Aviena's POV
"How long is your business trip?" I asked River when he was in front of me. He didn't even tell me he had a business trip. He suddenly left without saying goodbye. They even said he took Marissa to New York.
"Isn't it a basic decency to inform me?" I asked him while combing my hair. He was busy typing with his laptop. He just came home but he's already busy with his work. They said he went abroad for work but now that he looks like he has a pile of work, I can't believe it.
"We said that there's no asking about whereabouts," he said with his eyes still on the laptop. I can't help but frown there.
“I'm not asking about your whereabouts, whatever else you do in New York is okay. But still inform me where you at so that if anyone asks, I know. ” I could see the irritation on his face because of what I said. He seems angry at me for being talkative now. It's just that I don't know how to answer people when they're asking me especially now that I'm so busy because of his grandfather's wish for a grand wedding. That one was always calling to ask how our plan was going.
He didn't want to look at me anymore so I sat down in front of him.
“Your clothes, is it already fine? Don't you have anything to change?” I asked him.
"Nothing. Just tell them to make everything faster. What a waste of time." I can't stop looking at him because of that. What the heck is wrong with him? It turns out that he sucks. He has been annoying me for several days since he came home. Did he realize that Marissa should be the one he married? Is he repenting now? It's his fault then. But don't he dare pour out his wrath on me.
“I’ll go to the pastry chef that will design the cake for our wedding. Tell me if you can help me with the cakes. If you're busy, you don't have to come. ” I might just be annoyed if he gets upset over the little time he wasted.
He just nodded so I struggled. I don't know what that nod is for. Why is he so irritable these past few days? He is annoying. I'm trying my best to act kind in front of him but he's not really great help. It's like my head just keeps getting hot when I see him.
After I got ready I also prepared to leave. If he doesn't go with me, there's Veron who I'm often with when there's work to be done for this wedding that's not done yet.
I glanced at him when I saw that he was also ready. I don't know if it's a good decision to come with him but I hope we won't argue.
I was quiet while riding in his car. He knows where the pastry shop will get the sweets for the wedding.
I was right. I really shouldn't have taken him with me. He doesn't help either.
"What should I do if you always answer 'it's up to you?" I asked frowning at him.
“I don't have sweet tooth and seems like you're enjoying the cakes. You can choose, ” he replied calmly even though I was already complaining.
When I talk with the pastry chef, it was as if nothing had happened and there was a mask of a smile on my lips again.
Somehow the two of us survived together. I thought I would kill him for being annoying.
“Yes, Ma’am? How is your relationship with Sir River? Is it okay?” Veron asked me when we got home. I laughed at her. Well, somehow I also know what everyone knows about River and my relationship. That we're just playing with each other.
“Nothing. He's still rude,” I said. Veron sat next to me before she combed my hair.
"Hey, Ma'am, the maid said that things have changed towards both of you because he saw the mistress again!" Veron annoyingly said. There is no break in her mouth.
"I think I'm the mistress." I laugh because that's what I think. We're just married by paper. I am the Wife but I feel I am the one ruining the relationship. I can't stop myself from shaking my head.
“What are you saying, Ma’am? You are married! ” she said to me. I did not speak. I can't just say anything about our contract. All the maids know about the rumors about us but they won't tell that s so I'm also comfortable somehow. They are afraid of being fired.
“You are so beautiful, Ma'am! Don't say you're scared?” She even raised an eyebrow at me. I just laughed because Veron looked like she was fighting for my life.
"Someone will even pay just to have a body like that! Make Sir River have a hard one sleeping with your face and that sexy body of yours!" she said so I almost choked on my saliva. My innocent brain is stained with what is because of Veron. She laughed when she saw my unbelievable look.
“Duh! Your body is so beautiful! Sir is just so selective! I already saw Marissa,” she said, still thinking.
"She's just an inch sexier than you," he said so my eyebrows rose.
"Is she pretty?" I ask. Well, I've seen her too but I want to know Veron's opinion. She's always honest.
