I knew what was going to happen but I still remained stuck here and could not speak.
The fast beating of my heart earlier felt like a volcano about to explode now because of the hot feeling I was feeling.
I also seem to have butterflies in my stomach right now. I can’t think straight because of the feeling.
But I braced myself, there was only one thing I had to do and that was to stop him from what he was going to do.
Before he could apply his soft lips to mine, I gently pushed him to his chest, I should have pushed him hard so that he was far away from me, but due to the weakness of my body, his body only slightly moved away, close it’s still mine.
Our eyes met, I could see the surprise in his eyes, but it wasn’t just surprise that I saw there, his eyes showed more sadness than surprise.
I couldn’t help but bow down, I couldn’t stare long into his eyes, especially now that I saw sadness.
Could it be that he was sad because he thought I didn’t like what he was going to do? Or was he sad because I couldn’t fill his anger?
“Are our students having fun?” The Dean asked us with a smile.
“Yes!!”
“Of course!”
“That’s fucking right!”
“Whooooo!”
Those are just a few of the words I heard from the students who cried.
All the students gathered again in this huge park because the Dean had an announcement.
We have finished eating dinner, and my teammates’ pranks are also over.
I looked around the sea of people to see if Wilder was around.
After I left the tent where Wilder was, I didn’t see him around anymore.
Where is he?
“The night is still long and the pity you will feel is still long. We have another activity and this activity is show casing the talent of each one of you, this activity’s ability is to have a fun together, have friends, be cooperative and be confident. “ Dean’s explanation.
“This activity is called Tell and Show. Each team should have two groups that will show either dancing, singing or what your talents are that you can share to everyone of us. The one who will amaze us and stand out, out of all teams will win. The prize for this activity is you will not have to clean this whole park when we leave, let’s just leave it to the loosing team, alright? Plus the winning team will be excepted in project.” The Dean promised with a smile.
“Whooooo!”
“We’ll win this fucking activity!” The green team shouted.
This green team is one of our fiercest opponents, because they are just as desperate to win as we are.
“As if!!!” Lyra, one of my artistic groupmates, made a good promise.
“Okay, team. We should put pure sexy girls in this game.” Our leader said with a smile.
The men in my group are also smiling now, not only the men but also the women. Aren’t they worried about what our team leader thinks?
“You guys come here and I thought of something to do.” We gathered in the same corner to discuss what our team leader had in mind, when everyone agreed on what was thought to be done, the others immediately arranged to finish and be ready.
I thought of walking around the whole park first, to see what others are doing, maybe they will imitate us, because we have a very common mind. I’m not the next one yet, because someone came before me and there will be others.
While I was walking, I noticed a familiar figure standing near a tent, beautiful women surrounded him, he was smiling as if nothing had happened before, in fact nothing had happened.
Wilder…
I intend to approach it. But I was convinced to hear what he said.
“What the fuck? Wilder? Why your with her?”
“Does she already give in to you?”
“Nerdy slut, huh?”
“Is she wild?”
Various questions were asked by the women and a few men there.
“Yup, she’s not that good.” Wilder said that it was as if he hated it.
Unexpectedly, our two eyes met from a distance, his face was blank. No emotion is shown. I can’t read the contents of his mind.
Why am I feeling this way?
Why does he have to lie?
Nothing really happened, but why is he letting it out?
Why did his friends know that?
Am I just betting?
What is this game?
With so many questions in my mind, I couldn’t even answer them, I didn’t realize that I ran far from the park, I was already in the jungle. It’s very dark here, only the light of the moon serves as my light.
I looked around, there are many twists and turns here.
How can I get it back? It’s so dark, I don’t know how I got here. How?
I started walking, trying to remember how to get out of here but I was stopped when suddenly a raspy voice called my name.
“Fertine…”
Even though the whole place was dark, I could still see his face, because of the light of the moon.
“What are you doing here?!” My voice was still calm even though it was irritated to say that.
Did he follow me? Chased? Why?
He didn’t say a word, he didn’t make a move either, he remained standing in front of me.
“What is your problem?!” The tone of my voice rose, but he didn’t even budge.
“What are you doing here? Did you follow me? Why did you follow me? After everything you said earlier to your girls and friends? What’s the fool?” I couldn’t stop myself from venting my anger and asking him the questions that kept popping into my mind, never leaving me.
“Wilder! What?!...” I said weakly. It only gave me a blank expression. It stared at me silently. I was crazy to think of all this madness.
“Answer!” My voice got louder, all of this is because of him, I shouldn’t feel my heart beat faster and my body weaken whenever he’s around, I tried to stop and avoid that feeling many times but why seems to only get worse?
It’s all his fault! I’m going crazy.
