"Gee Gar. For a moment there I thought you actually cared about me." I laughed at her enthusiasm.
"If you'll tell me how to bewitch the man I'll marry you."
I laughed even harder.
"No thanks. You are gorgeous. But I'm more of a penetration kinda girl."
"Good lord sweet Cathy is becoming a bad girl. You actually said penetration without turning beet root. And you meant it in a sexual term. What precisely did that mystery man do to you."
"Nothing you couldn't do to me if you set your mind to it."
I winked at her and her mouth fell open. What can I say? I am not the girl I was a couple of weeks ago.
"Now I don't have to be worried."
"Nothing Gar."
"What?"
"We didn't do anything. We just . . . talked."
"I am feeling like he paid you to talk to him but let's keep that aside what did he look like."
"I don't know. It was dark I didn't see him."
I just felt him. A lot. I almost sighed audible. I quickly caught myself and asked the next question.
"What's the big deal about him? I mean he is rich but there are other rich people heck only the billionaires can afford this place. So is why is everyone so... interested in him."
"You have come to the right place. We have a few minutes before we are supposed to work so drink your wine and let auntie Gar tell you all about your man."
"He's not my man."
I said taking a cautious sip of the bubbly wine.
"Maybe that's what you think but I bet on my granny's grave he will ask for you tonight."
"Why would he do that?"
"A man like that looks for eloquence and in you and he found it."
"Gar have you been reading the books I gave you?"
I gasped dramatically noticing her use of the word eloquence.
Although she grew up on the streets she had a thirst for education so I started to share my novels and former text books with her.
"Well . . .maybe a little peek now and then."
"Gar! I'm so proud of you."
"Bleh... keep that aside right now. Logan Buchanan. Owner of Buchanan enterprise largest real estate and networking companies the world has ever seen. He is the son of ex-con and millionaire George Buchanan no one knows his mother and no one has seen him since he was a child he just resurfaced out of nowhere and made his own money. I bet its because of a woman. Maybe he ran off with his father's mistress while she was pregnant for his father's best friend and then made her abort it."
"Oh Gar." I sighed and face palmed myself.
"What? With great riches comes great problems."
"But I still don't get it. He's not the only one with a tragic grass to grace story. Heck he didn't even have to step on grass if he wasn't stubborn and asked his father's help. Why is he so.... iconic and mysterious?"
"What happens to rich young men with tragic back stories?"
"I don't know he gets depression, dies and leaves all his money to the stripper he met only once? What are you saying Gar."
"No Cathy, women want to fix him but there are none you know why?"
"No Gar I don't know why."
"Why so impatient I am about to get to the good part. There are no women or men Cathy. Annoying and tenacious as the paps are no one has ever seen what he looks like. Rumor has it he doesn't have a face. He traded it to the devil, that is what I say."
I set aside the too sweet wine and got up.
"I think I've heard enough superstitions for one night Gar."
I kissed her on both cheeks and go to dress trying to ignore that huge part of me that looked forward to he requesting for me in VIP again.
Spoiler alert he didn't.
I didn't let that bum me though i plugged in my earpiece and hummed along to ed Sheeran's Perfect.

For some reason I thought about me at the altar with- ugh no, i have just met the man why is my mind thinking like this?
Even as i stopped day dreaming i couldn't help the smile on my face not knowing what i would see the next day would sober me up.
A D minus.
A core course that could stop me from graduating and I got D.
"Cathy I want to talk to you." Mr. Meeks said to me after most of the class had left.
"If it's to tell me you're disappointed in me don't bother."
"I'll excuse your tone because you are one of best students and I'm worried about you. You have been seeming distracted lately. I would have broken the rules to let you rewrite but I won't here long. I'm going for treatment abroad."
"What treatment."
"I have breast cancer. It's rare but happens to men too."
"Wow that's..."
"Unfortunate, I know. They are bringing in a sub and you can't keep going on like this. I wish you luck."
"Yo Cathy wait up."
I hear Beast trying to catch up with me as I walked out the school building.
I feel guilty that we haven't been talking much because I've been avoiding he and Emerald.
There was no way Beast wouldn't catch up with me unless I broke into a fill run. Who am I kidding? Even then he'd still catch up with me.
"What is it?"
The words came out more sharply than I would have liked and he was clearly also shocked.
"Woah angel. I asked you to abort our baby doesn't mean I want you too out of my life."
He tried to joke.
I ignored him and continued to walk.
I just couldn't do this right now. Not when I've definitely failed my test and I still have to go back....there.
"Come on Cathy."
He put a hand on my shoulder.
"That's not possible."
I muttered walking faster.
I turned around and yelled.
"I can't be pregnant for a fucking loser!"
The whole parking lot went silent.