“Yes! Sir isn't looking for someone ugly! ” she said still laughing. I just pouted because it's also true. River's ex is always beautiful.
Until tomorrow that's the topic Veron and I have. Since I don't have a job because River's Grandpa is making the wedding earlier. They are so excited when we are married now.
"Where should I place this, Ma'am?" Veron asked the next morning. I'm planning to exercise before meeting our wedding planner again.
"Please take it to the garden, Veron," I said so she smiled wide at me.
"Sure, Ma'am," she said while taking some things. I immediately narrowed my eyes at her when I saw the grin on his lips.
“What are you planning to do, Veron? I don't like those smiles on your lips,” I said. Veron and I are becoming close these days. With her, I feel at ease. Aside from the fact that she has a lot of chika, she also knows how to keep quiet when it was needed.
“What do I plan to do, Ma’am?” she asked me, carrying some of my belongings.
“Stop calling me Ma’am. I thought we were friends? ”
"All right," she said, thinking she was still forced. I couldn't help but laugh at her before walking beside her side.
"You're still studying, right?" I asked. She nodded at me as she arranged some for me to use here in the garden.
"Life is hard, isn't it?" I asked her so she nodded.
“That’s right. Not everyone has the same standard of living even if they make the same effort. Some are just wasting the money they have. ” She even laughed at me. I can't help but agree with that. She's right about that. Some are just wasting the money they have while some are struggling real hard to be able to have it.
We got busy talking about that when she went to the kitchen again because she was called.
I started my workout too. There is a gym inside River's mansion but now I prefer it outside because the sky is clear.
I was wearing my shorts and a sports bra while exercising. I still can't help but look at the sky. It's nice to watch, it relieves tiredness. I was looking at the sky when my eyes went to the balcony. My lips parted when I realized that it was the study room where the stunned man was looking at me now. His eyes were just cold as I was in the habit of looking. I bit my lip because of that. I raised an eyebrow at him because I felt like he was going to shout again.
I can’t help but think of Veron. That one is annoying sometimes. That's why there was a smile on her lips earlier.
I just shook my head before continuing what I was doing. River also left, which I am very grateful for. I also don't want to be watched by him. I was busy on my own. I also starting to get tired. I just distracted myself and pondered different things.
"What are you doing?" An angry voice stopped me. My lips parted when I realized that I was not the only person here. I saw some guards and helpers who were on the edge of the garden. I don’t know if they're watching or just doing things.
“Exercising? Is it obvious?” I asked him and turned to those with us here in the house who gradually pretended to leave. There's a lot of gossiper in his house.
"We have a wholeness gym for that," he said to me.
“But I like it here?” I also asked him a question. Why does he look angry? Is it forbidden to exercise here?
"What?" I asked annoyed when he just glared at me and didn't seem happy. I'm also not happy with what he's been doing lately but did I complain?
Before we can clash with each other again. A beautiful woman ran towards him. Her big boobs were still shaking as she approached us. I can't stop looking at her because of that.
Her boobs immediately stuck to River when she hugged him. I couldn't stop my lips from parting as I looked at her. She's really pretty. No wonder River's can't get over her.
I stared at her as she broke away from River's embrace. She’s wearing a classy dress that looks conservative but her body can’t be restrained there. It looks like whatever she wears is curved and the sexy body she has is still curved. There was an angelic face as her lips blushed as if she didn’t need lipstick or anything. Her make-up is also simple. She's so simple but I can’t help but compare myself to her.
I even looked at my body full of sweat while her fresh look seemed like she had just left the bathroom. I just bit my lip so hard while looking at her. Why am I comparing myself to her now? I thought I said to myself that I don't care about any of River's girls?
“Fortunately, I was able to follow here immediately. I miss you right away even! We haven't seen each other for three days.” Her voice was soft and the smile on her lips never faded.
"You're earlier than expected." I heard River's voice so I couldn’t help but smirk. So she really is the one he went to New York for, huh?
I was just looking at her so she noticed it. She let out a tender smile before extending her hand to me.
“Hmm, hi? You're River's wife for 2 years, right? I'm Marissa. ”
