"Thank you so much, guys, for today. I'm satisfied with how everything turned out!" I said to my team.
"Thaliana, take a rest. It looks like everything is okay now, and you're done."
Luther approached me and said that. I was already checked in, and the other guests were in their respective hotel rooms.
"I am okay, Luther. I'll check if there's anything I missed that needs fixing," I replied.
When I felt a tap on my shoulder from Riza, one of my employees, I turned to her.
"Ma'am, the handsome one, is he your fiancé?" she asked.
I didn't say anything and just smiled. Luther looked around the venue, seemingly checking for anything that might need attention. The decorations around the pool area were already in order.
"Luther!"
We both turned at the sound of that voice. I saw a man and a woman approaching. My eyes were fixed on the woman because of her beauty!
"Hey, Hector..."
The guy called out to Luther as they approached us.
"The cakes are here, also the cupcakes. Where should we put them?" the guy asked Luther.
"Oh, is she your fiancée?" he turned to me.
"She is, but... it's hard to explain. She's Thaliana Tangi Dela Vezca," Luther introduced me.
"Thaliana, he is our cousin, Eros Hector Lozrealle. Our mothers are sisters."
I took a step forward and shook hands with the man Luther introduced. Their family has really good genes, huh? This guy is handsome too. The surname sounded familiar to me.
"Hello," I smiled. He then looked at the woman with him and glanced back at Luther.
"This is my girlfriend, Lovender. She was the one who baked the cake and the cupcakes."
"Really? It seems like you introduced someone else last time, Hector," Luther joked.
"Shut up, someone might believe it."
When I made eye contact with Luther's cousin's girlfriend, she smiled at me. She's so pretty! She looks like a doll!
"Hello, I am Lovender," she said to me and extended her hand. I promptly took it and shook hands.
"I'm Thaliana Tangi, but you can just call me Thaliana," I said and smiled.
"So... you bake cakes?"
She nodded, "Yes, that's my job. How about you?"
I pointed to the flowers nearby.
"I'm a florist; I'm one of those who arranged the flowers in this venue."
Her eyes seemed to sparkle at what I said.
"R-Really? I'm amazed! The beauty caught my attention even at the entrance. You're really good!"
I smiled at Lovender's compliment. We chatted for a while until her boyfriend invited her to go to the hotel and rest.
When I felt a tap on my side, I turned and saw my employees. They informed me that they're heading home and would come back tomorrow to pick up the equipment.
I was left there with Luther, checking the venue to make sure everything was in order. By five o'clock, the food arrived. Luther and I were busy earlier, but now everything was set. We just needed to wait for the food, and it had arrived.
"Finally, everything is ready," Luther said, taking a seat. He placed his phone on the table.
"Did you contact Uncle Royce?" I asked.
He looked at me, and it seemed like he forgot about it.
"I forgot, but around 3:00 pm, I talked to Dad and told him I'm being sought by Mom. We had plans for a family dinner."
"Sir Luther! We just have a quick question!"
Luther stood up again when someone called him. It happened just as he moved away that his phone suddenly rang. Upon checking, it was Uncle Royce calling. I looked at Luther again, stood up, and took his ringing phone. I was about to approach him, but he abruptly left the venue.
With no other choice, I answered the call.
"Hello, Uncle Royce, Luther just stepped out for a moment—"
"Thaliana..."
I was stunned as it wasn't Uncle Royce's voice I heard on the other end.
I looked again at the caller, and it did show Uncle Royce's name!
But why am I hearing Rozzean's voice?! I brought the phone back to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Thaliana, why do you have Luther's phone? Where are you, and where is he?"
I sensed danger in his voice. It should be me asking questions! Why does he have his dad's phone!
"Thaliana, why are you—"
I ended the call. When I saw Luther returning, I met him and handed him his phone.
"Uncle Royce called, but it was Rozzean who spoke," I said with a hint of annoyance in my voice. Luther raised an eyebrow and dialed back. I should have just waited for him. How would I know it was Rozzean?
I stood aside.
"Hello—"
"Cyron, why are you speaking so fast? Can you talk slowly? I can't understand what you're saying."
I glanced at Luther. He looked at me briefly, then continued the call.
"Yes... of course, she's with me... in the room?"
"No, of course not. Why are you using Dad's number? Where is he? And where are you guys?"
I signaled to Luther that I was leaving. He nodded, so I went out of the venue. I headed to the hotel. I went to my room and lay down on the bed, stretching my body.
I still had two hours to prepare for the party, but sleep was pulling me.
I got up, opened my bag, and took out my grooming kit. My outfit for tonight was already hanging. It was a gold satin fitted dress. Time was ticking fast, so after a ten-minute rest, I headed to the bathroom for a quick shower.
I prepared myself, wearing just my bathrobe while drying my hair. When I checked the time, it was already six in the evening. Time really flew by so fast. It felt like just a while ago, we were starting to set up the venue.
My phone rang, and I saw Thes calling.
"Sht."
I almost forgot about my friend!
"Hello, Tangi! I'm here at the place. I talked to the personnel, and they told me your room number."
She really went through with it! I needed to keep an eye on her; who knows what she might do! I know Thes; when she says something, she really does it.
"Sure, just knock on my door. I'm still getting ready."
After saying that, I ended the call. About a minute later, I heard a knock.
"That was quick. My room is on the third floor?" I asked as I walked toward the door.
"Are you going to stay here tonight, Th—"
"Who's going to stay here tonight?"
My jaw dropped when I saw Rozzean in front of me. Eyebrows furrowed.
"I am asking you, Thaliana, who's going to stay here tonight?"
