Time is moving to quickly, it is now the day before Thanksgiving. Meaning, it has been three weeks and a day since I told Scarlett who I was.
We spend every minute we can together. Our talks tend to carry on well into the night, but neither of us want it any differently.
There hasn't been any intimacy, but only a few stolen kisses here and there. So blue balls have been a thing, cold showers does nothing to help.
I can't complain though, we are just taking things slow and it is what is needed to heal the hurt I caused.
Which brings to another thing, leaving small gifts for her at random and I try to do it twice a week. Each time she tells me she doesn't expect it or that I don't have too, but each telling her I want to earns me a kiss and the gorgeous smile of hers.
My knuckles hit the metal frame hard, leaving that painful thump behind. Being stuck in my own thoughts, just earned me some blood knuckles when the drive socket slipped from a bolt that I was tightening up.
I stand up and shake my hand out, taking a rag in my pant pocket to remove some of the grease on my hand, only to see some blood there.
"Get in a fight with the truck?" Alex jokes.
"Yeah, and it won like always." I chuckle, putting the tool down.
I walk over to the counter and wipe my hands off the best I can and move to the back bathroom where I keep one of the small first aid kits. It is not bleeding much, just need to disinfect it is all.
Going right back to work on the truck, I let out a small huff with a smile. This use to be a piece of junk in the scrap yard but now looks almost brand new. It has taken quite a bit of time, but nothing better than saving a vehicle. Sure, it had minor damage from a previous crash but between Alex and I we got the fender fixed and the comestics done. It is now about finished with a few bolts left will be able to cruise down the road.
Plus cost wise much cheaper. We may need to start getting junkers, fixing them up and selling them for a much more reasonable price than everywhere else. Or give them out to families that need at reliable car.
It is something to consider, especially if we have a slow day. Even if those days are getting farther in between but we both love staying busy.
I finish the truck up and walk across the street to find it was on the slow side for Scarlett and Maddy with the time of day it is with it being right at closing time.
Maddy locks the door and turns the sign off once I step in the shop.
"I am off for the day. Alex still at the shop?" Maddy tells Scarlett then looks at me.
I nod my head and she bounds over to the back door.
"We will see you tomorrow at noon, right?" Scarlett asks Maddy.
"Of course!" Maddy smiles and leaves the shop.
Tomorrow being Thanksgiving, Scarlett is having Alex, Maddy, and myself at her house to where we can all just be together and eat the day away.
I don't want to go to the city to see Mom and the last few phone calls have ended in one of us just hanging up and not speaking. She still fights me on living here and I am a grown man.
Although, I have not been to Scarlett's house since the night I ran out. It seems like Scarlett gets jittery when it comes to her house now and I hate I caused this, but this time I won't be running. That is the promise.
"So what are you up too?" I ask leaning against the counter.
"Christmas flavors. Need an early start." Scarlett smiles.
I look at all the different things she has out on the counter top and some of it causes me to wrinkle my nose.
"What is that face over?" Scarlett asks, eyeing me funny.
"Eggnog? Really, Doll that is not needed in the least." I stare at the flavor like it is evil.
Scarlett's laugh brings me to look at her.
"Got it not an eggnog, guy. Although, love the nickname." Scarlett whispers the last part leaning over towards me.
I kiss her lips and pull back immediately, trying not to yack right here on the counter. Scarlett just doubles over in laughter.
"That eggnog is still gross even from your lips." I wipe my mouth.
Scarlett hands over a regular coffee and I drink it greedily trying to get the flavor off.
"Now something with sugar cookie, I could get behind." I chime in.
"Like this?" Scarlett slides over a cup and I shouldn't but I sniff it first.
Taking a sip of it. Sure enough, there is a hint of sugar cookie but something else is there.
"What is there hidden? It seems to make it better than a normal cookie." I praise her latte.
"Just a dash of caramal." Scarlett smiles.
Scarlett slides another cup to me.
"This one is my favorite. It is a chocolate peppermint expresso." Scarlett bounces on her feet.
I raise my brow at her.
"How many expresso's have you had? You're jittery." I ask, watching her.
"Lost count, doesn't matter anyways." Scarlett waves off.
I order some pizza for delivery and tried the expresso, which it was not as good as the sugar cookie one.
A knock at the door startles Scarlett, and I let her know it is just food. I tip the guy and we sit at the counter eating the pizza drinking her little coffees.
"So are you coming over and staying the night?" Scarlett asks.
I choke some on the pizza.
"I can if you want me too." I reply.
"I want you too." Scarlett smiles, softly.
I kiss her lips and she responds to the kiss. Scarlett pulls back and we clean up the counter and shop quickly.
We kiss by her car for a few minutes after locking up the shops for the night and tomorrow.
