Landon was done eating the pasta in the room, so he put the pot close to the bed where no one would see it when they came in.
He was full and he was ready to sleep when he heard a knock on the door. “Who is there?” Landon asked, making sure the pot was hidden pretty well.
“It’s me, Kimberly.” She responded and Landon sighed. “What do you want?” he asked, still sitting on the bed. “I am here to take the pot back to the kitchen. I bet you are done with it.” She muttered, and Landon opened his eyes widely knowing he had been caught. “And why do you think a pot would be in my room?” he asked, trying to deny it.
“I am not thinking. I know it is in there, so please open the door so I can carry it. I need to wash it before it starts smelling in your room. Think about it.” She stated and Landon sighed. “She caught me already.” He thought, standing up and walking to the door. He opened the door and he saw her grinning.
“The pot please, ” she muttered and he pointed inside the room. She walked inside the room trying not to burst into laughter. “He is just so full of himself.” She thought, looking for the pot but she couldn’t find it. “Where is it? Did you eat the pot with the pasta?” she stated, and Landon smirked before looking back.
“You know if I told you I don’t have the pot you would never believe me. Now you have seen that I don’t have it. Can you let me rest now?” He asked and Kim was dumbfounded. “That is impossible. I saw you carry the pot inside here.” Kim mumbled, walking into the bathroom to check there.
“ Have you forgotten that this is my house? You can’t just barge in and start looking for stuff I know nothing about. ” He said, and she shook her head. “You know something about this. I am not dumb okay?” she said and he smiled.
“You are not dumb yet you can’t bring out the pot you claimed to be here. When you are done, you will search the kitchen for my pot. And if that pot goes missing, it would be deducted from your salary.” He said making way for her to move out.
She looked and felt so confused. She knew she wasn’t mistaken, so she kept mute and walked out of the room. She was cooking another idea. She got to the living room and headed to the kitchen again. She found Sara sleeping on the couch already, and Abigail was busy taking snaps with the beautiful frames and portraits used to decorate the living room.
Kim rolled her eyes and entered the kitchen to see it was the same way she left it. No pot was outside. She searched the cabinet and zinc to make sure he didn’t return it. “Great! Let’s see how long a pot of pasta can last in your room before it begins to smell. Then you will know I am not dumb.” She mumbled walking out of the kitchen.
She wanted to catch Landon red-handed. She already knew he would never say she is right, but now she would prove him wrong. She walked back to her room to take a nap. She laid on the bed and picked up her phone to browse a little before sleeping.
As she switched on her interest connection, the first message that popped in was that of Alex. She sighed aloud before clicking on his message box. “I gave you till tomorrow. I just messaged to let you know that I need the money in my bank account by 9 am. Failure to do this can attract the cops.” She read and her heart began to beat very fast.
“ How do I get 1000 USD before 9 am tomorrow. Landon should have just left me with him. I have no source of income to pay for this. ” She thought sadly. Then she thought of showing the message to Landon since he was the one that asked her to leave the hospital.
She climbed down from the bed and hurried out of the room to Landon's. She was almost crying.

Landon carried the pot in his hand carefully. He looked left and right of the hallway before tiptoeing to the stairs. Kim walked out of the room and found him tiptoeing with the pot of pasta with me. She wanted to make a joke of him but she couldn’t. She wouldn’t want to jeopardize her chances of paying Alex's money back.
She stood behind him and acted like she saw nothing.
After dropping the pot in the kitchen, he walked up the stairs and saw Kim standing there. She was looking sad and scared, he could see it. “ What is going on? Why are you standing here like a bouncer?” He asked, gulping. “ I need your help. Read this. ” She said, passing the phone to him. He collected the phone after hesitating for some seconds.
He looked at the screen and he read Alex's message. “ What is wrong with that guy? Is it not 1000 USD or is it more than that? ” he asked and she shook her head. “It is. But I don’t even have it. Please can you help me?” she asked with tears rolling down her face. Seeing her unhappy made Landon super calm again.
“ Let me have his account details. I would lend you the money, and immediately I send it to delete his digits and never talk to him again.” He said in anger walking to his room. Kim felt so happy he was going to help it. It seemed easier than expected. “ I will. Thank you so much. ” She muttered, running to her room happily.
“ He just saved himself the disgrace of carrying that pot. I will let that slide. ” She thought, smiling widely.
