Aviena's POV
“Ocean! Here is the gift!” Gwen’s excited scream enveloped us so I couldn’t help but smirk. I am not afraid of their dare. They will just probably ask me to drink 1 bottle of drinks or something.
They made me sit in a chair in the front so I couldn’t avoid frowning but when a big box came in I seemed to know what is it. This isn't my first time at a bachelorette party. Most of the time I am also invited to some party somehow.
I promise River that I won't stain his name, especially in public but if I go now, they will probably say that I'm a killjoy or anything that they can say to me. I couldn’t help but sigh.
Soon the three men came out. One of the guys goes to the girls and the two of those gifts go to me. I tried to avert my eyes. One thing I'm really sure of, Ocean and Gwen will really receive a scold from River. One of the instructions of that one is we party without a man. He said he shouldn't see a man here.
After the dance ended, I was already looking at the floor because everywhere I turned, I could only see abs.
After that, they danced again. I was about to go out when Ocean touched my wrist.
"Your dare is not over." Her voice was cold when she said that. Why did I forget that Ocean's memory is so sharp?
"What is it then?" I ask. I could see her grin seemed like everything she planned for is actually agreeing with her right now.
"Kiss one of the guys here," she said so my lips felt open.
“You know that I’m married to your brother. I can't do that,” I said while shaking my head. I could see how her eyebrows rise and the smirk on her lips.
"Really?" She even folded her arms as she looked at me.
"Then drink," she said, handing over two more bottles. I felt sorry for myself because I don't really drink that much.
"What?" My lips parted because of the shock of what he wanted to happen but I ended up drinking it all because her face was very serious.
I was dizzy when I finished it. I was really drunk. My head was really spinning when I heard someone shout.
"What the fuck?!" That shout was very angry but I was just grinning to myself when I felt the softness of the sofa. I sat there and felt the alcohol's punch.
I just felt myself floating in the air as I closed my eyes. When I opened it, I saw a handsome man who seems like he was furious. I couldn’t help but giggle as I looked at him.
"Why are you mad?" I asked before touching his cheek. He just averted his face from me so I couldn't avoid being pouty. He just really frowned as he put me in his car. I don't even know who he was so I tried my best to compose myself. I even tried to kick it.
I forced myself to go out of the car. Even though River and I weren’t really in love, we were still married. I thought I could flirt because we're not really but that's not really the case. I can't. I feel like I was cheating on him when I was doing that.
"I'm married," I said trying to leave but he immediately grabbed me and was about to put the seatbelt on me when I also held his hand.
"I'm your husband, Wife." His voice was still hoarse as if he was having a hard time.
When I met his eyes I immediately realized that he is really my husband.
“I feel like I'm drowning in your blue eyes,” I whispered as I stared at him. I slowly moved my lips closer to his before kissing him. Deeper and deeper. It's getting hotter and hotter. Only then did I catch my breath when we finished that kiss. I want more. I tried to kiss him again but he was not looking at me now.
“When I looked at you, I always feel like you are really hard to reach. Someone I can never have… ” I said, smiling bitterly to myself. I feel sober with that kiss. I also realized that he didn't like me. He likes someone else and it will never be me.
I just smiled before falling asleep.
I just woke up the next morning. I still remember what happened last night. We kiss and he doesn't like it. We kiss without even people watching us. We kiss but he tried to take me away from him. Nice.
My lips parted when I saw him lying on his sofa here in the room. Right. His family is here, he can't just sleep in the study room like he usually does.
I got up and was about to go to the bathroom to take a bath. I can't wake up late because I'll hear his family's rants about me again. That's annoying.
"I made you a soup for your hangover." I just stopped when I looked at River who was already sitting now. I don’t know if I woke him up or what.
"Thanks but I'll eat outside," I said before heading to the comfort room. He's acting as if nothing happens last night so I'll do the same.
It's just a kiss. It's impossible to be a big deal to him. But it's big deal to me because I did it without any work-related or people watching.
When I came out, he also followed me. I was frowning now especially when Ocean, Marissa, Tashi, and Gwen arrived there. Then I just remembered Atasha and Ate. I was already busy typing when I sat beside them. There are also texts from Atasha there saying that she came home early.
