Everything is foggy but I can feel a warmth around my hand and it feels like something is squeezing my leg in a way but it hurts to move.
"Open your eyes Cookie." Aiden's voice comes to me in a whisper.
"Why are you whispering?" I ask normal and it sends a pounding sensation through my head.
I open my eyes and look to see Aiden smile lightly at me.
"You have a concussion."
"That is why my head hurts." My voice is much lower matching his this time and it keeps my head from pounding so hard.
"Do you remember what happened?"
"Yeah tires screeching as I started my car up then my head hit the window."
"A car t-boned you in the parking lot."
I slowly nod and thankfully my neck doesn't hurt.
"Anything else wrong other than a concussion." I ask him since I can't take my eyes off of his.
"You have a couple of cuts on your face." His fingers trace by to the area I guess on my face. "Then you have a fractured femur."
"Not as bad as it could have been then." I sigh and my eyes flutter closed.
I try to sit up when it hits me and it makes my head hurt. "Where is Talitha?" I get frantic and my voice being high, makes my head pound so hard I can hear it in my ears but I don't care right now.
"She is okay Cookie. My Mom is staying with her and Joseph both at our house. Everyone is here in the waiting room. You have been asleep for a couple of hours since it happened."
I lay back on the bed again and let out a slow breath.
"There is something else though." Aiden starts but stops, getting my attention to look at him once more,
"What?" I look at him not able to pinpoint the emotion on his face shows.
Is that nerves and excitement? I hadn't seen that look since he asked me to marry him.
"Uhh. Should I come out and just say it or let the doctor do it?" Aiden mumbles.
I squeeze his hand. "Love, you know that you can tell me everything. Just spit it out." I can't help but smile because my sexy, eye candy, dominant husband is flabbergasted.
"You know how you have gotten sick a couple of times, been more well horny and responsive?"
"Yeah." I roll my eyes not seeing where he is going with this.
"You're nine weeks pregnant Kelsie." Aiden looks at me.
I can feel as my eyes go wide and my hearts flutters in my chest. Excitement builds in me.
Then it comes crashing down.
That is not possible! We went through four rounds of IVF and it failed all four times! We have been having sex regularly for such a long time.
Wouldn't I even know if I was pregnant?
My eyes narrow as everything gets smaller and I hear Aiden swallow, as well as see his Adams apple bob up and down.
"That is the meanest and cruelest joke you have ever done. How could you!" I can feel myself getting teary eyed and my heart crushing as all the negative thoughts and doubts flood through my mind because it is just not possible for me. We have tried! We stopped trying well over a year ago and just living our lives together.
Aiden shakes his head and his eyes plead with me.
"Cookie. I am not lying or playing a joke I swear. You're pregnant. The doctor seen and has the lab work they done to prove it. He looked sincere and thought we already would have known based off you being towards the end of the first trimester."
"I. I-I." My words fail.
"We are going to have two babies now." Aiden smiles and gets up enough to kiss me gently.
"Are you sure he said I was? I can't believe it Aiden not until I can see the baby." Tears start to run down my face.
Aiden wipes them away gently. "I don't think it is a lie on blood work Cookie." His voice stays gentle.
A person in a white coat walks in and introduces himself as the doctor. We talk to him for a few moments and he looks at me weird then explains that Aiden told me of my issues being able to get pregnant. So he is going to let the ultrasound technician come in and perform one on me to where I can see the baby, while he understood my 'Denial' as he calls it.
Aiden never lets go of my hand the entire time.
In no time the ultrasound is going and talk about unpleasant. I am more than used to Aiden and toys inside me but this, this right here it feels like I am violated in every way possible with how the lady is doing the test.
Before my eyes, she turns her screen and I see a little bean. Then after she hits a few buttons a fast thumping, sounds in the room.
"That is your baby's heartbeat. Everything is measuring right on track to the lab results stating your at the nine week mark." She smiles.
Once she leaves the room, I squeeze Aiden's hand and finally speak for the first time.
"We are having a baby." I barely whisper.
"Yes we are Cookie." Aiden smiles and gets misty eyed just like he did the morning we got Talitha.
"We are going to have two babies soon." I laugh lightly and tears pour again but this time they are glorious tears.
"We are going to be parents to two."
After another scan they release me from the hospital because it came back good. All of the family is waiting for us when Aiden wheels me out into the waiting area. All that is missing is Stephanie, Joseph, and Talitha. I want to see my baby girl so bad right now.
We both agreed, once he helped me dress using a pair of his shorts from his car, that even though Talitha is an infant still we are telling her first about her sibling coming. Then the rest of the family will be told since we already know they are all coming to the house. I heard that over the phone when Aiden called them instead of walking to the waiting room to let them know I am being discharged.
Aiden helps me stand from the wheelchair and everyone gives me gentle hugs. Aiden opts to carry me out to the car instead of letting me use the crutches to walk on my own. Sadly, for several weeks they are going to have to be used until this cast can come off.
We make it home in no time and Stephanie hugs me gently before I get to see my little girl. She is awake in her bassinet when I make it over to her with Aiden's help once again. He picks her up for me and we ask the family to give us a moment, so they move to the kitchen. I whisper it to Talitha by her head and then give her many kisses.
I feel so complete already and I just found out a couple of hours ago.
Aiden watches me get sat on the couch and passes Talitha to me before we call the family into the living room again.
Aiden and I tell them and there are many praises and whisper screams going around us.
This is the best thing ever. The feeling I feel right now and can guess Aiden is too by the never ending smile.
