Duke grabbed the corner of the bed with one hand and Vivian with the other, to prevent Vivian from being thrown out.
The room was already filled with seawater, and the bed had long been soaked.
Duke finally understood why the quilt was so damp and moldy from the start.
Both of them, Great Knights, were tossed around like ragdolls, let alone the others.
Some of the weaker ones had already fainted, lying soaked in the seawater that seeped in.
A few unlucky ones were bleeding from the forehead, unconscious on the floor, and it was unclear if they were still alive.
After the baptism of the giant wave, a few more sailors were missing from the deck, and not even a shadow could be seen.
The captain was still steering the ship, singing an unknown song that sounded like some ancient fisherman’s tune.
In the next moment, the entire ship suddenly rose, with giant waves surging below, carrying the ship atop them.
As the giant waves raced forward, the ship moved with them, forward, and the sea below seemed incredibly far away; the captain could even see several small islands on the horizon.
A moment later, the giant wave descended, and the ship crashed back onto the sea surface.
This impact caused over a dozen more people to lose consciousness on the ship, even Duke couldn’t hold onto the bed corner, slamming heavily against the ceiling.
Vivian was the same, the two quickly grabbed each other’s hands and then embraced tightly.
They were already prepared for the ship to break apart, holding onto each other beforehand to avoid being washed away in the sea.
Duke recalled that when they first boarded the ship, his Black Sword could only leave some scratches on the hull.
Thankfully, this ship was made from this type of wood, otherwise, it would have surely disintegrated in such a storm.
Duke and Vivian held hands, regaining their grip on the bed corner.
Amidst the relentless up and down tossing, who knows how much time had passed, Duke even began to feel a little dizzy.
With his Great Knight-level body, he could barely withstand such stormy waves, let alone others.
About two hours later, Duke didn’t even know when the ship calmed down.
He and Vivian lay by the bed, submerged in seawater, which had seeped in and reached the same height as the bed.
After realizing the ship had calmed down, Duke and Vivian stumbled out of the room and onto the deck.
Once outside, they saw clear skies with not a cloud in sight, and the surrounding sea was calm as if nothing had happened.
Several sailors were tied by ropes, lying unconscious on the deck, some even foaming at the mouth and rolling their eyes.
Captain Blake, with a wet pipe in his mouth, strolled out casually, glanced at Duke and Vivian, and said, "It’s alright now, the storm has passed."
He then walked over, kicking awake the fainted sailors as he passed by, waking them up along the way.
Once the sailors gradually revived, they didn’t have time to count who was missing and began inspecting the ship for damage, while also clearing the seawater that had entered the ship.
Duke and Vivian didn’t stay idle either, helping with the efforts, using buckets to continuously carry seawater to the deck and throw it overboard.
This was also helping themselves; otherwise, they would have to sleep in seawater at night.
A few hours later, most of the seawater in the ship was cleared, though there was still quite a bit left at the bottom.
Many goods were soaked in that seawater and were obviously ruined.
If the merchant who owned those goods found out, he would surely be heartbroken, this trip was a complete loss.
The goods were a minor issue; surviving such a storm was already a great blessing.
After conducting a count, the sailors found that two unfortunate souls had broken their necks during the storm and had tragically perished.
Duke watched as they carried out the bodies, searched them, and then tossed them into the sea.
It’s impossible to keep corpses on a ship; they must be thrown out quickly; otherwise, if an infectious disease were to break out, it would be a major problem.
Duke, feeling something, approached the sailor who had just searched the bodies and asked, "How about selling me that ring?"
This sailor, with dark skin and holding a ring set with a red gemstone, rolled his eyes slyly and tentatively said, "Twenty gold coins?"
"Deal!" Duke agreed immediately, stuffing twenty gold coins over and then taking the ring from the sailor’s hand.
The sailor hadn’t even realized when the ring was gone from his hand.

But by then, it was too late to get the ring back; he could only swallow this silent loss.
Duke hadn’t even examined the ring yet but put it away immediately.
The person who had just died was a Wizard Apprentice, and this ring was indeed a demonized item.
Duke had obtained a demonized item for only twenty gold coins, definitely a huge win.
Vivian also noticed, and the two of them didn’t say a word, quietly returning to their damp room.
The quilt was completely soaked, basically unusable, and had been placed on the deck to dry, unlikely to be fully dry in a short time.

He used his spiritual power to glance inside, seeing both white and black clothes, even some black lace ones.
