Accusation
Jhonia woke up and realized the outside was still darkened. She wondered why she was awake for no reason? She sat up and looked at the time. 5.:00 AM. Jhonia stood from the bed and went downstairs. While Nearce was on the phone inside their closet.
"I'm sorry, but understand that I can't see you anymore. If my wife finds out she might leave and she won't take the blame for me, let's end it here! I gave you money so just find someone else." Nearce apologized and explained over the phone.
“You promise to love me forever, Nearce, you are leaving me for a woman you have not yet touched, you bastard! I will not accept it, you most, you will return to me.” The female responded to him and said to him, she was quite angry. She demands he return to her.
“I can't anymore, sometimes we make promises we didn't know we could keep! Don't do anything stupid. I will call you tomorrow to check on you. Okay? Go back to bed!” Nearce said, after hanging up the call! He walked from his part of the closet and out he was surprised to see Jhonia, standing with her shoulder leaning on the wall!
"Oh God, why are you standing there?" Nearce asked? Jhonia looked up at him, she showed him her cup with water.
“Next time you wish to speak without waking me on your phone, please, do so downstairs. I don't want to be woken up by my six senses like a crazy person. Also, before you even think about it! Don't!” Jhonia said while looking at him before she walked away from him taking a deep breath. As she walked to the bed and sat down, it was 5:15 AM.
While Nearce stood at the closet door wondering if she had heard his conversation. After some time standing there, he decided to walk to the bedroom section of the room.
"My call was a business call, I would have taken it here but"
“You don't need to explain your calls to me, Mr. Pinnock if I have made you feel that way? Then, I apologize.” Jhonia looked over at him kneeling onto the bed while she lay down on her phone. After saying that, he asked? And apologize to him, she typed on her phone then closed the screen and put it on the bedside table. Immediately after she places the phone down, it vibrates and she sits up taking the phone.
“Sorry. I don't wish to disturb you, I will be downstairs.” Jhonia said, getting up from the bed as the only friend she has replied to her message.
"You ill-mannered bitch, how dare you to text with others in my presence. Is this how your dead parents teach you to act, huh? What's wrong with you? I went aside to speak on my phone but you dare to text another man in my presence. You even want a high view to spend one whole hour, with whom did you sleep with, Jhonia?" Nearce lashed out at Jhonia, immediately. Knowing what he did he now feels she is doing the same, as he was so loud he woke everyone including his mother down across the hall! Everyone rushed in to see Jhonia standing there looking at him in silence.
“Thank you, thank you so much for reminding me that of my “death” parents, but Mr. Pinnock no one asked you to marry someone whose parents are dead.” Jhonia said to him with tears in her eyes. His mother stood with disappointment. The maids felt sorry towards Jhonia because no one was aware of her parents' passing. Jhonia, phone rings and she answers but accidentally puts it on speaker as she was putting the phone to her ear.
“Jhonia. Why are you not responding to me?” Josephine asked? ...A female voice asked? Everyone was surprised to hear that the voice was a female instead of a male like she was accused of! Mrs. Pinnock walked over to Jhonia, to hug her and began to apologize to her.
“Jhonia, I'm so”
“Don't touch me!” Jhonia shouted at her, cutting off the apology. She tosses the phone to the bed, she then walks towards the closet, after some time... Jhonia returned wearing her dress and shoes which she went there in. Along with her father and mother's journal in her hand... She leaves the room and Mrs. Pinnock glances at the clock, and there she sees the time.
“Fifteen minutes ago, she was accused of cheating by her husband, Nearce the girl knows little to know one here! Who will she go to? Would it have killed you to ask, God damn it? You! Go wake up her driver and mine, send them after her. Please, tell them to return Jhonia back to me.” Mrs. Pinnock said as she finished. Crissian, the maid favoured by Jhonia, rushed off to deliver the message. Mrs. Pinnock turns to Nearce, he stands in regret not knowing what to say or what to do.
“Why did you do it? ...Do you know when your father first began cheating on me, he would constantly accuse me of cheating because he thought his guilt was being done by me... But it was being done by him, so because he was stepping out of our marriage his guilts led him to believe I was too. You would hate it too, to see her leave you said, but now just look at what you did? You chase her out. I was poor too just like her, and only had my dying mother who didn't even get the chance to send me off on my own wedding day. She had died the night before... So when you think to say such again remember that, I, your mother, was where she was.”
Mrs. Pinnock said, patting his shoulder with her last words as she stood properly! She leaves him to think about her accusation which he had led on her. 7: 45 AM. The drivers by cars kept searching for their madam but didn't find her. Meanwhile, an hour later Josephine met Jhonia on the road walking. Sweating and seemed tired.
“Jhonia! Hey! Jhonia!” Josephine called but Jhonia wasn't paying attention as she was not feeling well! Her memory going back and forth with every little detail of when her parents died.
“Keep it with you at all times, open it and read it when you're ready. But not now, right now you need to strap yourself in your seat. Quickly.” Her mother’s words replayed in her head.
Jhonia felt weak in her legs as she was walking for three hours. Josephine stopped the cab and went over to her, just in time before she lost consciousness. The cab driver left the car and went to help! After putting Jhonia in the car, her driver passed by looking at each side of the road but didn't see Jhonia. After some time Jhonia woke up in the city hospital, to a friendly face.
"Ms. Smith, it's good to see you. Again." The doctor said, with a smile. Jhonia began to sit up, the doctor quickly rushed over to help her afterwards he sat down next to her.
"How are you doing?" The doctor asked, looking at her.
“I'm okay, I wanted to visit you but it seems I made it early. I wasn't sure if I would have found you but it would have been worth the shot.” Jhonia said, with a smile however, the doctor didn't return the smile.
"You are not taking care of yourself these days, Jhonia. You're here in the hospital... Tell me"
“I got married by contract.”
Jhonia said, cutting him off! The doctor widens his eyes with surprise. He stood immediately looking at Jhonia, his phone rang and he was still in shock with what he just heard. He ended the call and pointed at her, while stepping back Jhonia nod in agreement.
