He turns around and walks over until he is in front of me, pressing his forehead to mine. He looks at me for a couple of seconds in which his eyes transmit everything that his mouth refuses to do and he only needs to see me smile to take over my lips again, this time with greater tenderness. I start to take small steps back and feel an unsuspecting blow to my legs. He laughs in the middle of the kiss and I guess I hit the edge of the bed. I bring one of my hands back, resting it on the soft surface of it and then letting my back fall slightly on the mattress.
And from one moment to another Samuel is already on top of me, supporting himself with his elbows around my body, without removing his lips from mine at any time. I feel the contact of his hands under my shirt and I take a seat, thus facilitating the elimination of it, which flies through the air until it lands in a corner of the room. The same thing happens with his shirt, unlike in his case I am the one in charge of removing it from his body.
When he looks at me for the first time, a pang of panic invades me and the nerves begin to dominate my little covered body.
- Do you feel okay?
He asks running his fingers over my cheekbones, which I don't want to imagine how red they are showing right now. I swallow hard, lifting my head and looking into his eyes.
May: Samuel I never ...
And I'm just left with nothing more to say, as if the words have disappeared from my vocabulary.
Samuel: I know (smiles)… and it is okay.
May: But ...
Samuel (interrupts me): Do you trust me?
He asks, staring into my eyes as I can't get away from his in no time since I first saw him that morning. I nod, feeling his lips on mine again.
I already lost count of the amount of time I have been looking at the same photograph, surrounded by a wenge wood frame. There must be something that catches my attention so much, that it makes me so addictive to see the same illustration over and over again, even though I know that not even by magic will something change in its content. I finally find out: the wide smile on Samuel's face. He must be several years younger than he is now, around 16 or 17 perhaps. He is standing, leaning slightly forward, wrapping his arms around the shoulders of an adult couple, so that his head is in the middle of the two strangers. I make up my theory that it must be his parents, before his father did what he did years ago.
I put the photo on the nightstand from where I took it and turn in my place, finding myself with Samuel, more asleep than ever. The white sheet with gray stripes only covers him to the waist, so that most of his torso is exposed. But it is not there where my eyes are fixed now, but on his face that with closed eyes seems more harmless than usual and his disheveled hair that scatters on the white pillow.
- What are we doing, Samuel?
I feel the need to touch it to make sure that this image is real and I do it, controlled by my impulses. My fingertips travel every inch of his face, analyzing him completely and ends up melting into his tousled hair, trying to comb it even a little.
I get out of bed leaving him alone in it and start looking for my clothes ... or I try to. After dressing completely I look for a door inside the room besides the one we entered yesterday. I can't find anything, considering that the bathroom must be outside your room. I go back to the bed and lean over it. He is still sound asleep and the truth is that I have no intention of stopping, so I place a heartfelt kiss on his forehead and leave his room once and for all.
Luckily for me, the bathroom turns out to be the next door. I leave a few minutes later and go to the living room, avoiding making noises with my steps. I leave the house without running into anyone else and I feel lucky when the doorman opens the front door of the building without asking for an explanation.
I take the first taxi that appears on the avenue and I give him the address of my house, asking him to hurry as much as possible so that I can get to college a little later. After a few minutes he parks in front of the black bars so familiar to me and I get out, heading for the door once one of the guards opens the bars. I take a deep breath and walk inside, thinking about the excuse I'll make up for being away all night and to cover up Samuel's absence.
