Megan's Point of View
"Even if you just think about how I'd feel if you rejected me. Why do you feel the need to tell me of this?" I gave him a shake of my head. I can't believe this is the person I want and decided to adore. He looked at me. Even though we were both soaking from the rain, no one wanted to leave between the two of us.
Eventually, I opted to flee, away from him and the feelings I had for him. Maybe if I was simply in the Romance scene, my tears would be in the air. I didn't even wipe away my tears since I knew it would be futile. After all, the tears would only keep falling.
When I went home, my hands and entire body were trembling. Maybe it's because of the cold and the agony. If only I could, I'd like to keep it cold tonight so that my main problem isn't making my heart boil with anguish. I came to a halt in the living room when I noticed my father with a man.
Perhaps it's just my age. I don't want him to see me at home since he often tells me I should find a lover.
“Megan! Why are you so damp?!” He immediately stood up in concern. Even the man with him got up and approached me.
I couldn't wait for my father to speak because I had preceded him. "Is this another blind date?" My lips are trembling from the extreme cold but my heart is still warm.
"This is ... You haven't even introduced me yet to your boyfriend so I thought I'd look someone for you." He smiled awkwardly then pushed in front of me the man who looked younger than me.
I turned my back on them and was about to pass them when my father suddenly spoke which was the reason why I stopped walking.
“You need to find someone to marry. We talked to your mommy, we decided to migrate to another country because businesses there are more in demand.”
“DAD! You quickly think about that! I'm only 25 years old!” My voice could be heard across the living room as if I owned the entire place. Even though we are wealthy, I do not like to squander money given to me by my parents, so I stretch the bone as much as possible. I put forth all of my efforts.
"You're no longer a child Megan!" His voice is louder than mine now. "Only a few months and you will be 26!" When he called my full name I stopped speaking.
But I'm not going to give up on what he wants. I know he lets me do everything I want, even though I never ask for it. I may be standing in the house that they built, but I will not allow them to let me marry a person that I don't even know. I want to live in a home where I can experience genuine affection.
"Do not worry! Tomorrow I will give you a grandchild too!” Because of my anger, it just came out of my mouth. I had no intention of taking what I said seriously but I was surprised when he smiled.
He snatched both of my shoulders and rubbed them. This is what I'm saying, they have no intentions to leave New York, they simply want me to get a man.
"When will we meet your boyfriend?" The way he asked, it seemed like we were simply friends and he was eager about my answer.
He must have forgotten that he brought a man here.
Because my father wants to stop me, I was the only one who spoke to the man who appeared out of place. My father grins stretch to the heavens. He might not be able to act in the way if my mother was present.
"I'm sorry for my father's difficulty but you are not my type." Frankly, there was no advance and I didn’t break when I told him that. I'd rather be rationalized by things that aren't true. Rather than telling him that I was not ready and that he might have to wait for me. But it looks like I'm going to fight with this man.
“No! I like you! Please give me a chance!” He clung to saying that. He's like a nerd at school who confesses his love to his crush.
I just gasped. I'm getting cold and I can't stand the cold anymore so I just turned around because I want to change my clothes. When I was on the stairs he shouted again.
He's just like a little brother to me. My dad seems to enjoy teasing the guy.
"Megan, what is your answer?" Even if he didn’t shout I could still hear him so I don’t know why he even had to yell.
I just raised my hand and waved as if saying goodbye. He can take care of what he wants to do. This man will also get tired.
But I was wrong.
The next morning when I woke up I saw him immediately in the living room and sitting as if waiting for the arrival of his boss.
I just want to go back to the alley and chat, but Rayleigh doesn't allow it, so I'm not accustomed to going there. As I descended the stairs, I noticed the stacked bento boxes on his lap. I approached him right away and inquired as to their purpose.
"We have a lot of food here at home, we won't starve you, so why are you carrying bento boxers?" I was wearing my robe while he was just looking at my body and restless.
I don't think he heard what I was saying. This is proof that he is young because he is easily distracted by this thing.
I untied the rope and opened it. Revealing my underwear and tube cloth. His face returned to mine as he swallowed in succession. My earlier good question was replaced by a rude question.
“What are you doing here? I think it's too early for you to disturb people who are asleep.” My voice is irritated. Instead of being in a good mood, I lost that immediately.
