EVANS POV.
I threw my hands into my hair while I took in a long puff of breath as I listened on to her words, it was making no sense and worse still I felt terrible for lots of reasons, given the fact that my mother was mostly at fault this once , it was obvious and ciara being herself had gotten herself into the fucking bait.
“Mum, you really can't keep doing all that, you know you need her space and you will always remain the first woman I had ever loved but she is my new family now and you have no other choice other than to accept her.” I explained.
The frown on her face deepened, she was clearly not on the same point I wanted her to be, it was good at first, she was excited and all like every other mother would have been the very minute I explained about my situation of having a wife but the wedding preparations began and I mostly found it hard to understand her anymore.
“you've stopped coming home, but you've stayed up with her for as long as you want…”
“mom!.” I yelled out from pent up frustration while anger settled in within me.

“It's unfair, you really keep doing these things because you can and she can not, what do you suppose you would have done If dad had a sister who popped right by your entrance in and over when she got the chance to?.” I asked and a scoff escaped her lips.
“I'm not a bad person, I love you Evan's, and I don't know but it doesn't seat right with me, letting you go off with a woman who would not even respect my ideas on your wedding, what if you get married to the likes of hers and she managed to get you turned off and away from me completely? Then what is left of me.” she asked and gloated freely.
I was snot getting where he worry riled up from.
“she is my fiance, maybe if you spent much time trying to understand her than judge her then you also will understand why it is that she had been doing all of this, unlike we are, she is not from the whole noisy drop dead wealthy family and she is trying so hard just to keep up, most times I feel like I had pressured her way too much into doing things she was snot required to. . It's unfair, we are all being unfair on both her and myself.” I explained.
There was a brief silence between us all, myself and my mother as we both stared right at each other, lost at words..
“I'm sorry evans, I know I should not be so hard on her but I'm worried, it's been you and I for a really long time, and seeing how you changed from the all busy man into a father as soon as she gave birth made me somewhat jealous, you would certainly not have some space set off for me when it got down to her you suddenly became different.
I don't want to lose another loved one of mine again, first of it was your father and then it came down to you, what else would I say up against it, I could not keep things off from you evans, I'm purely jealous, I should not get to loose you to some other kid as well.”
I pulled her into a warm hug, sat right next to her while we both stared right at each other.she had been a good woman, a loyal mother who had gone through all hell just so I could succeed in my endeavor, she was like a shield, a huge protective wall built around me.
But she needed to know, she had done enough, I could take it from there.
“I'm sorry mother, if I had by chance made you believe I would ever leave you but I can not, I'll keep doing things on the stance of my father, I would always be with you but is it not good that you have a daughter in law who wants the best for her husband, I'm your son, aren't you bothered about her true qualities rather than some other fancy wedding?.
I bought gifts and she refused them, saying she needed my profits returned into the business rather than buying her baseless things, and I was humbled mother, I had met with different women, ladies, people but none like ciara, I would definitely not make the wrong choice, you trained me well remember?.” I asked and she nodded briefly.
She warmed up to me with a warm smile on my face, it had made me feel somewhat secure.
“I'm sorry, please tell her to proceed with the wedding as she seems fit and if she by chance wants to call it all off I'm also fine with that, now this old lady would head on back to her home to the warm comfort of her blanket and you kiss my grandchild goodnight for me will you?.”she asked and rose to her feets.

“You can still sleep in our home and then tomorrow you leave.” I added in which a whole scoff escaped her lips.
“it's okay evans I'm doing well, for all I know okay. Besides I got driven here, Harry is still out in the car, he'll take me back home, I think I've done enough, caused enough havoc for you couples, I'll be out of your hair henceforth.” she added in and relief washed over me instantly.
“hang on… in about a little bit of time we'll have all this handled, let me grab my coat and walk you over to your car…” I added in as I grabbed a jacket against the couch and we both walked side by side while the silence was thick until she got to her car, she kissed me slightly against my head and I waved her goodbye whilst I watched Harry drive her off and out through my gates.
I stared up in the sky, it was beautiful, the air was cold and the night was chill, but then I wondered if she was right, if I would grow feeling that way, I was not so sure about it but above all, one thing I had been dying to have was simply put, a happy life.
