CHAPTER 11
Christian was shocked by the silence he heard on the side of the line, he said again thinking she hadn't him.
"Sara love, did you hear me?" he asked.
"Ummmm, yes, yes I did, I didn't think the date would be so soon, you know, I was just......... ermmmm, never mind." she answered.
"What is it, tell me, I don't like all this talks that never gets finished, talk to me, you accepted to go on a date with me, and it's up to me to get a suitable place for us to go on a nice date, right? Which i have done, or don't you want to go out with me any longer?" he asked sounding frantic.
"Christian what do you want from me?" she asked and he was stunned, she had answered his question with a question, this had not been what he had expected her to say in the least, he had thought she would be delighted, and they would have proceeded to know a little bit of themselves this night before the date, but it seemed his plans were all in vain, trying to calm down a temper he didn't know was brewing inside him again, he answered-
"Isn't it obvious, Sara I like you, i like you so fucking much it hurts sometimes, it hurts when I call repeatedly and you don't pick up, when I think if something bad has happened to you, I want to see you smile the way you did when you came to the store the other day, freely and without qualms, I want to know what you eat in the morning and what you have for dinner before going to bed. Most importantly i want to meet your parents and ask them for permission to be your boyfriend, I can already see our future together, you by my side, as my queen, if this is what love feels like, then let's be safe to say, Sara i fell in love with you the day i saw your pretty caramel face, by the roadside looking lost and shocked, with your pert lips all churned up, Sara I........." he stopped, he was short of words, he didn't know what to say any longer, words were not enough to describe what he felt for her.
"Oh Christian......."she replied tearfully.
God he had brought her to tears, that was never his intention, he wished he was there to cuddle and console her, he wanted to soothe her by saying something when she spoke up, "Christian, I don't even know what to say to you now, oh God." she replied, she was sobbing, sobbing really quietly like someone in so much pain.
She couldn't believe what she was hearing that moment, she blinked twice and even pinched her arm to check if she was freaking dreaming but it wasn't, he wanted to meet her parents, he was already in love with her, he could imagine their future together, her by his side as his queen, she became emotional and didn't even know when she started sobbing quietly, she had such fragile hormones, she thought sniffling.
She started to speak but suddenly stopped when she heard voices by the corridor, oh she had put herself in trouble now, it seemed that she had been caught sneaking out, she decided to end the call when she heard a voice, "What are you doing out here, Sara?" It was Dinah and her gang.
Putting the phones to her ears and quickly wiping her tears away, she whispered slowly. "Christian, I'll call you back or send you a text tommorow, something has come up?"
"Have i put you in trouble?" he asked suddenly worried.
"No, not at all." she replied trying to sound calm.
"Don't lie to me, Sara, and don't hang up on me." he persisted.
"Look, Christian you can just text me the venue of the date and the day, I'll explain everything to you when we meet, Lord knows I have so much to tell you, but right now I'm sorry I have to go off." She quickly cut the cell off and prayed he would not be angry at her given the fact that he had revealed something so important and shocking this early morning, and she had abruptly ended the conversation.
"Hmmmmmn, miss we recorded everything, I saw you the moment you tiptoed from your room to the balcony, I woke my friends and we decided to have some fun with you, damn I would love to see your reaction when I play this record for the head matron to hear, oh what a delight." Dinah giggled wickedly.
"I told you, she definitely was seeing someone, but you guys thought I was lying, now here you have it." Tessa said and the mean trio chuckled at Sara evilly.
Sara was scared, she was sweating profusely, what was she going to do now, there was nothing she could do to pacify them, she couldn't even beg them, the only option here was to bargain something with them, which she did not have.
"Please, what do you want from me? I'll give you anything you need just don't show the head matron this record, i will be in so much trouble." She decided to beg them, she was out of options, she did not know what to say. Her friend Ariel, that could have helped her was fast asleep, making nuo her mind she decided to stand up for herself,she was tired, feeling sleepy and had a long day ahead of her, she looked up at them in defiance and said-
"I don't even know why I am begging you guys because it's all in vain, and I also don't care about what you guys are going to do with the record, whether you show the matron, it you keep it to yourself, or use it to blackmail and mock me, I don't care, I won't plead again, you are not my God or something I should give that amount of respect and fear too. Please, excuse me, I want to go to bed, I have many things to do tomorrow, which I know the idle lot of you don't have, so good night or good morning rather."
She left albeit hurriedly leaving them dumbfounded, she was still scared of what they were going to do with the record, but she put on a brave face, left the corridor and went straight to bed.
Today, she was going to tell Ariel everything, and also make an effort to call Christian, she felt really bad the way their conversation had ended.
