Chapter 1
The five-star hotel was heavily guarded. Countless security personnel were stationed outside. Today was the 23rd birthday of the heir to the Chu family. The Chu family had invited countless daughters of wealthy families, in the hopes that at least one of them would catch the eye of their precious crown prince.
In the presidential suite on the top floor, Li An’an opened her eyes. Her long lashes fluttered, and the silk blanket slipped off her body. Her hazy mind gradually cleared.
She looked in shock at the man lying beside her. His upper body was muscular, and very much nude. He had beautiful eyebrows, a high nose, and thin lips. The lines of his face were as cold and sharp as God’s most perfect masterpiece. At the moment, though his eyes were closed in deep sleep, he still seemed chilling and dangerous.
Li An’an was in a daze. Why was she in this room? She had been adopted as a child, and her adoptive parents had said that they had found her family. She was supposed to be meeting them today.
Her adoptive mother, Liu Luhua, had given her a glass of wine to celebrate. She drank it and blacked out. The next thing she knew, such a terrifying thing had happened.
She covered her mouth in fury, wanting to grab the man beside her and demand answers. She wanted to call the police, wanted him to be thrown in jail.
But in the end, she dared not do anything. She cried silently with her hand over her mouth, and carefully got out of bed. She picked up her dress and slowly put it on. Then, she made her way out of the room—she had to go to her adoptive mother’s room to clear things up.
How could they treat her like this? Wasn’t it enough that she had been as good as a servant from young?!
In a Room Downstairs
“Mom, that wretched girl has already been bullied, right? Haha, we’ll see if she still has the cheek to fight me for Brother Lu!”
On the luxurious bed, Li Xinyi smirked. When she was seven or eight years old, her family’s business ran into some problems. Her parents did not have time for her, so they brought back a girl from the orphanage who was about the same age as her. The orphan was to keep her company, but was essentially a servant for her.
All these years, the family had provided Li An’an with proper meals and raised her to adulthood, even allowing her an education until the first year of university. After all that, she had the gall to snatch Li Xinyi’s man away from her. The wretch was simply courting death!
Dressed in finery, Liu Luhua nodded.
“Of course. We’ve raised her from childhood and even paid for her education. Money doesn’t grow on trees. We don’t even expect her to repay us, but how dare she steal your limelight! She doesn’t know what’s good for her! She deserves everything that happens to her today!”
Li Xinyi happily picked up the expensive jewelry on the bed.
“Haha, what a haul! That disgusting President Cao is really generous! Let Li An’an do these things more often in future, Mom. It’s additional income for our family, and it’ll make Dad’s business deals go so much smoother. I’ll show Brother Lu her compromising videos. In fact, I’ll show them to all the relatives and friends. Let’s see if she still has the nerve to live. Hah!”
Liu Luhua indulgently praised, “My daughter is so smart, just like me!”
Eavesdropping outside the door, Li An’an covered her mouth and trembled. She recalled how she had been working like a servant in the Li family all these years. It turned out that this was not the scariest thing. The scariest thing was happening at this very moment.
The man who bullied her was arranged by them. Why? Her tears were falling in large drops. She treated them as family, but they were only using her. Now, they even wanted to destroy her. How cruel!
“Mom, when you said that you found her family, and that she’s a rich young lady, that was all a lie, right? Your goal was just to trick her into coming here, right?”
Liu Luhua pondered for a moment. Her eyes were filled with calculation. “Of course. Whatever opportunities there are, can only be yours. Her parents will always be murderers! She’ll always be bad luck, the daughter of criminals!”
“Haha! Wonderful!”
The two of them laughed for a moment. Liu Luhua looked at the time. That girl should be awake by now. “Put the things away. Call Lu Ming and let him come see Li An’an’s true nature. When even Lu Ming is repulsed by her, she’ll have no choice but to submit to our torments in the future.”
Li Xinyi agreed and quickly put away the jewelry.
“But Mom, what if Brother Lu protects her?”
Liu Luhua sneered. “Don’t be foolish. Lu Ming likes you too, and you are the true young lady of the Li family. Li An’an is just an adopted daughter. Now that something like this has happened to her, whom do you think Lu Ming will choose?”
“Haha! You’re right, Mom. Brother Lu will definitely choose me!”
Li An’an covered her mouth and backed away. Hearing such a terrible thing, her faith and her determination collapsed around her. She did not want to return to that demon’s house, nor did she want to see Lu Ming’s disgusted gaze. She turned around and ran outside.
In a panic, she ran out of the hotel.

There was a loud explosion from the hotel behind her. Li An’an did not care, and simply fled.
