Fifteen minutes passed by with me chanting whatever prayer that came through my mouth. Mr.Ahmad gaze on me wasn't helping matters. Althrough my gaze was casted down while I kept fidgeting with my fingers.
Bang. The door was pushed open. My heart that was once calm picked up its pace once again. I dare not to lift up my head. Scared of the outcome. “Sir” I heard a male voice. It must be the security guard.
Ya Allah help me!
“We found this sir”
bang!
My eyes immediately snapped towards them finding the unfamiliar security man handing the man my phone and a card. I don't have to be told to stand up. I slowly made my way towards them.
Ahmad gave me a look then back to the man. Grabbing the items from his outstretched hands, he accessed the unfamiliar card. Then back to the phone.
Sorry Nabil, I think you have to leave for now. Some urgent work came through. I will get the file for you at home.
He read it out. What? That was my message to Nabil. Ya Allah!
“I can explain sir. This is-"
“You can explain what? This is enough proof. So you and Sadeeq are conspiring against me right. From the very first day I met that guy, I have a bad feeling about him. Tell me how much did sparkle paid you? Huh”
Before I could open my mouth to speak up, he yelled again. “How much did they pay you and Sadeeq?”
“Sir like I said I don’t have any idea about it and for this message Sadeeq wanted to take a look at my presentation nothing else. I swear I wasn’t the one who leaked the information” I muttered the last part my eyes welling up.
I don’t think revealing Sadeeq will help matters and beside I’m not yet sure about everything.
“Here call Sadeeq. Since you'll not going to speak up, I'll make him do” he thrust the phone to me. With my weak hands, I dailed Nabil’s number.
“Assalamu Alaikum”
“Put it on speak loud” Ahmad ushered.
“Wa alaikum salam” I replied my voice coming out low. The line went silent for a while before his voice resonate again. “Are you okay? Why Is your voice low”
“Because your little secret has been exposed” Ahmad answered instead. And yet another pile of silence fell in the room.
“Now cat got your tongue? Your little secret has finally been exposed to me today. You have nothing to defend yourself with. I have the evidence already”
“Mr.Ahmad-”
“Sadeeq. If you think you're innocent then come to the office immediately ” he didn't wait to hear what he had to say, he ended the call snatching the phone away.

I have never felt suffocated and scared altogether in my life like I was feeling. Crying Is not an option. I only chant dua. A knock emerged from the door and Ahmad usher the person in. Nabil face surfaces and his eyes immediately went to me. The tears I've been holding finally made their way out. The disdain look Ahmad threw at us tells me we're indeed in big trouble which only Allah can get us out.
The clapping of hand revamped through the room “And here comes the guy. Welcome Sadeeq”
I don't know what to call the expression on Nabil’s face yet, I would say he looked pissed. “You called for me” was the first word that came out of his mouth.
“Yes. I believe I don't have to ask you again but to enlighten you I will explain to you. Your working partner here” he pointed to me. “Was given a confidential file by me to read through which we had a meeting on earlier this morning. Now I asked of the file, she told me she dosen't have it. We're still on the matter when I received a call from my source that our biggest rival company sparkle just announced their new project which is the exact with the one we had discussed earlier. The complete design and everything and we didn't display the plan only discussed briefly”
“We did a thorough search and found her conversation with you. So I believe that is enough proof against you” he ended with a clapping of hand.
“Sir-” I began getting cut off by Nabil with a wave of hand. He leaped forward standing few miles away from Mr.Ahmad.
“Sir I have nothing to say regarding the message because it's indeed true. We did communicate but it has nothing to do with the dismissal of the file. I only wanted to take a look at the design and I think the reason why she said she would bring it to me at home is because she couldn't find the file at that time. I suggest you do a thorough check. The culprit might be lying around the office whereas you're interrogating the wrong person”
“So you mean to tell me upon all the evidence pointed towards her, I should do more research. Up till now you haven't tell me who you're working for. I know from the moment my mom hired you, something is off. You are not what you feign to be”
“I am what you think I am” Nabil ushered back. And both stare at each other with visible anger plastered on their faces. I could see Nabil clenching his fist that I'm afraid he'd blow his cover and I won't let that happen. For all his hard work to go in vain.
“Are you now exchanging words with me because your identity has been exposed?” Ahmad was the first to break the silence.
“I’m just saying what is right” Nabil almost seethe.
Ahmad stood up from the desk he was sitting, up to where Nabil was standing. “Do you know that I can make your life miserable without anyone knowing or you doing anything?”
“I repeat sir she's innocent. Someone is behind it. You shouldn't forget who she is. She left her city just to work for you and-”
“I hired her for a reason and now that she turned against me she'll be of no use to me” My eyes widened at his statement.
He hired me for a reason?
“You shouldn't toy around with people's life” Nabil said his fist tightening more.
“Why? Because you're working together? Or....” he trailed off his eyes shifting to me. I immediately tore my gaze away.
“Or because you like her”