"I would have invited you on a double date but we'll just have a picnic in the park." He was bent over and his voice became sad and I think he was offended by what I said to him.
Because I'm not used to hurting people, I just messed up my hair with so much irritation. Why did my daddy bring him here!
“Just a minute and I'll get dressed. Wait for me here.” I stepped on the stairs but he grabbed my arm to stop me. My eyes got there so he also removed it as if he was burnt.
“If you can, make your clothes beautiful because I am with my cousin and her boyfriend. Her boyfriend is a famous businessman so ... ”He scratched his head and then continued. "I want to look presentable."
"HAH!" I couldn’t believe it. I sigh. There is no denying the frustration because I don’t want to be told or taught when it comes to my outfit. "Who is that businessman and why it seems like a VIP for me to prepare?!"
But I was stunned by his answer.
"It's Rayleigh Holden."
When he uttered that name, I hurriedly raced upstairs to get a dress. I took everything out of my cupboard and examined the long, out-of-date gown.
"AHHHHHH!!!"
When I saw my backless garment, I shouted and leaped for delight. This was Thea's prom present to me because there was no alteration in my physique, and it still fits this day.
I dashed into the bathroom and jumped in the shower. I went outside to get dressed and sought my red stilettos. I simply brought a black backless dress, scarlet stilettos, and a handbag. In Paris, I selected the most expensive perfume I'd ever purchased and almost sprayed it all over myself. It smells like coffee and is not overpowering. I almost slipped on the steps as I rushed out the door.
I went to —I don't know the name. Since last night he has been here I have not been able to get his name. He's been inviting me on a date but he hasn't introduced himself to me yet. I raised an eyebrow when he covered his nose as if I smelled so bad. I just didn’t pay attention to his reaction when I arrived.
"Anyway, what's your name?" It was too casual for me to ask him. I have no enthusiasm and look like a withered vegetable.
He scowled, maybe because of what I asked.
What should I do? I think Daddy didn't introduce him or he didn't introduce himself. In the end, all he did was answer my query.
"I am Cole Salander ." he hug the bento boxes hugged so tightly that you believed he'd lose them. No matter how hard I try, he appears to be a nerd in school.
"Anyway Cole, we have to leave and probably your sister will be bored waiting for us." I gave him a fake smile and then pulled him out. I already have a plan on how to make up for Rayleigh for what he did to me last night.
I can't wait to see him. Well, I'm not sure if that will work but I hope it will be effective somehow.
When we exited the front entrance, his car was waiting for us. It will only be discharged through the main gate. I'm simply curious why he had to put the bento boxes in when he can just leave them in his car. Another question is, why did he bring a driver? Is he incapable of driving?
I got in the car first, rather than just thinking about the questions in my head. I concentrated on how I would deal with Rayleigh later because he may be with his girlfriend. My objective would have been to make him jealous to find out whether he had feelings for me, but if he was with his girlfriend, I think I got the answer straight immediately. Cole took a seat next to me.
We had about a half-hour until we arrived at our destination. If Cole hadn't just touched me, I wouldn't have realized we were here; my mind raced with ideas of how I might pull off what I was planned.
Of course, I'll begin by demonstrating that I'm with someone else. I slid my hand around Cole's waist, and he wrapped one of his hands around mine. I brought the Bentos, so he was taken aback by what I did. He was flabbergasted by what I did. Because I was holding his waist, he was unable to walk. It's as though I'll be the guy between the two of us.
"Really?!"
The woman seated on the cloth where they were carrying the meal laughed aloud.
Rayleigh was also seated there, which irritated me more. They didn't even notice us when we walked in.
I angrily placed the bento boxes on their fabric. I untied the bento then took the cloth and laid it next to them. The woman looked at me because of the violence of my actions that she might think I would ruin something.
I also looked back at her then rolled my eyes.
“Megan. Can we go there?” Cole grabbed my dress then pointed to the far part.
“Why do we have to go there? I thought it was a double date?!” I couldn’t help but raise my voice. My heart aches because of how he manages to laugh with another woman if only last night he invited me to have sex with him.
"It's a double date, that doesn't mean we don't have to be alone." the lady said as she reached Rayleigh to give him a pizza.
Rayleigh didn't seem to be paying attention to what he was saying, and it appeared that she didn't care that I was now in front of him. The way he pretended as if he didn't know who I was.
"Fine!" I gathered all the boxes once more and moved ahead of Cole.
