Dawn's pov
I grabbed the guard's arm as soon as he was about to leave.
"Where do you think you're going to?" I asked glaring at him.
"The king told me to sit somewhere and supervise your punishment, your highness" He replied with a stutter and I rolled my eyes.
"Don't tell me you'd sit here and watch a princess carry two heavy buckets in the name of punishment. I haven't even had breakfast you jerk. And from the weakness i feel, I won't survive this punishment if you let me do it alone" I muttered holding him firmly.
He looked around as his cheeks turned tomato red.
"Well...what do you want me to do, princess?" He asked feebly and I smiled.
"Can you please lend me a water hose that'll channel the water into the drum making the work easier for me? It's not too much to ask, is it?" I pouted giving him both an innocent and a seductive smile.
He chuckled like an idiot.
"I suppose I can help you with that but if the king finds out...then I'll be in big trouble" He stated and I nodded.
"I'll make sure he doesn't find out, I promise" I bickered.
I withdrew my hands from his immediately getting uncomfortable.
"What's the condition?" I asked dryly looking around us.
"All I need is an expensive jewelry from your collection. The one that comes with earrings too" He replied and I scoffed.
Like seriously???
Those jewelries are the least of my problem right now.
Even the dead princess doesn't need those things anymore.
"Alright... I'll give them to you right after the banquet this evening" I said and released the breath I didn't know I've been holding.
"Time's running out. Get the hose while I take the buckets to the tap" I ordered taking up the buckets from the floor.
I hope that brute doesn't suspect a thing after we're done.
I'll definitely show him who's boss later.
Simone's pov
I strolled into the banquet hall with two maids trailing behind me.
The working servants threw greetings and allegiance as we went pass them.
I will admit I loved the recognition I was getting.
The whole kingdom believes I'll be the one to give the king his first son.
Oh my God!
I would be the most favoured in the eyes of everyone.
A mother to the successor and heir apparent to the throne.
Nothing could take that joy away from me!
The decorators were almost through and there was a bit hastiness since the king might come out anytime to cross-check their efforts.
And nobody would want to get on his bad side...
Suddenly, I felt a hard push towards my bellybutton and I twitched.
It was the baby!...
I stopped including the maids and I took my time feeling the area.
It's going to be a boy.
I can feel it!
And very soon, I'll have him in my arms.
Dawn's pov
The door to the king's office - where he was - opened for me to see him.
His office was filled with exotic carved things beyond it's strange varieties.
He sat behind his desk - drinking wine.
His perfect lips was wet and delectable in the eyes.
The quicker he finished half a glass, the faster he pours more for himself.
At least!
I'm done with the horrible punishment.
"My Lord...I'm done with what you asked me to do" I stated feeling extremely exuberant about the whole thing.
He didn't talk but took few glances at me and back at his wine.
There was a long wide portrait of himself hanging above his head.
You would at first think it was an angel painted there - with the innocence and beauty reflecting on it.
King Lee...
He jerked up all of a sudden and left his seat walking towards me.
I didn't fail to gulp again.
What does he want now..
He kept the porcelain glass cup on the table backing me and all I could stare at - at that moment was his broad back.
"40 minutes. You spent 40 minutes filling the drums. A princess spent 40 minutes filling two huge drums? Aside from the hose you used, you still participated and fetched with the two buckets. Princess's don't lift something bigger than a slice of bread...so how could you have such strong hands to carry something so heavy. I asked for something rare and pure from your father, Anna.
"So I'm asking you now, are you a princess?"
