Lazarus POV
I stand with the priest waiting for my bride. I do not think I have ever been this nervous about anything in my life. I am not anxious about spending my life with Willow. I am worried about being a good husband to Willow.
Willow will carry so much weight on her precious shoulders. Willow will be the queen of the fairies, a wife, and a mother. I know mother will help her, and so will I, but there are so many duties she will have to carry out on her own. I will make her life as easy as possible.
My mother comes down the stairs first. She is dressed beautifully yet conservative as always. She would never take the shine off of Willow today. Mother waits at the bottom of the stairs.
Willow begins her descent down the stairs, looking more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. She is wearing my mother’s dress and veil. Mother added purple and teal to her dress and veil. I know that made Willow happy. Her hair handing long and curled with braids on each side looks amazing on her. I love her long hair. She keeps it tied up. I wish she would let it flow more often. Her bouquet is beautiful. Willow is beautiful. Her wings are exquisite. My heart is full of her image at this very moment.
Willow reaches the bottom of the stairs to join mother. The two begin their walk to the priest and me. This is it. We are about to marry. Oh, Willow, I cannot wait to tell you how beautiful you are. I cannot wait to share so many happy moments with you as husband and wife.
“Who gives this bride in marriage?” the priest asks.
“I do,” Prissy says.
Mother kisses us both on the cheek. She steps behind us. As the priest begins the ceremony, there is a knock on the main door.
“Continue; whoever it is can wait,” I tell the priest.
The priest begins the ceremony. The knocking continues. My mother decides to investigate. She hurries over to the door. The priest continues under strict orders not to stop, no matter what.
My mother opens the door. The fairy and vampire council enter our home.
“They are getting married. Whatever business you have can wait,” Prissy tells them.
To my surprise, the council stands down. The council all gather with us in the house's central area, bearing witness to our union. Our small private ceremony grew to twenty guests in a matter of moments.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss your bride Lazarus,” the priest says, concluding the ceremony.
I lift her veil. I press my lips to hers, kissing my new bride as my wife for the first time. The kiss is sweeter than before. We belong to each other now.
The council members come to congratulate us. They do not look upset. “We only came to wish you two the best. A little bird tipped us that you had ordered a wedding cake. We put it together. Hell, we decided to crash the party,” Rudan says.
“You are welcome here, Rudan. We only wanted to keep it quiet to prevent any drama today on our wedding day,” Willow says.
“We understand,” Rudan says.
The oldest member of the vampire council comes forward to meet with Willow. He reaches for her hand. He kisses Willow’s hand. “My dear, we have not been introduced. I am Jackie. I am Lazarus\s father,” Jackie says.
“It is very nice to meet you,” Willow says.
I look up to see mother. She left in a hurry after the ceremony. I know she does not want to be close to my father. The pain he caused her has been too great. I do not blame her. Willow and I can spend time with her when the council leaves.
“Lazarus, I know it is your wedding day, but I am here to perform Willow’s transition,” Jackie says.
“Transition? Wait, I thought that could wait a little while?” Willow questions Jackie.
“Are you planning to start having children soon?” Jackie asks.
“Yes, we are,” Willow says.
“Then we need to get started as soon as possible; the sooner you both are hybrids, the sooner you are both safe,” Jackie says.
“We need to crown her first,” Rudan speaks up.
“Then do it,” Jackie says.
“You guys are rushing things. I wanted today to be for Lazarus and I only,” Willow speaks up.
Rudan and Jackie whisper back and forth briefly. The two seem to agree.
“The council will be back in the morning. You will be crowned Willow. Then both of you will transition into hybrids,” Jackie says.
“Sounds good,” I say. Willow nods in agreement. I can tell she is not ready, but she will do anything to be safe.
“What about my siblings and Luanne? Is anything being done?” Willow asks.
“Yes. We will go over all of that tomorrow. Enjoy your wedding night,” Rudan says.
The council turned to leave. “Lazarus give my regards to your mother,” Jackie says.
“Yes, sir,” I say.
The last council member leaves the house. Mother has not come back down. I will let her be. I want to focus the rest of my night on Willow. I want to hold her as my wife. I want to feel her as my wife.
“Are you hungry? Do you want anything?” I ask her.
“How about a bottle of wine?” Willow suggest.
“Sure, we can get it in the kitchen,” I say.
“How about you get it and meet me in our room,” she suggests.
“Yes, my wife. I can do that,” I say.
Willow goes up the stairs. I go into the kitchen to get the bottle of wine. I grab the red and the white. I am not sure which she will like. I will take both. I take two wine glasses from the cabinet. I set it all down on the counter. I need a bucket of ice. I look under the cabinet. I take the ice bucket out. I take the bucket over to the freezer to fill it with ice. After I fill it with ice, I place both wine bottles in the bucket. I grab the wine glasses. Now our night can begin as husband and wife.
I hurry up the stairs to our bedroom. I open the door. The lights are dimmed. I lock the door. I set the bucket and glasses down beside the Willow. Willow is in the bathroom, removing her dress.
She opens the door to the bathroom. She is without clothes. She stands with the light from the bathroom behind her making her wings glisten.
“I can leave them out if you like,” she says.
“You are beautiful, Willow,” I say.
I am stunned by her beauty. She strolls to me. Her wings are glowing behind her, displaying their beauty. She leans down to kiss me. She straddles me. Her body pushed against me. I slowly run my hand up her back but stop before I get to her wings.
She cradles my head in her hand, running my hair through her fingers. She nibbles at my ear. She kisses my neck. She pushes her naked body to mine. She begins to kiss my lips while tugging at my clothes.
“I want you inside of me, husband,” Willow says.
Those words turn me on. I know she can feel me growing beneath her. I want to spend the entire night making love to her. I want us to belong to one another and make each other feel things we have never felt before tonight.
She steps back from me, allowing me to remove my clothes. I cannot take my eyes away from her beauty. I pull off my clothes quickly. I know we have been together but tonight is special for us both.
