I was looking at her but Rudrani didn't even look at me. I understood that she was upset. Rudrani is my wife and I trust her completely. A police raid can't break my trust on my wife. The only thing that worried me was her weird behaviour. I guess it's not her anger but she showed her pain in the form of anger.
I went near to her and she stepped back. Was she scared of me? She started crying.
"I am sorry, please don't hurt me," Rudrani said in a pale voice.
"It's okay, my love. I understood that something made you upset and you behaved weird. Relax," I said and hugged her.
"I am sorry," Rudrani whispered again between her sobs.
"No problem, I love you," I said.
"Ashu, will you please leave me alone for sometime," Rudrani said.
"Do you really mean it?" I asked.
Rudrani didn't reply.
"I know you need time but do you want to handle it alone?" I asked.
Rudrani looked at me.
"Okay, I got it. You need me by your side. I will stay here but I won't ask you anything. You tell me the reason only if you want to," I said slowly.
Rudrani nodded and hugged me tightly. I sat on the bed taking her into my arms. Rudrani was crying and I didn't understand how to control her.
"Doctor said I can never accept your touch and fulfill my duty as a wife," Rudrani said crying.
My guess was right. I already made up my mind to control my emotions. I shouldn't become emotional now. I should be her strength now.
"So what baby? Is it something important for which you need to worry?"
My question shocked her.
"Ashu, how can you take it easily. I can't give you any happiness and..... "
I kept my finger on her soft lips to calm her.
"Having you beside me gives me happiness, nothing else can replace that happiness," I said hugging her tightly.
"Sweetheart, for now leave it. When you completes your study, we will try together to bring you out of that trauma. I promise you that I will be with you and will make you accept me and my love," I said kissing her cheek.
"But doctor said.... "
"My dear wife, didn't you hear the cases where people cured deadly diseases like cancer, tumour etc with their willpower and courage though doctors said they won't live? I will heal your heart with my love. Love has the power to cure anything and anyone. We have one more year to think about that. Till then you must focus only on your career. If you are worried thinking that my love for you may change if you didn't accept me in future, it's completely wrong. Don't keep such doubts in your heart and be happy," I said smiling.
"I am sorry for talking rude to you."
"You need a small punishment to remember who I am and to make you stop asking me who am I all the time," I said in a warning tone but with a smile on my face.
She looked at me pouting.
"You are cute," I said and she blushed.
"I will apologise Artika for raising hand at her," Rudrani said.
"No Rudrani, I will talk to her. I don't think she will understand if you apologise. Artika will be ready to hurt you anytime. So, I didn't want you to face her directly. I will apologise her. You take rest."
"But Ashu, why should you apologise for my mistake?"
"Because you are my wife and we are one," I said and she looked at me lovingly.
Is she falling for me? These days I can sense love in her eyes. Am I expecting more from her or is she really loving me? Whatever I will wait till she reveal her feelings.
I got up from bed to apologise Artika.
"Ashu, that hotel thing, I really didn't do anything wrong, trust me please," Rudrani tried to explain me.
"I already told you baby, you no need to give explanation to me. I love you and it includes I trust you. The only thing which hurt me was why didn't you call me when you are in the problem? Didn't you remember your husband when they arrested you? Why did stay whole night in the police station?" I asked her seriously.
"Ashu, what happened was."
"I didn't ask what happened and how did that happen. I am just asking you why didn't you inform me immediately. You accused me of insulting your friend Sanjay by closing the door, right? I should have asked you to stay out till you remember that I am your husband and you should tell me as soon as you meet with a problem. Are you trying to put yourself in problem? Do you think you can face anything alone? Answer me," I said seriously as I didn't like the way she behaved this time.
Rudrani stayed silent without answering me.
"Rudrani, I didn't mean to hurt you, baby but please don't behave like this again," I said cupping her face and checking on her to know incase if she was crying with my words but fortunately she was not crying.
"When doctor said that I can never accept you in my life, I cried a lot. I switched off my mobile as I can't speak to you, Ashu. I reached busstop and cried sitting on the bench there. Suddenly, I felt as if my head was spinning. I didn't know when I became unconscious.
When I woke up, I am in a hotel room with Sanjay. Sanjay said he was going on the way and he saw me unconscious in the busstop and he brought me to the nearby hotel. I felt ok after sometime. We thought to leave but cops arrested us saying that hotel is not good which was unknown to both of us.
They took us to the police station. I didn't call you because I was scared of facing you. Ashu, please understand me. I know I should have informed you but I was really frightened to tell you that I was arrested in a police raid with my friend. From my childhood, everyone victimized me for every happening though I didn't do wrong. So, I thought you may doubt me if I call you. Sanjay called his lawyer and he said he will come in the morning, so we stayed there in the station.
After 3 am, someone sent my photo the station ordering them to search for me. They recognised me and brought me to you.
I expected you to scold me for that but you reacted in the opposite way. I thought you will ask me stupid questions and I shouldn't give up as I didn't do wrong. So, to defend myself I was rude to you," Rudrani said everything to me.
I didn't understand whether to laugh or scold her for overthinking and coming to a conclusion by herself. I love her innocence. I didn't know why but all of a sudden, I felt to kiss her harder till she exhausts and my looks fallen on her cute lips. Rudrani realised my looks and blushed making me go mad.
Ashu, control, you shouldn't make any wrong move that hurts her. Rudrani is already upset and now this move may cause more pain to her heart thinking that she is troubling me with her fears.
"Do you really trust me?" Rudrani asked me bringing me out of trance.
"Of course, baby. When you trusted me though I locked the room with Artika on that day, why don't I trust you? I completely trust you," I said placing a kiss on her forehead.
Her innocence, frankness, thoughts, purity of heart, everything is making me go crazy for her day by day. I love my wife.
"I will talk to Artika," I said and turned to go.
But, Rudrani stopped me holding my hand.
"What baby? Do you want to talk anything?" I said.
She shook her head in no and suddenly kissed my lips pulling me near to her. Oh my God, am I dreaming? Is it true? Does my wife kissed me??
