CHAPTER 23: HE SAW US
Leonard woke up from sleep. His head was still a bit sore from last night’s drunkenness and fever.
He notices something on his forehead, so he picked it up with his right hand. He looked at it; what object was already laying on his forehead as his eyebrows rose in wonder why a small towel had landed on it.
He rubbed his body. He also wondered why he was already wearing a t-shirt that Leonard remembered took off his clothes when Leonard entered the room, so he decided to ask his wife.
He got up from the bed and went into the bathroom to wash. After washing up, he went out of the room to look for his wife.
He knew that there was only one place his wife liked to go to in the morning; that was the kitchen, so he immediately stepped down the stairs, and Leonard was in the living room. He immediately went to the kitchen.
When he came to the kitchen, his eyes widened because of what he saw! His brother was hugging his wife, and it seemed it would kiss her, so his chest seemed tightened at sight!
He doesn’t know why he feels this way even though he doesn’t like his wife. He couldn’t help but clench his two hands when he didn’t realize that something had touched his left hand on a cutlery cabinet while his hand was gripping.
“Clank…!” he broke a vase with engraved decorations…

As I close my eyes, I was suddenly distracted by something broken, so I turned to see where the sound of the fractured object came from, and not only did I look, but so did Ethan.
My eyes widened at what I saw! It turned out to be my husband, who had just bent down to pick up the broken thing.
My chest throbbed with fear that what if he saw Ethan and me, so in my panic, I quickly let go of Ethan and immediately approached him, and like him, I bent down to pick up the broken item. Ethan followed me too.
When I picked up the broken vase, I was injured, so I uttered, “ouch,” once holding unto my bleeding finger.
Ethan was worried. He would have taken my hand when my husband took my injured hand at once said, “You are so careless!” he uttered in anger. I can feel the tension between the two of them.
Then he grabbed my arm and walked away from the kitchen as I followed him without saying a word. He continued walking towards the stairs until we reached our room.
He immediately opened our door and pulled me towards the bed; that’s why I’m sitting on it. I was still speechless as my husband let go of my arm and walked into the walk-in closet.
When he came out of the closet, he was already carrying a medicine kit. His face is still angry but the opposite of how I felt.
I realized that he is also thoughtful, so I felt joy in my heart, but I did not make it obvious.
He was getting closer to me, so my chest throbs. I expected him to treat me when he handed me the medicine kit at once said, “Here is the medicine kit; treat yourself,” I just accepted it without saying a word.
I was disappointed because I thought he would treat me, but he didn’t. I thought he was thinking, but it was the opposite. He is so cold towards me. I can say that there is no hope that we will ever be, so I just opened the medicine kit on my own and tried to treat myself.

Leonard secretly looked at his wife, who was bent over while trying to treat herself. He wanted to help her, but he was annoyed by what he saw earlier in the kitchen, so he let him treat herself.
He was still watching it. As Alyssa opened the sterilized gauze pad, it fell to the floor that he couldn’t help himself, so he approached it and picked up the fallen gauze pad.
“Allow me to treat you,” he uttered in a cold voice.

I looked at my husband as he said these words. Even though he didn’t like me, he still felt pity for me, and I was content with it, so I answered him by nodding and letting him treat me.
He bent his body and started to treat my wound while staring at him until he finished treating me. I was still staring at his beautiful face.
“What?” he asked with a cold voice, so I blushed and just reason, “T-There was something in your face?” at the same time pretending to pick up dirt in his face.
“What did you pick up on my face?” he asked in wonder.
“A-A dirt,” I lied.
“Oh, okay,” he agreed, simultaneously standing up.
He took the medical supplies, stuffed them back into the kit, and then carried them back into the closet.
I remembered that I still have class today. I hurried to get dressed. I immediately went into the closet to put on a uniform.
When I entered the closet, Leonard and I met. He wondered why I was in such a hurry to join, so he asked me. “Why are you in a hurry? Where are you going?”
“Hmm, my class is early today,” I answered, so he cleared the way for me, and I immediately went in to get dressed while Leonard came out to the closet.
I was in a hurry to get dressed, and when I had finished dressing, I immediately went out of the closet, took my shoulder bag, slung it over my shoulder, and took my books.
I looked in the mirror again to check my appearance and took a deep breath. Then, I turned on the bed to say goodbye to my husband, but he was no longer in the room, so I left the room and decided not to say goodbye.
I was already on the stair, as I stopped walking again, hoping to see my husband but he wasn’t there, so I continued to step until I reached the main door and opened it.
