Lula gnashed her teeth, "How could she be so strong?"
She had heard Cherry's name before; a rather infamous and beautiful female pirate in the Endless Sea Domain. After disappearing for years, she had re-emerged as the Island Master of Flame Island. Moreover, her strength had become so terrifying!
"The Knight Path is all about condensing and growing the Life Seed, which nourishes and strengthens our bodies," Hawke said solemnly. "Upon becoming a Great Knight, the life force strengthens the internal organs, the skull, and every other organ in the body, making them all stronger. But the human body has its limits. There are places the life force cannot enhance, such as the capillaries and nerves. Only those with the Bloodline of a Duke or the blessing of a Divine being can break through these limits and achieve a fundamental leap in their level of life. "Evil God!" Hawke's gaze shifted past Island Master Cherry to the giant flame statue behind her. "Only the power of a Divine being can help mortals transcend the levels of life."
His voice was laced with shock, fear, and a touch of greed and longing. His eyes flickered.
Legendary! That was an evolution in the level of life itself.
Condensing a Life Seed to become a Knight or a Great Knight indeed increased strength, but it didn't extend one's lifespan. It was only because their bodies were stronger and they suffered fewer ailments that Knights usually lived longer. In fact, if an ordinary person was skilled in maintaining their health, they could live to be eighty, ninety, or even over a hundred years old—not much different from a Great Knight.
But a Legendary Knight has completed this evolution of life, with a minimum lifespan of two hundred years, or even longer.
Who wouldn't be tempted by such an allure?
