did not concern himself with it and focused on the newly arrived youths. He knew Grey’s friends, and knowing that they all came from this Continent yet were able to improve faster than even those geniuses born in the Aurora Continent made him understand just how talented they were. One has to know that Grey had the orb in his body that made him an oddity, yet his friends were not too far behind him, which was amazing as he thought about it. They entered the house, each taking a seat in the living room. Grey looked around, noticing there was someone missing, “Father, is my Teacher not here?” “Chris? He went out to get something some days ago when he heard you were coming. He should return in a few days.” Lucas replied, calming Grey. Before Grey or anyone else could say anything, Lucas stood up and cleared his throat, “My son’s presence means we can finally go on the offensive.” “Is it true you can sense the presence of Gnomes and Necromancers?” The Old man who had a close relationship with the Bunny Leader asked curiously, making everyone turn their attention to Grey. Grey did not expect his father to inform these people of his ability to sense Gnomes and Necromancers. He took a glance at his father, and saw him give him a nod. Knowing his father would not disclose this information unless he had absolute trust in these people, he nodded. “If they are within a certain distance around me, then yes. But I must say this, I can not sense the presence of those top experts. Those above the Ninth stage are a little harder to sense.” Grey did not hide the truth, telling them the limit of the ability. He did not want a scenario whereby after getting to a camp or settlement they would meet Peak Sovereigns or even Half-God experts and he would then be blamed for giving them wrong intel. “If true, then our work has become easier.” A man with a large build said. “Those things are too cunning and are always able to hide from us. If we have him, then they will no longer be able to escape us.” Another man added. From their expressions, it was easy to tell that they have been frustrated by the Gnomes over the course of the war. Not being able to track their enemies was terrible.
