It was clear to me that prince Sepo was not going to tell me where Wina was, so I stopped asking.
" I'll go back to my quarters." I said disappointed.

I opened the door and leaned my back against it to let him in. When he did I closed the door and sat at the table that had two chairs in the ante chamber.

" Did I say something wrong? I inquired.
He smiled at me and shook his head.

" No" he said quietly, withdrawing into himself a minute later.

" I know." He had a sad glare
" What's wrong now?" I asked... My brown eyes where on him and didn't falter.
" I want to tell the King and Queen that you are not dead, so you can claim your place as Queen", his smile was grim. Regret creeping in.

" Not much" he said bitterly.

There was a knock at the door.
" Come in" I shouted.
" My lady, Prince Lubasi's wife, Princess Nanku is in labour, and the Prince sent for you?"
" Tell him, she is not coming , they should call a royal midwife." I was already on my feet when I stopped to look at Prince Sepo.
" What do you mean? I have to go, it's what I do... I heal people."
" How is labour a disease?" I knew he was right but I had done it for other people and I have never thought twice about it."
" I can't question Nyambe's will, this is what he wants me to do".
" No, that's not it, it's because you have this ability, that you think, it's ok to do these insignificant things for people. I hate that you heal these people and I can't do anything about it. I tilted my head, my eyes still on his face.
" That's good to know, am glad it's like that."
"Yes" he continued " So I don't need you healing me, and I wouldn't look good, if my worriors heard I cheat by putting my little pain on my wife to carry for me, I would lose face."

" And, I want you to be healthy for us to have children, don't you want that? he asked rubbing my hand with the tips of his fingers.
My throat suddenly thickened and I had to clear it. I swallowed hard appalled by the great one's words.
