Chapter 58 Mark
The dinner ended peacefully and smoothly more than I thought. I never imagined my self sitting in a dining table with the same people I thought the reason of my broken soul. Yet, they are all here with me. It's just that Lucy, who is also a part of my life, is gone.
"What do you mean again? Levi and I are not in a rush. You've planned this out already, how will Lucy feel?"
He did not answer me. He combed with his finger the hair that covered his forehead. We are now on the lanai and are served tea by the housemates. Levi and his parents are somewhere in this house, as far as I know there is a business matter that can be discussed quickly. His brother Cali and his companion were seen talking near the pool area. I bit my lip slightly annoyed.
"I caught up with Lucy earlier at the condo. She's looking so miserable. She said she doesn't know where you are, and why didn't you include her now?"
I saw his expression froze, but his expression turned blank again. He just stared at the tea in front of him. I moved my chair closer so he could talk better and to make our conversation more private.
"Did you guys fought again? what is it this time?"
He sighed. I touched his shoulders and it weakened. I saw him smile wryly and take my hand resting there, he gently caressed it. For some reason I seem to feel heavier seeing him like this.
"Just a petty fight. Don't stress yourself too much." A long silence passed us by again. I looked at Cali and Klare who were maybe a meter away from each other. I can't hear them talking but I can see they're both serious there.
"Thanks for coming. I thought you're not coming." I secretly voiced. The two people were still staring at the pool area.
"Why wouldn't I? I know this is important to you."
"And this is important for you too." He was silent again.
"Aren't you gonna talk to them?" "If they don't ask, why else?"
"Lourd, I know this is all hard to believe but I want you to know that she didn't do it." "I know." I gasped. I frowned at him, not knowing what to feel.
"Since when?"
"It doesn't matter anymore." My lips parted and I looked at the pool again. Now the girl seems so distant, I saw Cali grab Klare's hand.
"Are you happy?" My mouth went agape. I saw Cali grabbed the girl and pinned her into his chest.
"I am. And you should be too."
"I am, as long as you are." He whispered.
My eyes are fixed into the two people, Klare somehow found her way to loosen Cali's grip so she got away from there and left Cali. As if it was my cue, I looked at my brother only to find out he was looking at me.
His eyes reminds me of his brother. They're strong and intimidating, but unlike his brother who has time to see its soft eyes, to him you can't seem to see it. The lower features of his face has some resemblance from our mom.
Thin lips and perfect shape of chin. My heart pained looking at his eyes. I saw this look before, way back in Mar De Vena when he brought me in his room in the hotel.
That time when he got hurt by the vase. His eyes look like this again, and it's bothering me to see him like this.
"Is everything okay?" I asked. He smiled.
"Always okay." I know he's not. He's my brother, we didn't grow up together but in the five years we've been together I feel like I already know him.
"I am happy, and I could be more happy when I see you marry Lucy."
I said that not for that point. I know he knows what I mean. Later Levi also went down with his parents. His dad looked for Cali and Klare, while her mom sat on the table we're at. I smiled a little. A warm feeling on my waist enveloped me and my gaze went to it. When I looked up I saw Levi smiling. I was not surprised because even though I wasn't looking, his scent was clear to my senses.
"Come, I'll show you something."
I hesitated to look at the two people left at the table as I could do nothing because Levi was already guiding me away from that table. I almost lost sight of them but that also disappeared as soon as Levi whispered to me.
"Let them talk." I shrugged. I want them to talk, I'm just worried about my brother.
"Where are you taking me?" He did not answer me because he was directing the long hallway, the lights were dim and the paintings were large on every wall there. On our left is a glass wall, where you can see the pool and jacuzzi which is very nice to look at because of the lights.
Being at this part of their house, I realized that their house surrounds the pool area so if you look outside you can definitely see other parts of the house as well. We even passed what seemed to be another living area but it was bigger compared to the living area you can see entering their main door.
I can't help but get amazed, it has this mood that feels like everybody who lives here are so serious and professionals and they are.
"Mom and dad stays here, I moved out when I'm of age, Cali seldom visits too." he said.
I nodded in response. High ceilings again opened up to us after the hallway, there I saw the two -way grand staircase. Not as grand as the house Levi built in Mar De Vena but still! This is beyond my imagination. We went there and we reached the second floor.
The construction of this house is not typical. I feel even thieves are embarrassed to enter. I only saw two doors in the hallway we went to, he opened the one near us and I expected it to be his. I looked at him as I entered his room. It's as simple as her penthouse. Though, you can see the difference.
Obviously a younger Levi owned it then. Minimal yet boyish. I went in and sat on the soft bed, he remained on the door jamb with both arms crossed, staring at my wonder in his room.
"Maybe you brought your girlfriends here before." I joked.
His eyebrows furrowed and he chuckled.
"When will you stop that scenarios in your head? I don't remember being a woman, Ava." I rolled my eyes.
"Even if you don't say it, I already know. And besides it's all your past, I won't be angry." He snorted and seemed to think about what I said.
"So you're bringing it here?"
"The?"
"Your girlfriend!" I raised my voice because over and over.
"Yes." I looked at him quickly and it glared. He chuckled at my reaction.
"Wrong, my fiancee." I blinked and tried to hide the smile. I was a bit confused because he approached me. I sat while he was in front of me. He touched my nape as I look at him.
"Baby, you're the only one in my life."
He said as if convincing me.
"You haven't had a girlfriend?" I look down at him. He did not answer and thought. I quickly removed his hand from mine.
"See!" He laughed again.
"Nothing funny." I whispered more. Alright. It is wrong for me to act like this especially since we are no longer children. And one more thing, it's my fault too, why did I love someone who was chased by everyone.
It's true, all through out our journey together I never encountered some of her past flings or so, well except Nadine but that's another part of the story.
But then, I still can't help it. Even if he doesn't say I feel a lot, no matter how blind I am, I know there is. But the thing I admire from him the most? Is despite of all my uncertain thoughts, he'd proven his self to me. He made me feel alone. His laughed vanished at my sudden silence.
He licked his lips before he placed both of his arms beside my legs. He confines me as I sit on his bed.
"Mad, are you?" His nosed touched mine. I gasped my breath smelling his minty breath. I'm the one who worries now if my breath smells like a dish.
"Hmm?" He asked again and planted a feathery kiss on my lips. It was as if my patience would be strained by what he did.
"You know, If you're not on your pill I might actually think you are pregnant." My eyes widened and gently pushed his chest because I couldn't get what he said.
"What are you saying? Of course, you're wrong."
"Yes, I am. Next time, that's true."
I furrowed my brows to make a point. This again feels like I have to give it to him. Does he badly want a child already? I bit my lips and looked at my fingers placed on his chest.
"Hey, I'm not rushing. You ... are more than enough for me. I couldn't ask for more." I really love this one. In the next life if he is not given to me again I will just ask not to live. I reached for his forehead and kissed it.
I cupped his cheek in my palms as the volume of my kiss to him decreased. He's smiling so proud, seems to love the tenderness I'm doing. If we have children, I can already imagine how much more I will fall for him. I will give him the love he deserves, all his sacrifices will be my victory and all his joy will be my air to breath.
"Baby, you really know how to make me weak."
I giggled as I bit his lips. I thought we were going to stop but he continued the kiss I had given him. A light moan escaped my lips. Then I realized we weren't in the place to do it.
"Levi, let's go home." "After turning me on, you're asking me to leave?"
Another growl came out of my lips because of his kisses on my neck. Are we really doing this right now?
"Let's remove all your bad thoughts about this room. Every place and every doubt, let's mark it with your name. I'm your territory."
