Smith Drew POV
The following morning, I got up from the bed, still having a slit effect of the drugs I had last night, my feet walk downstairs and I took notice of my son seated with some business associate of the company, they turned their eyes the second my presence was felt.
"Good morning sir," one of them said, sewing my son's attention back, immediately he gets up from the couch and rushed over to me, "father!! Why are you here? You should be resting?" Darren says with a worried look on his face.
"Urgh!! I am fine my son, you do know how much I hate bed resting". I answered as we walked back together.
(An hour later)
Darren left together with them and at the same time, I veered and saw Karol strolling out of her room.
She smiles her way downstairs, oblivious to my presence, and the second her eyes fell on mine, it lits up.
"Good morning father in law!! I hope you're feeling better now". Karol says to me, and I felt she being sarcastic, so I muttered back, "good morning, and to answer your question, I am feeling much better, thanks for asking".
We both shared a weak smile, and she walks away, maintaining the exact look on her face, a weird feeling covers every time, Karol presents her presence to me, who exactly is she? And why do I have such a weird feeling about her?". (Frowns).
"Honey!!! Why are you out of bed, I was worried about you?"
I repaired my attention over and saw my wife ambling close to me, she wears a frown and middle to hear my response.
"My love!! I am okay, don't get worried about me, and besides, a little scare can't make me seize from being myself". I shoot a warm smile and walked over to the dining room for breakfast.
I waited for the food to be served, and the second my ration was given to me, my wife took and tasted it before I could, lifting my head.
"Huh!!! what's that for? I asked her.
"Nothing am just being careful" she airs out, donning a smile.
I know the reason behind her weird behavior, my wife figured it was best to get the food prepared by the cook, just to avoid not getting poisoned again.
"I think we should all be careful, seat down, and let's have our breakfast".
(She dimes her smile and sat down next to me).
