"Mom!!" I burst angrily at her through the phone. Fuck! I can't believe she did this.
"Look Kenneth, I'm sorry okay? It wasn't my fault. I overheard your father and your uncle's conversation. I couldn't stand what he was saying about you to him and that's why I did what I did. I and no other option." She tried to explain herself.
"You heard father and Uncle James talking about me?."
"Yes. He was telling your father he bet the reason why you stopped coming over to the house for the time being was because you're scared you haven't found any girl yet. He was convincing your father to hand over the empire to his son since he was positive he will handle it so well and you wouldn't. You, on the other hand, haven't been helping issues. You went around and sleep with all the girls you meet.. you're killing your mother slowly you crazy boy." She hissed at me.
I can't help but roll my eyes at her even though she can't see me.
"Still mom, you shouldn't have told them I will be coming over tonight. I'm not ready to come to that house."
"Really?! You're not ready to come to your parent's house? Have you forgotten we're your parents? The last time I set my eyes on you was 2 months ago."
"Mom, just two months ago. Stop making it look like it's been a decade."
"Kenneth Domanco, this is an order... You better bring your ass to the house tonight else, you won't like the other side of me." She threatened.
"But mom, I-" Before I could say anything, she hang up the call on me.
Shit!
I wasn't even prepared for this. Now, I'll have no other choice but to go there else, mom will cut off my head.
I had no idea how my eyes landed on Chloe's contact and, I smiled a little bit. To think about it, she has almost same personality as a mom.
And, her too.
I just hope, she will accept her for who she's.
She might not like the idea about her considering the past encounter of Chloe.

I walked them into the dining room and everyone is complete. I mentally rolled my eyes before hissing. I hate everyone sitting here aside from my parents.
"Look who finally decide to show up after a long time." My dad said in a sarcastic tone the moment his eyes came in contact with mine.
"Dad, good evening." I greeted him before hugging my mom.
"Domanco, stops it, this is not the right time for this." My mom scolds him. Even though he's the president of the country, my mom could control him with a little snap of her finger.
This is what happens when one is in love. Never! I'm never going to experience that again. And what about her?
No, no Ken... Refrain yourself. She shouldn't be a topic you're going to get worked up on- I reminded myself.
"I'm glad you could make it." Mom said as she got up and hug me tightly for the second time.
"Geez mom, you acting like it's been long since you set eyes on me."
"Silly boy!" She glared and hit my arm with her delegate tiny hand. "Two months is enough for me to miss my son." She eyed me.
"Welcome, Ken." My uncle said to me with a smile on his face. Of course, I know that smile wasn't real.
"Thank you."
"Hey, it's been a while since we have last seen." His son, Joshua my cousin said to me. I didn't utter a word, I only nod my head.
The maid served my meal and we all start to eat. "How is the new company you're about to launch? It's been a few months now and you're hesitating. What's keeping you?." My dad questioned me.
Can he just drop this discussion? I hate it when I'm being questioned.
"Domanco!! Maintain some decorum, will you? We're eating." Mom eyed him.
Thank you so much for coming to my rescue dear mom.
"But I just wanted to know how my so-"
"At least, not now. It's been a while since we saw him. Let's all enjoy the moment first." Mom cut him off again.
"But Alice, I see no wrong in what brother is saying? Ken needs to be serious about his life. He's no longer a kid. Just three weeks ago, I saw the scandal of him dating Mr. Lemiere's daughter. I hope, this is not one of your tricks again."

"Talking about Lemiere's daughter, Kenneth. I hope you know, she's a governor's daughter. She isn't someone you could toy with. I have no problem with you dating her but, have it in mind that she isn't one of the girls you can have fun with and dumped as you want." My dad said in a serious tone.
Now, I'm getting pissed already. I drop the knife and fork in my hand. "Dad, I wasn't dating her. She's just a friend and also my business partner. You know how these paparazzi work, they fly out any news without getting to the root of it. Any slight thing about me, they make sure they fly it all around for popularity, especially this organization." I explained to him. It seems he's getting old already and starting to forget how this paparazzi work. "And you, uncle..." I trailed off and scratch the nape of my neck a little bit. "why don't you focus more on your son here? I think he needs all the love and attention you gave to me instead. I heard, he made a loss of $30 million just five days back, not only that... The drill ship company in Japan was also burnt to ashes.. isn't that quite a lot of money and loss?." I smirked at him.
"You bastard!!" He burst angrily at me.
"Why are you upset? We're family, right? And we ought to advise each other."
"Ken, that's enough." My Dad said.
"But dad, I was only tr-"
"I said, that's enough!" He cut me off again. "Is this true?." He asked as he face his brother.
"Josh, talk to me. Is what your brother said the truth?."
"Yes."
"Why didn't you tell me about it?."
"Probably, he feels ashamed and can't talk to you about it."
"Ken!" My Dad cautioned me.
"Why are you trying to shut me up? He was here making fun of me and saying things to me just now, you never said anything about it and now, when I tried to talk... You're getting upset? Maybe, I shouldn't have come here tonight. I made a mistake." I hot the table angrily and got up from my seat.
"Ken please, it hasn't gotten to this. What are you doing?." My mom tried to calm me down.
"I think, I've overstayed my welcome here, excuse me." I said and walk away. I heard my father calling my name but, I'm not in the mood to face him right now.
"Ken, Ken please wait! My son, please..." My mom trailed after me.
"Mom, what do you want?." I finally stopped and asked her in an irritated tone.
"Can we talk?."
"Mom, as you can see... I'm on my way out. I do not wish to spend a second again here."
"What nonsense are you saying? This is your house and now, it's disgusting to you? Do you even consider me your mother? I'm trying my best to calm you down and you aren't even ready to listen to me. Is this how you want to continue to hurt me? When are you going to stop this daily fight between you, your father, and his brother?." She questioned me in a frustrated tone. If there's anything I hate is to see my mom in pain or tears, I do not like the thought of it at all.
"Hey, Mom! Come on, that's enough. You know how much I hate seeing you like this." I said and embrace her in a tight hug.
"Can we at least go into my room and talk? You just came here not quite long. You haven't taken a full dinner yet. Can't you control this temper of yours?." She asked me calmly.
"Mom, I need to leave. I have down important files I need to take care of."
"Work again? Is your work more important than your mom?."
"But mom-"
"Please son." She gave me a puppy face.
"Fine!" I finally succumbed.