Me:
Atasha, I'm sorry for not checking on you. Did you get home last night? I'm sorry…
I felt guilty while typing because I was unconscious last night.
Atasha:
No, it's fine. I should be the one saying sorry. I left the party earlier because something came up.
"Did the guy last night ask for your number, Aviena?" Ocean asked me with a grin on her lips. Huh? What number? I couldn't even talk to them because she had already given me alcohol.
“I guess you really enjoyed last night, huh? Explain it to my brother. He's been ignoring me and getting mad at me for no reason. We all enjoy it but he's still angry. ” I looked at River who had the phone in his ear. He turned to his sister. Only one could be seen while looking into his eyes. Danger. He ignored them and look at me.
"You should eat first," he said to me so I nodded. It's also a bit awkward because all of them are here.
"Why are you even mad, Big Brother?" Ocean was still laughing as she looked at his brother who hold my wrist and was about to take me out to the table. I looked at him.
“Really, River? Why are you angry even though you also enjoyed the gifts at your party? ” Marissa asked him with a grin on her lips now. River also gave her a glare. Don't tell me they are having a lover quarrel right now and I'm being between them? I just laughed at the thought of him using me to make Marissa jealous. If I remember before I drank the drinks I saw Marissa having fun with one of the guys at the party. Don't tell me he's jealous? And gifts? So they also have gifts at that party, huh?
I just smiled before shaking my head.
"I'll go now then," I said walking first. I have too many problems to add one.
"I'll come with you," River said, holding me by my waist. So that's the reason why he's extra clingy, huh?
“You ate too early, Hija. You are early for dinner, ” Aunt Steff told me. My head hurts but it only hurts more.
“Auntie, Is Mati still sleeping. Is she planning to get up for dinner?” River asked so his Aunt calmed down. I also don’t really get why people are like that. Being able to criticize others but not being can't do the same to their children. I just smiled there before sitting down.
That’s just how the whole day went by. River and Marissa fight. His family tried to make me feel bad about different things and of course, River was extra sweet and caring. He's also really good at acting when his grandfather is there.
"Seems like you're not really comfortable here, Aviena." I stopped eating when I heard what River’s Grandpa said.
"Po?" I ask. River, I, and he are the only ones who was eating at the table now because River's family is getting ready to go to the resort for the wedding. I looked at River who did not speak.
“Someone told me that you barely eat together here and you often don't see River because of his job. When he comes home, he's just in the study room. ” My lips parted. River was really right. His Grandfather really has a spy here.
“I think you should know each other more. You barely go out because of your job. As for you, grandson, when you come home, go to your wife. I know you are both busy with various things, therefore, you are married and should see each other more often. How can you make a baby if you rarely see each other?” he asked so I choked on my food. River gave me his tissue. He also provided a drink. I don't know if it's because his Grandfather is here that he acts like this or what.
“Because of that, I decided to give you a penthouse. You two can stay there for a while. You can see each other somehow. This mansion is too big for the two of you,” he said so I looked at River. Nothing changed in his expression as if he didn't really care about that at all.
"I won't send you a maid so that you can learn as a couple," he added. I was a little excited about that idea. Well, it's more comfortable than how we live right now. You have limited movement. I know how to cook too. I'm just really lazy to clean up. I was just lazy when it came to that but I was able to live alone at home. I smiled.
"What do you think?" he asked the two of us.
"I don't actually mind about that, Don Crisostomo," I said so he immediately scolded me.
"How many times I'll tell you to just call me grandpa, Hija?" he asked. I pouted there because I would only be guilty, especially because River and I were fooling him. He turned to River now.
"What about you, grandson?" He asked.
"It's fine with me, Grandpa," River said so his Grandpa almost applauded. I couldn't avoid shaking my head.
"It's settled then… I'm expecting a grandchild by the end of this year," he said so I almost dropped my jaw.
"Huh?" It made him laugh at my strong question.
“I’m just kidding, Hija. But if you want to do that, that's fine with me. ” My lips remained parted because of him.
When I looked at River there was also a smile on his lips. When he saw me looking, he immediately raised an eyebrow at me.
“Why? Do you want to have a baby now? ”
