Dawn's pov
I fixed my eyes at the window watching the trees and the people that we drive pass on the way to my village.
Euphoris is extremely big and King Lee keeps conquering other towns thereby increasing the population and land.
I remember going through this road with that horrible man.
I thought I would die the minute I saw the king. People made me believe that he was a monster and a psychopath.
But he's so sweet too.
We got to a hill and I was able to spot our small hut where mom and I lived.
I hope she's around.
King Lee
"You're welcome again, My Lord. Please have your seat dear" The woman said walking to the table with the help of a stick.
I sat on a chair and dropped my hands on the table.
"Do you want anything, your Majesty?" She asked and I shook my head negatively.
She smiled and sat across the table on a similar chair.
"You're confused son, I can feel it. Its written on your face, my dear" She professed.
I smiled and looked around her house. It looked better than the last time I came here.
She bought new things and I guess with the money I gave her.
I cracked. Stubborn old woman.
"I'm not confused. I just need someone to clarify something to me" I said playing with the marbles I always go around with.
I rolled it around my fingers to keep myself busy.
"Go ahead, your highness" she offered with a grin.
I sighed.
"Since I started knowing things, I've always loved my father. I don't care what the word meant but I just knew that he's the most important person in this world to me. I never had any soft spot for anyone else except him. Then, he died.
"It was hard but I had to let go of those feelings I had for him. Then, my heart was empty. There was no one..." I paused and stopped rolling the marble.
"I don't know what I feel for her" I whispered as Dawn's image filled my mind.
I rubbed my forehead getting upset a little.
"I think about her all the time.
I scold my mind to stop but it doesn't.
And I just want her around" I cringed and clenched my fist.
"I don't want to love her. It makes me look and sound stupid" I said and threw the marble to the other side of the room.
"Calm down, Lee! Its not your fault and neither is it hers. And you can't fight love. It won't go away...." She said and touched my hand.
"She's not even a princess which means the court won't let me marry her,. I have to let her go" I shrugged.
"What are you saying, your highness? Your own mother was never a princess, neither was she a queen from birth" she stated.
"What?" I asked shocked.
Dawn's pov
The SUV's stopped in front of the hut and I rushed out of the car immediately.
I ran inside calling on mom.
Where is she?
I saw a figure on the bed half covered with a blanket.
Mom???
Tell me thats not her.
I tried to run but the dress I was wearing got hooked by a nail and I fell down on the dirty floor.
Mom always Cleans the house till its spotless. What's going on?
"Mom!" I called and scuttled to her ln the bed.
I took her hand and flinched.
She was freezing cold and with a pale face.
"Mommy! Its me,
Dawn...I'm back, mom" I quivered as my eyes welled up.
She has turned so slim and weak.
Oh goodness!
What have I done?..
Her eyes were closed but luckily, she was still breathing.
I have to do something!
I held her hand and began the healing process.
As time went by, I became weaker and felt drained.
Why's this happening to me?
The first time it ever happened was when I healed Caroline and now, it's happening again.
I decided to endure the agonizing trauma and held onto mom tighter.
I groaned as I felt empty completely.
*Dawn* Mom said staring at me.
I smiled and slumped to the floor.
"My dear girl!" She gasped and hugged me.
"You came to heal me...I lost all hope" She said with a sniff.
I couldn't reply her as I struggled with my nose for steady breath.
Suddenly, I heard gunshots outside.
What's going on?!
Some men barged into the room and I stared helplessly as they cocked their guns.
Who on earth are they??
I recognized the one at the middle.
That's Manuel.
Mom still held me In her arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
"W-Who are you? What do you want?" She wavered.
"Get the princess!" Manuel ordered and two of the men approached me.
They grabbed me forcefully pulling me up.
"Be gentle" Manuel said with a smirk.
"No! Leave me alone" I managed to say wiggling my arms.
Manuel came close to me holding a syringe and seemed to inject me with it.
I tried to kick him but the dress wouldn't let me.
What did he just give me?
My eyes grew weak and soon, everything was black.
