Moon woke up the next day earlier than Ocean. He looked down at his angel still asleep upon him. He stroked her cheek and she slowly opened her eyes. She gave him a wide smile and pecked his chest.
Moon: Morning beautiful.
Ocean: Good morning.
Moon: How are you?
Ocean: I'm fine as long as I'm with you.
She said with a cute smile on her face. He kissed her forehead and smiled.
Ocean: What was that? I mean last night, I mean those wolves, they weren't normal.
Moon: No, they weren't normal, they weren't even wolves. They were werewolves.
Ocean: Okay wait, werewolves are real too? Then Dracula, vampires, witches, fairies and mermaids would be real as well?
Ocean asked eagerly. Moon chuckled and sat up on the bed. Ocean was now sitting on his lap. She laid her head on his shoulder and he pulled her even closer.
Moon: I'm not so sure about all of them but I know witches are real.
He kissed her cheek and she giggled. He mentally awed hearing her soft melodious giggled. He rubbed the tip of his nose on her cheek and she giggled even more.
Moon: You are everything to me. You have no idea how much I felt lost when you left New Orleans with your parents. My life was colorless without you.
Ocean looked at him. Confusion visible on her beautiful face.
Moon: You remember when you had visited your uncle 6 years ago?
Ocean nodded her head and he continued.
Moon: You went to the forest for a picnic. That day you went to the lake and that was the very first time I saw you. I followed you all day but when I saw you leaving, I was out of control. I tried so hard to stop you but I failed. And after when you left, I was devastated. I was actually the one who hit your car so I could see you for a bit longer.
Ocean: Why did you do that? It could've hurt you so bad.
Moon: It did, I was hurt baby, but I didn't care. All I cared about was to get a chance to see you before you would have left.
Ocean: I will never leave you alone I promise.
Moon: I know.
Ocean: So why did they attack me? The wolves I mean.
Moon: You were there, that's why. It was nothing like they would have targeted you. They weren't in control.
Ocean: Oh, that means there is no need to get worried.
Moon: Why were you out of the room in the first place? I thought you would fall asleep and you would be safe.
Ocean: I had a nightmare. I didn't want to wake you up and fresh air always helps me calm my nerves so I went outside.
Moon: Okay. Next time you'll wake me up. I don't want you getting hurt okay?
Ocean: How would we be safe here, in your room?
Moon: You see my brother, Zeus is the Alpha, the one who controls all the werewolves in New Orleans. He has created a boundary that no wolves can cross in order to keep them away from me and keep me safe. Zeus can control himself but my parents can't. So they are compelled to stay away from the boundaries or the Alpha can kill them.
Ocean: But they are his parents?
Moon: Yes they are, but once someone is chosen to become an Alpha, everyone is obligated to follow him. If any of the wolves disobey the Alpha, the Alpha kills them. It's part of the beast inside them. All the beasts are out of control but still obey their Alpha. For fear or because without him, they are helpless and can get killed, I don't know.
Ocean: This is so cool.
Moon: I know right.
Ocean: So why aren't you like them?
Moon: I don't know. They never tell me anything about it. I just know that I am not a werewolf. Why am I so different, I have no idea.
Ocean: Thank you.
Moon: For what?
Ocean: For saving me last night.
Moon: You don't have to thank me. It's my duty to keep my girlfriend safe.
He ended his sentence with a wink. Her cheeks turned pink along with her nose. She was blushing hard. He pinched her chin lightly and guided her lips towards his. He softly brushed his lips on her lips. He always loved to tease her this way. He kept teasing her until she gave up and crashed her lips on his. He smiled and kissed her back. Their lips moved in sync in a soft but lovely kiss. He pulled back when they both were out of breath. He crawled out of the bed with Ocean still on his lap. He carried her like a baby into the bathroom.
Moon: Go and get ready. I will be waiting for you.
He said as he exited the bathroom. She smiled, peeled off her clothes and hopped into the shower. Fifteen minutes later she exited the bathroom, a towel was wrapped around her body and she made her was into his closet. Moon wasn't in the room at that time. She quickly picked a fancy purple top with skinny blue jeans, wore them and exited the closet. As she was about to open the door, Moon opened it for her and she jumped.
Moon: You done?
She nodded her head with a cute smile. She noticed Moon was freshly showered and fully dressed. He was wearing a light grey t-shirt and blue jeans. He offered her his hand, she quickly accepted it and he pulled her out of his bedroom. He took her to the dining room where everyone was already seated and were waiting for them. They quickly took their seats and Maria served them first.
Derek: I thought I was always the first one to be served?
Derek asked as he made a fake hurt face.
Moon: Not today pa, maybe next time.
Ocean covered her mouth with her hand and giggled at the cute fight she witnessed between father and son. Derek got up from his seat and went to her. He stood behind her and patted her head lovingly like a father.
Derek: God bless you my lovely child. You returned our Moon to us.
Moon: Pa, come on.
Moon stood up, wiped Derek's tears and pulled him in a strong hug. Derek hugged him back and patted his back lovingly. Maria and Ocean looked at both of them and awed seeing their love towards each other. Moon broke the hug, took his father back to his seat, made him sit and served his father by himself. He then sat beside him, on his seat and started digging in.
Maria: Ocean, we are very sorry for last night. Moon must have told you that we weren't in control.
Ocean: It's okay Mrs Kart, please don't apologise.
Maria: Again Mrs Kart, I told you to call me ma, like Moon.
Ocean: Oops! Sorry ma.
Derek: That's like a good girl.
Ocean smiled and felt her heart filled with joys and happinesses. She never thought his parents would be this much welcoming. Not just that, she never thought in her dreams that they would be so loving and caring towards her. Spending time with Moon's parents always makes her feel like she is spending time with her own parents.
Moon: Why Zeus isn't here by now? I miss him.
Both Derek and Maria looked at each other and looked back at Moon.
Moon: Wait, why are you both giving me this awkward look?
Maria: Zeus can't make it this time honey.
Moon: Wait why? He never skipped the Christmas and New year.
Derek: He was told someone is stalking us. One of the wolves had seen some unknown creatures in our territory. They followed them but no one could actually reach them. They are fast and smart. Zeus said he needs to stay and look into this. At first we all thought we all were being followed but we were never the center of their attraction.
Moon: What does that suppose to mean?
Maria: Moon, it's not us who are being followed, it's you and Ocean. Those unknown creatures are following you and keeping eyes on you both.
Ocean's eyes widened in horror and Moon also felt the same horror.
Moon and Ocean said in union: What?
