CHAPTER 5: IM OKAY
CALLIX
Being a delivery boy is good before I go to my job I’m going to deliver stuff first and after my, job I’m going to take my wife home and go to my part-time.
“ callix I heard that you’re having a part-time?” my co-manager asked, its lian.
“ ah yes, I need it for my wife” I replied, were checking all customers and staff if they are in good, one of the largest and most well-known restaurants I work for as a manager.
“ devoted husband huh” lian is the one friend of mine.
“ of course!” I was proud so we both laughed but suddenly grabbed my attention.
“ good morning ma’am and sir” we greeted. The unexpected guest is the parents of my wife, I won’t be surprised that they will eat here because most of our customers are rich.
Her mom looked at me from head to toe and her father smiled, our crew guided them as I approached them and greeted them even my image is not good to them, I still had to respect them.
“ mom dad how are you?” I said politely.
“we’re good, how is Trisha?” Trisha’s dad asked.
“ Uhm she’s fine” I can’t tell them what Trisha situation now
“ Are you sure she’s okay?” I looked at Trisha’s mom.
“ yes, mom” she looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
“really? So is it okay with you that you’re just eating three times a day?” she said sarcastically.
“ liza” his husband stopped her but I showed that I was not affected by what she said.
“ what!? I’m just telling the truth! If we have our child it’s not just three times she can eat, she can eat much more and we can give her needs. You saw their latest post when they were in Baguio? I didn’t recognize that child as our daughter because she looks haggard, the stress she looked older than me damn! Tell me did you bring your wife into a spa or salon?” I was stunned by what Trisha’s mom said, she’s right I never took her into a spa or salon.
“ it looks like she gives birth to a dozen but in reality, she doesn’t have even one, what an impotent guy!” her words is too much but I have to accept it.
“ I’m sorry but I’m doing my best to give Trisha needs and about the child-“
“ I don’t need your explanation, we’re hungry so just serve your best dish” she cut to what I am talking so I don’t have a choice but to call the crew and tell their orders.
“ callix” I was about to leave when Trisha’s mom called me.
“ if I found out that our daughter is not good, you will not like the outcome. I warned you” she makes a sharp eye on me.
“ promise I will always take care of her,” I said goodbye to them and left.
“ are you okay?” I know that lian secretly watching us because the last time they came here, Trisha’s mom make a scene and she broke some expensive things inside the restaurant so I have to pay it even it took 4 months to pay all the expenses that she broke.
“ I’m okay” she gave me water so I took it and drank it.
“ you know I’m more nervous to the person who says that they’re ok if it’s not because you don’t know when were they going to explode” I know what lian means but I can still tolerate the way they treat me because I love my wife so if I love my wife, I have to endure this.
“ Maybe that’s how it is when you love” I looked at her and she’s shaking her head.
I’m going to pick up my wife because later I’m going to enter my part-time but when I parked the car I saw Trisha talking to a man, the man is in his back so I cant look at him but it seemed that Trisha knows the person because of the way she smiles and laughed at him.
The man turned his back and I saw Alex, why is he here and why is he talking to Trisha? But when I’m going to get near to them I got a text from my wife ‘hon don’t pick me up I still have to finish my work’ I frowned because based on what I saw she’s not working but why did she text me like that. I saw her getting inside Alex’s car so my heart gets skipped.
I went home and decided not to get entry to my part-time because I want to wait for my wife and asked why did she lie to me? Maybe it didn’t saw them I would believe them but I saw them with my own eyes.
It’s 8:30 in the evening and still, she’s not yet at home and she doesn’t even text me maybe she thought that I’m going home late. I also didn’t cook food because I know that she already ate. I’m worried about her.
I heard a car stop outside so I peeked and say my wife with Alex, ales said goodbye to my wife and she get entered already.
“ why so late hon?” I asked with a smile even though I feel hurt in my heart, she never smiled like that the way she smiled at Alex and I feel hurt. Why it looks like it’s easy to smile like that to him rather than to me.
