CHAPTER 1: HONEYMOON
CALLIX
My husband and I were in Baguio(summer capital of the Philippines) for our honeymoon and we have been married for a long time but no we just decided to celebrate our honeymoon because we both are busy.
“ Good morning hon” I greeted her while cooking breakfast.
“ good morning my handsome husband” she hugged me at my back, she’s so sweet and I love that part of her.
“ just sat their hon and ill take care of our breakfast, I’m going to cook that you never taste within your lifetime” is smiled at her and winked.
“ your corny,” she said while smiling.
“ This is it! The special dish that you will never forget is” I cooked pancakes with fresh fruits.
“ mmmm yummy! So you know how to cook…… pancakes hahaha!” she teased me. I don’t know how to cook, I just watched this video on YouTube so I decide to make it because it is easy.
“ I tried hon but you know I’m not that good at the kitchen,” I said.
“ you just don’t like to learn how to cooked,” she said at the same time smirking at we’re
“ I just rather eat than cook hon” we both laughed.
“ by the way, we’re going to the strawberry farm later,” I said while eating.
“ Ohh I liked that, especially when you pick strawberries and if they don’t see you chew it too hahaha,” she thought that. Silly girl.
“ go ahead so that they will not let you picked your strawberries” I smiled at her but she pouted her lips.
“ oh, that’s unfair” hahaha! How could they be unfair?
“ all right hon, go upstairs to prepare, I’m going to wash these plates then I follow you after I’m done here” she nodded then she walked upstairs.
While I was washing, I heard something break glass sounds so I quickly ran to my wife, maybe someone bad temper got entered but it’s too early for someone to enter and the place was safe.
“ hon!” I approached her because she’s held holding her head while she’s on the floor.
“ ca-callix! My head hurts” she said trembling.
“ wait, how painful?” I don’t know what to do because she’s ok last time so why did it suddenly she having a headache.
“ ahhhhhhh! Callix! Its hurts! It’s hurting so much!” she’s crying so I carry her and quickly went to the car.
“ Trisha we’re going to the hospital” I started the car and went to the hospital. Fortunately, the hospital is pretty near close to where we staying.
The nurses helped me to take care of my wife because she could no longer get along with us because of her headache.
“ What happened to your wife?” the nurse asked.
“ she said that she’s having a tremendous headache” I reply then they went to the examination.
“ stay here sir and wait for us, we will take care of your wife, “the nurse said. I leaned on the wall and thinking about what happened to my wife.
I have never been scared like this and just now I saw my wife writhing in pain like that, what is happening to my wife? We both are health conscious so we never get sick but what is happening to my wife.
I saw the doctor come out so I stood up and greeted one but I feel like his news is bad.
“ Are you the patient’s husband?” the doctor asked so I nodded at him.
“ your wife has calmed down but we want to do a CT scan and other things that can help us find out is the reason why her head is aching so much, the way she looked it is not a simple headache,” the doctor said, I got nervous to his last words.
“ ok doc,” I said.
“ the nurse will come to you later because you’re going to sign some papers,” he said then left while my knee is getting weakening.
We were in a private hospital and my wife stay in a private room, I was waiting for him to wake up but as I was watching her it is suddenly entered my brain that what if my wife will get died? I can’t take that! Since I met her she changed me and give hope to my life and she was the only one that I have.
“hon?” I stood up suddenly.
“ hon how are you feeling? Does anything hurt?” I held it in my hand.
“ I’m fine, didn’t the doctor said anything about what happened to me?” my wife asked.
“ I’m waiting for it too but don’t worry ill take care of it, just rest first” I smiled at her then she closed her eyes.
My wife went back to rest with a knock and a nurse came in with her doctor too.
“ Mr. Garcia did your wife wake up?” he asked.
“ yes, doc but I let her rest again” I replied then he nodded.
“ Mr. Garcia your wife’s CT scan came out, your wife’s headache is because she has a tumor on her head or we call it brain cancer “ I was so weak when I heard that, cancer? How come?
“ But why? Why all of a sudden?” I asked him.
“ not suddenly, because the tumor is still small so it doesn’t feel anything at first yet but because it is growing your wife feels headache. Her condition is not easy Mr. Garcia, there is a high possibility that will affect her daily life and I also inform you that it will not only feel headache, it can also feel liked blurred vision, difficulty speaking, convulsion, vomiting, and many more others” the doctor said.
I sat down because of what the doctor said, I can’t believe this is happening to my wife? Why is that she have to experience this, I can just be the one In pain, not her.
